I told my mother about and she ordered the Cd so when I see her tonight I am going to borrow it...she has lost 6lbs without the band!

My husband calls me the bionic woman so I guess mine should be named after her but I cant think of what her name was...anyone know?

Welcome B, I am a school teacher and I go by Mrs. B LOL so we something in common. I too decided to self pay. My insurance would only cover the gastric bypass and wanted me to jump through 1,000,000 hoops so I went to Dr. Rodriguez in Monterrey Mx. While I love him and he is wonderful....even the scars look great. I wish I had gone closer to home because now I am thinking of changing Dr. for my after care. I don't want to fly every time I get a fill. Which I should soon I think been stuck at -20 for about 2 weeks now. Well good luck and God Bless! Rica

Good Luck to both of you girls. I was banded 6/13 in MX. I had a great three days there and hardly any pain. My worries came later when I realized I did not ask enough questions. Having the support of all of these great people helps. Use them and me too! Rica

Alex, You were right to post the good so often we focus on the bad. I being new am a victom of this. I was reminded today as I stepped on the scale and another pound disapeared what a wonderful journey this is becoming. Don't get me wrong, all the post help and I feel as if I have found somewhere where my concerns can be answered without any "what were you thinking" or "we told you so. I too have been over weight for well over 20 years. But now I see the hope on the horizon. I see what all of you are doing and it helps to keep focused on the future. What brave and wonderful women all of us are. To have taken a step towards saving our lives and our sanity. We live in a world where they think we are lazy... ect. Can 't understand our plight or our need to have surgery to fix the problem. The quizical looks of why? You look fine or why don't you workout the way you used too. (I used to be a top athlete) All I can say is bravo to all of us for taking back our lives and looking toward a future that holds so many more things for us then just "weighting" for our lives to begin. I love the positive post and I will remeber to celebrate the small victories over this live long battle that I finaly believe I can win!!! Rica

Congradulations! I cant wait until I can join you. I am only 4 weeks out and things are getting loose but I can still fit most of them. I am a clothes horse so I have three closets filled with stuff I can't wait to get into and as soooon as it fits I am throwing the 22's and 20's away for good....! I love this band too!

Anne, Thanks Yes that is my wedding picture from two years ago. I was 10lbs less than I am today. 263lbs. I will be happy to reach that mini goal. Thanks for telling me what you Dr. Said. I have heard so many different things. I am feeling better though. All of the great suppoert is giving me strength. Rica Ps This is me at my girl friends wedding last year. Thank you for the support I too self paid and I guess I am a worrier. I am going liquid again for a while just to make sure. Diane why don't you and I keep intouch. I would love to be part of any support group that is out there. I know I can not make this journey by myself and as you can see my hubbie would never understand even though he is very supportive. One week of the gym and he has ripped abs (hate him) love him
