    Happy Bandiversary!
  3. Happy Bandiversary! Congrats!
  4. I have 6.5 cc and I don't think I am green yet.
  5. Face for sure, hands - but that could be less swelling and boobs which I din't need to lose there..lol
  6. Have you tried mixing protein powder into your oatmeal? May help get the protein up. Good luck! Yes I like asparagus, but have not tried it since banding. Chose skinny stalks (too big and they are woody), and cut the ends off - they can be tough too. I have steamed it, boiled it and my favourite was roasting it in the oven with a drizzle of olive oil and light sprinkle of a coarse salt. You can microwave it too in a dish with a bit of water.
  7. I am sorry you are going through this. I sure hope this gets cleared up asap for you!
  8. Hi! I don't like the set up of the social groups. They are a bit confusing to navigate and we don't get notified of new topics. Sorry for the late reply, I am out here. I am dieting right now, until I hit the green zone. I am staying around 1C of food and counting calories. It's all we can do until the band is adjusted to it's optimum level for us. I know this part named "bandster hell" is tough. Sorry I don't know what the tech meant, but I read that lots of places fill slowly, as being too tight can be dangerous and would require an emergency unfill. Good luck!
  9. Great attitude Bro Rob! Love it! Hi Amberley! My very first semi solid meal was Soup with big chunks of veggies and chicken + a rye crisp with laughing cow light cheese. Then for dinner that night I made pork chops because my husband wanted some, but they were a real pain to chew up..make sure your meat is moist. Most of the time I try to have 3oz solid Protein, 1/2 c veg and 1/4c grain for dinner. Nothing has given me problems yet, just go slow and small pieces. I like to feel it pass through before continuing. Good luck with your fills!
  10. Hi Bro Rob, I hope you find that green zone next time! Did they put any in at surgery?
  11. That's great progress! Congrats!
  12. I just had my first fill today too. No pain, just a small pick. Sorry you had such a difficult time.
  13. This week I made something similar to this -
  14. I know! I was shocked to learn it had that much already. I guess that is why I am able to eat the smaller portions without being ravenous, but I do get hungry around 2hrs later..I hope this was just the top up I need. I am very afraid to be too tight, but I feel fine so far. When they do the surgery at Slimband, they now use what they call "Slim Spot technology". They fill the band completely and then defill until they determine where the sweet spot level is - by watching the nerve I am told - so my sweet spot was determined to be at 7cc. They then take out enough, about 1.5 - 2 cc to allow for swelling and healing following surgery.
  15. I second pickles too. I often have a couple baby dills and a cheese stick.
  16. I just got in today for my fill. I thought I'd have to wait till Aug 7th. yay. I had 5.5 in my band at surgery and they added 1 cc. So far so good.
  17. Hi, how did you find the first fill? Do you notice a difference? How long are you able to go between meals? Sorry, just wondering as I should have a first fill coming up, but I hear they only give .75cc at a time. I hope you find some relief from gas soon!
  18. Hi, I am dieting too right now. I can eat anything so far, but I do stay satisfied for a bit on a small portion. I am counting calories to stay in control. I do have some in my band from surgery, not sure how much.
  19. Hi Gary! Glad you are doing well. There is Fluid in my band too, but I forgot to ask how much post-op. I should be able to have my first fill on Aug 7th. I was debating on whether I needed it or not, but I am "dieting" at this point. I am counting calories so I don't gain. I am satisfied on my portion, but do find I get hungry faster and I am going to bed hungry. Congrats on all your victories! Wow Sunshine, that's great! I also started up exercise again. Just walks at the moment, but I need to add strength, specially for arms. Good luck with your fill! Hi Gavin, wow that's about 42 pounds right? Sorry I had to do a conversion from stones to pounds. That's great! I haven't had a sip of alcohol yet. I am a little afraid to. I bet I am a real lightweight now.
  20. Anyone else? I just hit one month banded yesterday.
  21. Congrats! You got this!
  22. Congrats on your new life.
  23. oh, it was a walk. lol too hot to even attempt running. But I do plan on it someday. Did you get any tornadoes there yesterday? The storms finally moved out some of the humidity.
