  1. So did you do it? I procrastinated, but finally faxed it off and never looked back. Almost two weeks post op here
  2. I too went to SWLC. I chose it because dr C took the time to always answer questions, his staff were/are supportive and knowledgable and there was great follow up done. Dr c has a great bedside manner and sense of humour. Anesthetist was fantastic too. . All round great experience. I only had surgery 2 weeks ago, so I haven't had a fill yet.
  3. I'm north of Toronto. I had my surgery on march 13th. Where did you have yours done?
  4. Surgery went great, but am still very tired. Glad to have protein shakes today. My tummy likes it better than just clear fluids. No gas pain. Feeling good. Excited to see how following weeks pan out!
  5. Well here I am, three days post op and honestly am doing pretty well. I still am very tired but my tummy hasn't grumbled at me as mush as it did yesterday. So far, I'm 16lbs down, but have many more to go. I have had a small Greek yogurt today and a shake. Will try some soup tonight. It hasn't been a struggle to eat, that said, liquids do go straight through the band. Thanks for all your support. The journey has begun!
  6. Just seeing how its going for you? I'm on day 13, one day of liquids to go! I tried counting down to make it seem better, before I knew it, one day left before my op. exciting and scary at the same time
  7. In theory, easier, but each day is a new adventure. I'm being banded on Wednesday. I too have a family that's constantly hungry and rely on me for meals. I almost killed my husband last week over broccoli! He ate my dinner and only left me a few sticks! Not fair! Anyways, it goes by quickly
  8. I am on day 11 pre op. I'm on 3 shakes and green veg...that's it! Honestly, some days will be easier, others you'll just want to pass out from exhaustion. The count down is on, only 3days to go. If anything the weeks go quickly, even though it may not feel like it now
  9. I am having surgery next week. I chose lap band for a few reasons. It's reversible if I decide to have more children. Also, I have always been able to lose the weight (with difficulty) but never been able to keep it off, mostly because of being put on meds that make me over eat. The band will be a physical reminder to me to not gain weight.
  10. Thanks for the advice and support. It was really quite scary as I was home alone itch my baby.
  11. Hi all, I'm getting banded on march 13 and am getting excited. I am on day 5 of pre op diet, 3 shakes and green veg. On Friday I had an episode similar to a diabetic low... I started shaking and felt very dizzy. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions?
  12. Thanks for the offer but that's way too far for me to come.
  13. Where are you located?

  18. Congratulation on your weight loss so far! You're doing amazingly! I'm not worried just uncertain as to how everything will be after the surgery. I appreciate your honesty and explanation of what is common experiences. It brings me comfort in knowing what to expect.
  19. Swlc in Ontario. Dr coburn is doing the surgery. I still can't wrap my head round it all. I had galbladdr removed ten years ago. I don't think it was too bad
  20. I was thinking of ordering a mix of flavours. Does it taste ok? My surgery date is march 13. Coming up soon!
  21. I'm not planning on stopping my breast feeding. I plan to pump and dump day of surgery. Doc seems to think I can start again the next day. My daughter is nine months old and loves her boobies!
  22. Hi there just wondering if any of the moms out there prepared for and had lap band surgery while breast feeding? Any suggestions or recommendations how your body reacts to changes. Thanks in advance
  23. Any suggestions as to which flavour is better, chocolate or vanilla slim time shakes? I'm putting my order in and don't know which to buy and what proportion if I buy a mix!
