As a male, I wholeheartedly endorse this suggestion.

LOL! I used to go to Walmart and buy the 6 pack of Hanes Her Way undies. No more of those ugly granny panties. I now wear a 6 and I buy them seperately - mostly boy shorts. Makes me feel better!
Good luck to you!

Today I put my underwear backwards and have been walking around all day and not even realized it till my third time peeing this afternoon I looked down and saw the writing inside the underwear was on the wrong side of my body. When I was 270 lbs and wore a size 11 underwear there was no way I was pulling up my pants and walking around all day like that because my legs would have been cut off..my butt would never have been covered...and the back would have been so much larger then the front...Not today! Just thought I'd share!

PB=productive burping, when something comes up, but it is not vomit!

Vpamphile reacted to donna12 in Just got stuck-was not fun
for me productive burping or PB'ing is mushed up food I've already eaten that has gotten stuck and without effort it just comes back up, well with maybe a little effort like a burp sensation feeling but the other day I finally threw up at the end. I was sore the rest of the day, finally drank some hot tea and took it easy for dinner that night with Soup since I knew my band was aggravated. Being stuck for me is no pretty sight and definately not fun, I've had my share early on while learning my band and if I had to say what happend the other day I was really hungry, didn't concentrate on my bite size and chewing and I also had just gotten a fill so still adjusting to that.

I am in the mush stage also, I use my food processor a lot and find the Starkist tuna salad packets to be a pre-made mush for times when you are out and about. I also do a lot of yogurt, chicken pureed with Tomato sauce and things like that. I don't love the look of most of it, but it's just 2 weeks then I am on to soft foods!

Vpamphile reacted to Browneyedbandit in Did you get your sex drive back?
I'm three weeks out and have only lost about 20 pounds so far but I have to say that it has ALREADY made a difference for me!! I already feel better about myself and can tell that my tummy has shrunk already as well. Needless to say, my husband is enjoying this new confidence as well!!!! So, I think the answer to your question is definitely YES!! Anxious to see what a difference the next 20 pounds makes! Good luck to you!

Puree stage of your diet doesn't mean chew until it's mush, it means it must be mush before it ever gets into your mouth. This is why others on the puree stage put the chili through a blender before eating it- as you should have too.
If you can blend it into baby food consistency, you can eat it. If it's not mush then you can't eat it until you're past the puree stage.

You & I had surgery on the same day. I too was feeling that way for awhile. I had my first post-op appt Monday & my surgeon thought it was because I wasn't getting enough calories even though I was following the nutritionist's guidelines exact. I added another (approx) 200 daily calories & it made a huge difference the last few days. My Dr said I should be between 800-1000 right now. I hope there's more pep in your step soon

Vpamphile reacted to lellow in BURPING
I lost my ability to burp very early with the band. My dr thought it was funny coz most people burp MORE. I can't burp even if I feel a little bit of restriction.
The one time I was unfilled for more than a day, I relished burping like crazy. I wanted to burp the alphabet!
My partner thinks I'm so ladylike because I don't burp. But I MISS burping like a trooper sometimes!

Vpamphile reacted to B-52 in When YOU are in the Green Zone
I very rarely get hungry, and when I do it is different than before being banded...hard to explain, I have no interest in food...my mind tells me I don't need it...I believe it's the band telling my brain I'm full, even though I'm not full, and may not have eaten in over 18 hours......If I am busy, so at work or out traveling around, I forget to eat altogether...my poor wife has to remind me....
Now, because it's winter I spend more time indoors, in front of the TV all day on Saturdays watching sports......I do tend to graze all day on different Snacks, but not because I am hungry.......but when I do do that, I will do not have any meals...the only thing I eat that day is what I have been grazing on.....so it all evens out....
BTW, as far as will power....No..it all comes quite naturally, as a permanent lifestyle
Before banded, I was addicted to food...could not get enough...I would be driving in my car, see a fast food restaurant and go in a get something, whether I needed to or not...I could think about a particular food item, and have to run out and get it.....and this was besides my normal (?) meals....
would also eta a large sandwich or something just before bedtime....
All that is behind me....even if I wanted to, I CANNOT overeat.....
Last cruise we were on, I threw out all the rules...told myself I was going to test this surgery, and eat whatever and whenever I wanted....I Lost 5 lbs!!
The band worked.....did exactly what it does everyday...where I am and what is offered to me makes no difference!
