I too went to SWLC. I chose it because dr C took the time to always answer questions, his staff were/are supportive and knowledgable and there was great follow up done. Dr c has a great bedside manner and sense of humour. Anesthetist was fantastic too. . All round great experience. I only had surgery 2 weeks ago, so I haven't had a fill yet.

Way to go! I would have to call him dr. Dreamy...his personality matches his looks, he's a nice nice man and very easy on the eyes. He just did my gall bladder operation 2weeks ago. His nursing staff is excellent , best of luck ( you won't need it though) . 2 weeks of Protein Shakes coming up, just grin and bear it and reach out if you need help/advise.

Surgery went great, but am still very tired. Glad to have Protein Shakes today. My tummy likes it better than just clear fluids. No gas pain. Feeling good. Excited to see how following weeks pan out!

Swlc in Ontario. Dr coburn is doing the surgery. I still can't wrap my head round it all. I had galbladdr removed ten years ago. I don't think it was too bad

I am on day 11 pre op. I'm on 3 shakes and green veg...that's it! Honestly, some days will be easier, others you'll just want to pass out from exhaustion. The count down is on, only 3days to go. If anything the weeks go quickly, even though it may not feel like it now

I couldn't feel mine at all at first, so when I finally lost enough stomach fat to feel it I was actually pretty excited.
...my kids weren't nearly as enthusiastic when I ran through the house squealing "wanna feel my port?"

I am having surgery next week. I chose lap band for a few reasons. It's reversible if I decide to have more children. Also, I have always been able to lose the weight (with difficulty) but never been able to keep it off, mostly because of being put on meds that make me over eat. The band will be a physical reminder to me to not gain weight.

any bariatric surgery is a tool to kick start weight loss, but it takes 100 percent commitment from the patient to see lasting results...if you get the band or the bypass or the sleeve or the ds, you will have to change what you eat, how much you eat and develop a whole new mental attitude from dieting letting whichever tool/ wls to help you. by someone just getting the bypass or sleeve or band and continue to overeat, it wont work.
no WLS is not a miracle cure all.
you have to eat better food in smaller amounts
3500 is a pound whether its ate or drank
if you take in more cals than you burn off, you gain weight
so whichever you get and follow the instructions as given
its up to you if you are a success or not

I am also getting banded in the Toronto area but not at swlc. My doctor wants me to do 2 weeks on Opti-fast shakes only. I start on tuesday and my surgery is on the 26th. Best wishes.
