Today is my one year bandiversary! Weight day of surgery was 345lbs this am 315.8lbs
Not as low as my goal of 175lbs but I'll get there one day at a time! My band and I haven't always gotten along and as of right now she's in timeout with some Fluid removed- she was making her presents known too well with causing me pain. Hopefully next week she can get ungrounded and get her fluid back and start acting right again!

I'm starting my journey over again myself! I have a great doctor who is staying on top of things, and I'm giving it my all!!
Eat slowly, take small bites, and make sure you taste every bite! 40 grams of Protein a day! You can do this!

Had an appt with the nurse practitioner today and she put 5 cc back in the band!

This was a wake up call for me and I'm going to use this band as the tool it's intended and get this weight off!

Thank you all for your kind words. I should get a call today from the nurse practitioner that has been seeing me. I just moved across Country so this is a new practice to me and I had never met one of the doctors until last night in the er. He said they have been moving away from the lapband and the long term care of the band. That makes me mad and sad because I had to jump through hoops to even get them to take me on as a patient and just yesterday I paid $180 for their 12 support group sessions and 6 exercise sessions I had to agree to to be seen by them!
I have not lost a whole lot since surgery. I was 345 at surgery and was 333.3 yesterday - feel that's a loss I could have done without all stress of the band.
The band is definitely not for the weak hearted. And it's no where as easy as they claim in the commercials. Even after the band you will still be dieting. I have even bought the coffee bean extract and some other diet pill. Something I would never have expected to be buying trying to lose weight post band.
Sorry for the vent. I'm frustrated.

I've had the band since November and this is the first time this has happened to me. I think the issue was I ate before I went(which is fine to do) and had a stuck episode so I think the swelling from that plus the fill was just to much.

I called the on call number and they have me going to the er now

I got the call today from the Benefit Director for my employer, they are approving my appeal, woot, woot! The only thing is they want me to have it done before the end of the year, because our insurance is changing. Waiting to hear back from the nurse coordinator to see how soon it can be scheduled.

Definitely sounds like gas! I had the same thing. Walking an the gas x strips helped a lot. A lot of people say to use a heating pad (I didn't have one to use)
I had a sore neck and jaw figured it was from the Anesthesiologist.

the neck and shoulder pain can also come because of a position they may had to put your head and neck in to intubate you. take your pain medication as ordered. warm fluids may help. and walking.

OMGOD.....over 9 lbs???? Come on...wake up...sounds to me like he is looking for an excuse to leave but is hoping you will leave him first. (If I had to guess-I would assume he already has another one that he has been seeing right now and that is why he is saying these things to you)
That is just absolutely an awful thing to say. Sorry...but 9 lbs cant make you look that different. WHat an ass! Sorry but he is. Kick him to the curb as hard as it may be for you....you dont need his kind of abuse...that is NOT LOVE!
It shouldnt matter what you look like if someone truly loves you for who you are.
I have no tolerance for his type and honestly would tell him so!.
Move on...there is someone much better out there for you who will treat you how you deserve to be treated.

First of all let me say this. If you stay with him after that, you are crazy. I wish my husband for one minute would ever say anything like that to me over 9lbs. Really and you love him why? Let him go and tell him I am the same person I was 9lbs ago. Yes me the person you supposedly fell in love with not what I looked like. He would be history and fast and in an email too that would go something like this:
Dear Senseless,
Since it is apparent that you only like/love me when I am 170lbs and this 9 pounds I gained is a turn off to you then guess what I am telling you to do? Well let's see, when I met you I was much larger then I am now. You still wanted to be with me. We were awesome together and well today I don't find you awesome any longer, so please do me a favor and travel the world barefoot until you meet the girl of your dreams because this girl is moving on without YOU.

You are worth SO much more than that.
Go on holiday on your own. You deserve to enjoy a break, not be wracked with insecurities, which he has in no way on Gods green earth, got the right to instill in you.

Ok guys I didnt make it in Nov but just to give u guys an update I got my approval from insurance today soo now hoping for a december surgery..

Hi all,
I got my band put in today! Everything is ok, but I'm surprised how it hurts to take even little sips of water... is this normal for others? How long until the pain went away? Would love to know what other people experienced.

Dr. Nirmul did my band on the 21st. He and the staff at the surgical center were wonderful. My surgery went great and I am recovering really well. True Results Scottsdale and the staff are all terrific. So far, my experience, start to now has been great.

Banded on the 18th and back to work today!!
Still sore in the area but so far so good! is anyone back to work?
Ps. I have a sitting job
