  1. I know what that's like! I did that all the time pre-band! I think Sharpie is right, it is part of the addiction but also part of the emotional eating. Sad- eat, Lonely - eat, Celebrate - eat, at least for me. The only emotion that didn't make me want to eat was anger.
  2. Ditto! I start solids later this week and I have been so nervous about it! Thanks.
  3. I am a little worried about dinners at my father's and dinners at my in laws, as neither know about my surgery. Only my mother and husband know and I feel like it is no one else's business. If I go out to a restaurant, I feel I will at least have the power to choose what to eat and can stick with soup or something I know.
  4. Just wondering how you are holding up? Did you have a good Canada Day?
  5. Hi mom2dle, how are you feeling?
  6. I don't like the groups navigation either. It's a bit confusing. Doing pretty good, 14 days out and on soft foods. How are you Rebecca? Hi Desert Cactus, I also had a hernia repair. How are you feeling?
  7. Hi, this group is a little quiet. Welcome.

They all seem to differ on the meals thing. Mine is 3 small (1 C) meals and 2 snacks, eat every 3 hours. I have read many on here do 2-3 small meals a day and that's it. Good luck on your upcoming procedure. Don't listen to the cheaters.
  9. Good luck on your journey!
  10. From my understanding, it's when your band has been properly adjusted enough to allow you to feel satisfied on 1 cup of food (or whatever your surgeon suggests) for 3-4 hrs. So yeah, not hungry + losing steadily.
  11. Congrats on 29lbs already Gary!
  12. Hi, welcome. I am starting the mush phase tomorrow. I know I am not going to have much restriction until I get properly adjusted, I can just tell already. We just got to hang in there and watch portions/calories etc. I hear it is much easier once we are in the green zone.
  13. I hope you feel better!
  14. Oh interesting. I am going to have to see if it's on the pvr!
  15. That's great! Good for you on the will power!
  16. Fabulous! You look amazing!
  17. I am looking into this now. I am trying to decide between the 2 models. I'll let you know when I get it.

That emotional part sounds just like me. We are so used to "stuffing in", now we have to face it. Hang in there and I hope you recover quickly!

    Congrats on ONEderland!!
  20. I am trying to, I am on full liquids still. It's low I know, but I am going to try adding Protein Powder to Soup and almond milk.
  21. Oh dear, I am sorry. That's rough. I am 7 days out and still weak. Is there anyone that can help you? (hugs)
  22. Hi Rose, good luck to you. I blog right here. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/blog/7499-band-on-the-run/
  23. Congrats! That is a great feeling. I am not on solids yet, but I am going to say that life is still going to happen. I don't believe in deprivation, but moderation. I plan to track what I eat and stick to good choices 90%-95% of the time, but if life happens, I plan on enjoying it, with in reason, and keeping track. I know this can be more easily said than done, but I put too much into this to sabotage myself.
