Ok ???? well my apologies i think everyone is a open as i am-RESPECT(towards you), but on some real stuff ( not sure if you can cuss on here im kinda new also) im the coolest person you ever wanna meet, but i turn into a She when im hungry, as i have been since 12/15! Look, ma you gotta be strong i know its not easy! But your gonna thank yourself & modern medicine & God, when people start giveing you compliment, trust me , it give you life when people compliment you on your success! Granted ive always been obese, but within the last year i became morbidly obease @ 290, thats when i decided on the procedure, now where thinging my unexpected weight gain may. Hv been because of a Thyroid problems, well i wish some would hv told me that 4,500$ ago, im a self pay patient, i went to Tijuana for my procedures, so by my doc not being in the states, as hungy and as hangry as i hv become, I knew there was no room for error! You are playing a very dangerous game! If stomach acid leaks into your diaphragm, its a wrap (its over) , please live & be great ???? ????

wish you a smooth and speedy recovery! Just remember to walk and sip , walk and sip. That is what they drill into our heads at the classes my Surgeons group offers.

I know a few people who had done this post surgery and have had great results HOWEVER with that said.. in all honesty.. you should talk to your nutritionist about it before you begin it..make sure it won't do you any harm. As for in person ppl in your area have you tried any bariatric support groups in your area?

After 3 years and 1 month to the day, i had my band removed three days ago.. and now i have to try and figure out my life without it.. at least until my follow up with my surgeon to talk options. I have grown an intolerance over the last year and a half with my band and had even scheduled with another group for removal and conversion over to sleeve. Some days i was scared to eat because who knew if it would throw my system into an episode and eventually slip. It never did.. time after time i would go for a fill only for a few months down the road for Lucy to be emptied out. Yes i named her Lucy. She never slipped though until about a week ago.. i was emptied out completely so i am not exactly sure what led to this .. I was completely and utterly miserable with her.
But i will miss her. She gave me a wonderful tool to learn to eat smaller portions. She helped me loose over 100 pounds from my highest weight. I had her for three years and while i had my complications i didn't regret getting her.. and now she is gone. Its bittersweet but a blessing in disguise.. but now i have to learn this food thing all over again.. to train my brain to not over do it just because she is gone..the mind game..it is one i wish we did not have to deal with but we do. Fingers crossed it's not to bad for me and that my surgeon says we can convert to the sleeve.
Please if you feel something is off with your band.. call your doctor and if you feel in your gut you need a second opinion or feel like just a heartbeat with insurance... get a second opinion. You're worth it.

I am sorry you are going through that. It is tough when the ones you thought would support you.. do not.. but just remember ... they may not understand your why .. because they are not in your body and are not going through it themselves... As for support this site is great and there are weight loss support groups bariatric doctors recommend patients to go to.. FB has a ton of groups and we are on instagram too. Best of luck to you in your journey.

I do not see anything wrong with that list. It is ashame that we can't post anything positive about us or our lives , be it regarding wls or non wls .. and not be told we are wrong for doing so.. that it is bragging and unfair to everyone else... Please do not let the negative nancy's who get offended by every little thing stop you from sharing with us about who you are. Cyber bullies and i am tired of them.. the IG community just lost a great source of motivation for both wls and non wls due to them and it is sad. #istandwithjoey

I get irritated at the ones who just walk out in front of you and walk SUPER slow and they don't use a crosswalk .. I didn't know anyone could walk that slow!
Or if you follow behind someone into the drive of a complex and they stop to talk to someone who had been walking. There is no way to go around you! Move off to the side and let others pass through.
Or you see a driving sitting there and then as soon as you're close to them.. they pull out in front of you and go slow.
Get a move on people!

She asked me why ..stated her concerns ... she went with me to the first few appointments and each concern was addressed by my doctor.. fast forward 3 years after having the band removed .. her first thought to me was.. so our next step is a conversion?

makes me sad too, but like most of the pp's said, she is slowly accepting it. Today is better than yesterday and she even said that she would try to drive up to visit me after the surgery....so keep your head up. your mom will come around....they may NEVER be overly excited about it...that is until they see our success.

And then let's talk about round-abouts. Blend people, blend. MERGE. Don't come to a dead stop unless you have to. Yield is good, merge is better. Going a different way to avoid round-abouts is BEST if you don't know how to f^cking use them!!

I can record programs on my DVR and FF, rewind, etc. but if I watch something ON DEMAND, I cant????

I know the feeling I told my mom and dad and they told me about all the bad stuff with it. My mom told me to track what I eat and go to the gym. I been telling them they I can't do it on my own or I would. I am 36 and a mother of two boys and I want to be around longer for them. Last night my dad told me I can't do it cause I love food to much and I am giving everything up for it. I am trying to put around me positive people, I am ready to prove my family wrong, and my sister is getting ready to get married and they told me to get a plus size dress and have it altered to fit after surgery and I told them that is more money. You will do great and find the positive people in your life. I have my work family, church family and friends!!!

I'm so grateful to be the exception. Not only has my mom been tremendously supportive of my surgery, she insisted on paying for it and being by my side. I've made it into my early 30s without my mom having ever made me feel crazy or stupid about anything, much less personal healthcare choices. My husband is a physician, and I'm a professor, so she knows we're keen on educating ourselves before making momentous decisions. She's also known that I've struggled with my weight for years, and how it has impacted my quality of life in a myriad of ways. When I first told her about wanting to have the VSG she was mildly surprised only because she didn't think I'd qualify for it since I was a size 14, and definitely overweight but barely into the obese category. My endocrinologist had recommended the VSG to me because other patients my age and size who have PCOS have benefitted from it. I sent my mom the medical research on women with PCOS having the VSG, and she became as committed to me having it as my husband. Insurance wasn't going to cover a cent of the costs because my BMI was under 35, and she was initially concerned about that aspect. Local surgeons were going to charge $29,000 to $35K. My husband and I are still paying off student debt, so that was unfeasible. I did research on having surgery in Mexico, and sent it all to her. She got on board. She insisted on giving us the money for the surgery. Since my husband was working the week of the surgery, she and my dad flew out to be my support team and accompany me to Mexico. In the ten months since having the surgery, only my parents and my husband know about it, which has been perfect for me because they've given me all the support I need. I can't even put into words how much I appreciate her and my dad.
