  1. My shoulder pain is back today too! Ouch! Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk
  2. My dr. Also said carbonation was okay as long as I poor it in a glass over ice and let it "fizz out" for a bit. Too scared to try it though.
  3. The bra. I need to wear a "real" bra tonight as I am going to our school districts board of directors meeting to meet the new Principal of my school. I've been living in my comfy sports bra and comfy pants. Shoot...real pants too. Eek! Haha! On a side note, I guess this is a NSV, my school (horribly uncomfortable because it was too dang tight) shirt fit a bit better today. Only a few days post op. Feeling good...
  4. You and I are like clones! Haha! I live in San Tan Valley/Queen Creek. I was banded by Nirmul on 6/20 and am down 13.5 lbs! I doubt I'll make it to a support group at True Results given the distance for me to drive but who knows!
  5. I was banded Thursday (6/20) with a hernia repair. Days 1 and 2 were bad for me! Day 3 was when it started to turn around. I gained 6 lbs day of surgery due to fluids - eek! I was at 225 when I got home from surgery and now I am at 210.5. I stopped taking the pain meds Friday as they didn't help with the gas pain or port pain I was experiencing. I also stopped nausea meds Saturday. I had my moments of "WTF did I do?" But they resolved rather quickly once most of my pain subsided. Thank goodness! Yesterday I drove my eldest son to his cousin's house, picked up a few hours later, and then took all three to swim lessons. I was exhausted, but it felt good to be "normal" again. Keep trudging along, it will get better! Get up and walk, walk, walk! Good luck!!
  6. I've attached a picture. Green arrow is pointing to the scanner.
  7. For those with slips, was your band stitched in place? My surgeon stitched mine in place to reduce the possibility of slippage.
  8. Do you have the app on your phone? When you click to add a food look to the top right and you should see a symbol for it. Horrible description, sorry.
  9. Tomander - with maintenance how much of a fill do you have? Just curious.
  10. Everyone probably already knows this, BUT did you know MFP has a barcode scanner that easily adds your food into your diary? I was going to ask how you all log your Protein powders and then Voila! I see the scanner button thingy! It's the little things...
  11. Kll724 - according to the "list" I got from my doc I can begin a Protein powder smoothie day 3. Sunshine - you do not have to mix with milk. I despise milk and would never agree to that! Haha
  12. I got mine at Hi Health and I think it was about $35 for a huge container.
  13. Question: I was drinking my flavored Water with some Protein powder mixed in. I sipped it slowly over probably 30 minutes. When I was done I felt horribly full. I thought liquids passed straight through, so why did I feel so icky? Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk
  14. I've attached a picture of this protein powder I picked up from Hi Health. I LOVE it! It does not have a gritty texture and doesn't taste fowl. I mixed it with my sugar free "kool-aid" and it tastes fabulous! I think I just found my replacement for the Atkins protein shakes. I was gagging on them since surgery.

  17. So I told a few close friends about my surgery. One of which has a sister, mother, and nephew who all had the lapband done. Anyway, I told this friend who also works with me and we went to school together to be special education teachers, that if she noticed that my clothes look AWFUL she better tell me! I don't want to be "that" teacher who dresses weird/inappropriate. So, she agreed right off the bat...because she doesn't want to be friends with "that" teacher either. Haha! I know from previous weightloss that I will wear clothes until they literally fall off of my body. Any who... My second funny...I noticed this the second night when I was try to get comfy in my 5 year old daughter's bed. When I would turn my body from side to side I can feel my internal organs flop fromside to side. Grossest feeling ever when I realized what the flopping was! Now that much of the gas has subsided I do not feel this flopping. So...here I am with floppy internal organs and a friend who will tell me when my clothes don't fit.
  18. Yes, coughing does hurt! Also, I had a hiccup day 2 and thought I was going to pass out! I had a hernia repaired so that could be part of it too. Good luck!!
  19. That's what I was figuring. I've not taken any pain meds since Friday morning. I quickly realized they did nothing for the pain (gas) I was experiencing! Haha! Great point about turning while backing up!! Maybe it will help me feel even better by getting out?
  20. When did you all drive again? One of my kids was asked over for a play date tomorrow. I had surgery on 6/20. I haven't had any meds for awhile now. I don't remember any orders from my doc on how long to wait before driving.
  21. Chemicalruth, I am also in Arizona. I had my kids unfold my treadmill so I can walk today. I abhor the heat! Everyone else - thank you for your kind, encouraging words! I feel best in the mornings and my attitude dwindles as the day goes forward. I finally took some pictures today so I can watch my progress.
  22. Did anyone else have a post-op feeling that they just made the biggest mistake with the lapband? I am hoping that when I am feeling better and getting back to normal (especially food wise) I will be out of this mindset.
  23. Karenw - my legs were not spread open. In fact, my feet were pressed up against a foot board as the table is inclined a bit as the doctor works.
  24. Does anyone else remember waking up with sore calf muscles? I feel like I did an amazing workout while I was under! I'm it is from the compression things. Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk
  25. I don't remember my user name, but my email is msapp77@yahoo.com Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk
