Yes, the last we heard, she is in the hospital. Missy has not made it a secret that she has MS and between the TT, blood clots and MS, she needs all the prayers she can get.
Many here have PM her our personal get well wishes and I hope and pray we hear from her.
May we all stand together in prayer, for a speedy recovery!

Update!! Oh my gosh, after finally swallowing my pride I dragged my sorry butt to the surgeon for a fill. I avoided going for months because I wad ashamed at my lack of weight loss and I knew we'd have "the talk." Basically, I'd have to admit my failures and cheating. The nurse who does my fills never said a word about her being disappointed or even being surprised...This happens, and probably more than people want to admit. I had lost only 3 pounds in 5 months (Having had gone up and down in the same 20lbs for weeks!) I even admitted to attempting the Omni diet after watching a friend lose 40 pounds, and desperate to get some quick weight off to alleviate some of my anxiety about going to a fill without any weight loss. You could tell her hesitation when I told her, but calmly reassured me that my band was much more successful at doing the same thing. She filled my band with 1.5cc's and away I went...Relieved it wasn't some horror movie interrogation. When I weighed at the doctors office on 5/28/13 I was 430lbs. As of this evening I am down to 415.8! I told my husband yesterday, almost in tears, "My God! THIS it's what full is supposed to feel like! This is what they've been taking about all along!" The past 3 days I've been able to stick to my small portions and actually feel like "Hey, maybe I DON'T need any more food than this!" Unfortunately I've had a couple instances where I've gotten to hungry and ended up getting things a little stuck, but I'm finally realizing where all those rules come into play! Before, I could feel things slipping through with little or no restriction, feeling like it was doing it's job I just wasn't doing it right. Now, I'm forced to listen to my body and my surgeons advice. Meals take 20-30 minutes and I'm chewing, chewing, chewing. It is a eureka moment!!! I'm hesitant to get too excited and know that my effort had to remain steady, but I finally "get it." It's amazing what a couple of CCs of saline and a little pep talk can do! I am pumped! I have plans to break the 400lb mark no later than July!! Thank you everyone for your AMAZING support and advice!!

OK... maybe I am going to sound incredibly stupid here, but I keep seeing the acronym "PB" used on the forums - what does it mean? I gather it is vomiting??

I'm sitting here laughing at the food part because that's exactly how I feel right now. I cannot wait to have tuna fish with mayo! I got banded May 23rd and I'm on day 4 of post-op. Physically it's been going well except choking down the necessary amount of Protein and Water. However today I was able to finish a whole 14 ounce Protein Shake. I also felt my stomach growl LOUDLY today and the hunger hit today. I had chicken broth too and right now I'm sipping on white grape juice and water. It tastes like HEAVEN! LOL Emotionally it has been a different story. I guess the shock is wearing off and I'm crying then laughing then crying. I know it's going to get better. And honestly, this forum has helped tremendously. I cannot recommend this enough to everyone reading this right now - read up on here and you'll be fine.

Well went to the my doctor earlier today and the results are in..... The band was to tight. No liquid was going through when I took the x-ray so they took some Fluid out and I'm feeling great!!
I just want to thank everyone for commenting. I was just anxious and wanted to see if anyone else has gone threw what I was going through. It looks like I was spitting up acid from my stomach since the food was getting stuck up top. I was just a little scared and was looking for support while I waited the crazy 12 hours to get in to my doctor. I'm happy that I posted this because I know that I am not the only one who had gone through this and I won't be the last. I don't feel like we should be afraid to ask questions because I'm sure someone out there on this forum has the same question or has gone through the same thing.
I'm just relieved that all it resorted to was taking out some fluid! Thank God!!

You've probably gone ahead and gotten banded. But I do want to chime in and say that I totally know where you're coming from. I was terrified before I got my band, for the same reasons. I decided to give in to faith and do it, praying everything would work out. My desire to be healthy outweighed my desire to be obese. I guess you'll say at that point, I'd do anything.
I want to vouch for what everyone else has said. Issues with the band seem to be few and far between, or caused by those with no control. Or underlying issues they haven't corrected (continuing to binge, etc). Do not be scared. Go into it, and be passionate. Work your journey, never allowing yourself to fail. You deserve it!!!

zaknjordansmom reacted to rebeccarawks in Surgery after c-section/breastfeeding.
I'm not an expert but it seems like you should wait until you are fully healed from the section which is 6-8 weeks. I have had three c sections. As far as breast feeding, I think the biggest concern will be supply since you are going to be restricting calories. If breast feeding is important to you I would hold off personally. I had a major surgery when I was still breast feeding my now 7 year old. I waited until she was one. I had my surgery 8 days later knowing that if I dried up that I had breast fed for my goal of 12 months. She ended up nursing for three more months before self weaning but my supply was never the same. I'd wait six months personally and spend that time with your baby and healing.

zaknjordansmom reacted to Creekwood in At my heaviest and current weight
I walked in the survivor lap of the Relay For Life today. I've been cancer free for 11 years now! The last time that I walked it was in 2011. I looked at some pictures and realized I was at my heaviest (395), now I'm at 323. The pictures show a huge difference. I was 369 when I called to make my consultation and 333 on day of surgery (5/6). So obviously i didn't lose all my weight with band but i was only 26 pounds lighter when i set up my consultation. I didn't even want to wear the survivor shirt at my heaviest because it was way too tight (biggest they had 3X). In fairness today was a 4X. But, it feels good to be 72 pounds lighter than my heaviest weight. I went from 395 to 315 dieting by myself but ended up at 369 and decided to have surgery and am now at 323. This time I'm not gaining it back!!
