  1. Thanks everyone....(tears) I feel like this the one place that I can share my tears. I am trying to be strong for my dad and family. They have always thought of me as the strong one. I don't know what kind of lukemia it is yet, but I am hopeful. If he needs a little marrow he has a lot of children and one of us is bound to match (crossing fingers) Right? It's funny how one day you can be "Gosh I wish I would lose this next 10lbs" and the next realize how unimportant it all is. Don't get me wrong this band has saved my life, but I would trade it in a moment for the health of my dad... (sniff, sniff) Thanks for all the support I have been given and all the information. You have given me more hope... I will be positive! I will stay strong! I am just so damn scared!
  2. So my sister calls me Friday and half crying says that I need to call my father. Well of course I ask her what is wrong, my father is 76 and many things ail him but nothing serious ... that is until now. So I get off the phone and call my dad who is trying to be his ussual chipper self. He tells me after a few pleasantries that he has been diagnosed with lukemia. Now I am scared to death, but I didn't think he needed to hysterical daugters. SO I remined him that our family is strong and we beat cancer...only thing is, I don't really believe it. My Aunt just died last year after fighting breast cancer for 5 years...and while I am fine I had the baby of cancer. They took it out and I had no residual effects. What the hell is lukemia anyway... I know we have a few nurses on this board and I would appriciate the information. I am not freaking out... but I haven't done any reasearch on the net yet... I guess I am too scared about what I will find out. Hell I don't even know how a person fights it. Radiation...sucks, but kemo sucks more.... Thanks in advance for the help. :think
  3. Katie and Betty thanks for the support!
  4. Good I am glad to hear you are doing well. Keep it up you can do it!
  5. The whole reason I lost the intial 15lbs was because I was on liquids after that it's been about (averaging) 1 1/2 per week.... I think you should def be careful and there is a great book out there that will help with the do's and don'ts hell I forgot the name... But I know someone will let you know. Remember this is a life journey... not a quick fix. Take it slow and be kind to yourself and your band...
  6. Excercise will make you hungry...don't you ever notice you want to gorge after sex...
  7. Just wondering ... if so how do I find it?

It's a wonder that we get anything done...
  10. :banana Hey I love food... and I had to grieve the loss of it. I used to vacation around it...Where was the great cuisine? ect... but now I realize that is not a great support like a good friend. It doesen't listen the way that you all do. It was in fact like that boyfriend that I had in college that did everything wrong when we weren't together and lied when we were, (and I did not understand that until I met my husband....) Well that was food... that bad boyfriend that made me feel good until I looked in the mirror or tried on those new jeans that were two sizes larger and still didn't fit. I still struggle with the loss at times and can not wait until the day that I no longer am in love with it... I remember when I ran into my ex that always had control over my emotions and I did not feel anything...that's how I new I was over him.... When the day comes that I can feel stressed and don't suppress the urge to eat will be indeed a great day. Good luck!
  11. so has the band helped? Can't you still eat that way?...sorry a little curious
  12. Hey Sex Counts??? The I had about 15 mins worth of excercise this morning...lol Don't tell my hubbie I said the real time if he asks I said it was an hour
  13. I'm in you know I started jogging again!
  14. Lisa what does NSV stand for??? Thanks blossom, when you start running it's best to start one block at a time...Oh and Nancy you are so right I feel so much more heathy. Zoe Hammer is a sport done in track in field where a metal ball is attached to steel wire and flung into a field... I guess you have to see it to understand it and do it to love it! Niecy Thanks for the support!
  15. Hey don't get me wrong I completly understand that everyone is different... I am just a 1 fill girl. Hey but maybe if I were doing the up and down thing maybe I would fill again too.
  16. Michelle, I can only imagine what you are going through... I had cancer and I hated the look in my parents eyes. Mine was minor but it still scared the crap out of my parents. SO my prayers and thoughts are with you...Your strength amazes me!
  17. What a pretty girl you are and so inspirational... I loved your post. I am a med losser, but I think the journey must be our own. I always am reminded of one of my ww meeting before the banding when I would be discouraged my counslor would say look you've lost xx amount and I would say "yes but I though it would be more by now" and she would say but you could have gained that instead. You have made a move in a very positive direction and I am glad that you see it and inspire us all with your journey!
  18. Marie, Hi, How have you been? I have not tossed any other than in demos for my freshmen. I should though. The knee is feeling fresh. Thanks for remembering!

Yulkl ooooh I hate coffee.... but if you ask me Chi Tea will do you fine. But I admit I don't drink that the way I used to. Good luck!
  21. So I decided to step up the excersize. The band is doing it's job and now it's time for me to do mine. I have re-habbed the knee to the point that I can yes jog! I can't believe it. I ran 1/2 mile today. I know it does not sound like much... but when you consider just 4 mothes ago I was having trouble walking and had to take anti inflams. Today after my workout, I ended up walking the rest of the mile, I did not have any swelling or pain and this my second workout. I had been sticking to the eliptical machine. Don't worry I am not going to over do it I just wanted to see how it felt. So for the majority I am going to stick to the eliptical machine, but now that I know I can I am going to some jog/walking around the track on the grass. I was just so excited I had to share! :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh
  22. I could not even think about another fill I think I am strange. I had one fill with the swedish band and I am only at 2cc and if I am not careful I can still pb... I avoid bread almost always because that gives me the most problems. I am not loosing more than ... let's see I have lost 40lbs since june oh hell howmany weeks is that 17 weeks 2.3 per week hey that's not as bad as I thought if I average it out. However I lost 15 of the 40 the first 3 weeks on the liquid diet. And if you take that away I think I am about 1.6 a week, still cool. I don't know if I will ever get another fill.
  23. I often have to here my stomic rumble before I eat and then of course my eyes are to big for my stomic...but in general I can tell when I full because I feel icky if I eat any more.
  24. Lisa I am glad that everything is going better for you.n I wanna be your friend too. Hey there is one thing I wanted to say about you and your hubby. If he has anger issues you should probably seek some counsling. It shouldn't come to blows (not literlay) for couples to get help. You both are going through changes because of you weightloss and as you shrink your husband may feel as if he is gertting larger or (happining to my hubby now that I weigh less than him) Sometimes you can't do it alone. Men don't usually seek the council of other men (that's why they die younger) It has been changing our lives. My husband went alone through our insurance...he had private issues....and we went together to our pastor. It made a beig difference. Good Luck!
