I am 3 weeks post surgery and also now feel really good. I had a rough first week and also felt like why did i do something this drastic. But that has changed now and I feel pleased with my decision.
Since I have been on mushies my appetite has really increased and I am definitely craving food now. My sense of smell and taste seems to have intensified as well. When I smell certain foods I really fancy them.
I am eating around 800 -900 calories a day which I think is the reason the weight loss is slower as it affects our metabolism, and this almost needs a kick start.
I too want to constantly weigh myself but I am now doing weekly weigh ins as it was becoming an obsession. Our weights vary so much from day to day anyway.
    Good Luck on your journey

I will have lap band surgery the 19th. My biggest fear is exactly what you are saying about the scale not showing you what you feel it should at the point you are now. It is hard not to get anxious about seeing the pounds you have struggled to get off go quickly!! I am also afraid that I won't be able to eat some of the foods I also enjoyed... salads, and a good steak!! Also how to conquer the head hunger!! I wish you all the luck!!

I am still pre-band and love reading posts like these. Sounds like you are really doing beautifully and you're right on track. Your body is undergoing a tremendous adjustment -- not just recovery from the surgery but settling into this new mode of lower calorie intake. And it's so great that you can implement will power knowing that it is temporary. That's been the thing, really, an inability to sustain will power over appetite for long enough to lose the weight then maintain the loss. I could always make it a while on a new regime but without the band just couldn't keep it going. One failed attempt after another. So looking forward to this new tool to dim that appetite and allow me to lose weight and home in on my body's signals for hunger. The knowing how to stop. Best wishes to you and thanks for blogging!

You're doing super. When you start any new way of eating you get head aches from cutting out carbs. I learned that one over 25 years ago.
When walking around a zoo you don;t realize how much walking you do and it's great exercise.

It took me 7 months to decide if I wanted to take this journey and on May 1st, 2013 I did. You are going to do just fine. Let me know when you get your surgery date.

It's sad that grown adults can act like that. I figured they must miserable people to want to act that way. It doesn't change the fact that it hurts. It's amazing how a comment from a total stranger can hurt so bad. I too am a big believer in Karma though!! Keep your head held high and he will get his.
