Thank you! My starting weight was 375, me and my husband have been trying to have a child for 4 years. I wasnt expecting to get pregnant this soon! Im still making progress and once this is over im confident my goal weight will be reached.

Hang in there May ladies (and gents)! My surgery was 4/9 and it wasn't a picnic. We are freaking our bodies out an they react in different ways. I have my energy back and start 'regular' food today. Even though i've been grumpy at times,, teary, frustrated and just plain tired, I would NOT change my mind about having this surgery. I am down 43 lbs and loving it! Hang in there and keep your eyes on your long range goals of a healthier life.

I add unflavored Protein Powder to the cold Water portion of the recipe on the box. I put it in a shaker so it mixes well, then add the hot water and Gelatin. Put the mixture in pre chilled containers and refrigerate.

Hey everyone. Surgery went well I was in a room by 11:30 this morning. Up walking by 3 however that made me sick so they just let me walk again at 10. In the morning they will do the swallow test. Then I can finally sip Water or eat ice chips

In 696 more hours I have my surgery!!!! Yaay for May. I can't believe its less than a month away. Next Tuesday is my pre-op day! Come on May!

I got approved today. This morning they fax my papers from dr office to TRICARE and I just received the call with the good news. I schedule for Friday March 1st for my band removed and maybe the same day I'll have RNY, I hope he can do it both in the same time.

It also depends on how big you are before the surgey . I have lost 30 lbs since the 29th of jan but i also have 180 lbs to lose all together so i think thats way it had came off fast . I agree 100% with measuring your food . I measure a 1/4 to 1/2 cup at each sitting 3 to 4 times a day give myself a half a hour to eat if i have left overs in 30mins i trash it . I also keep myself busy for 15mins after eating to stop myself for eating because i think i am hungry ! Its all mind over matter .

My doc had told me before hand there was a small chance he wouldn't be able to do the conversion but really expected it to be fine....I cannot tell you how broken hearted I was when I woke up and mom told me he'd had to delay the RNY....hopeless, I felt so hopeless. However, here I am 11 days post op from the RNY finally!!! I can't help but occasionally think where I'd be now if I was 6 months post-op....but he said with all the inflammation I had, he would have had to have made my pouches Bigger to get a safe staple line....I do not need a bigger pouch thank you very much!!!! so likely you'll all be fine and able to do it all in 1 surgery, but even if you can't, it's still worth it!!!

Mine is scheduled for same day on March 21. I really hope they don't find too much damage and can get it done.

Dec 5, 2012 I had the band removed and the bypass at the same time, also had an ovary, cyst, mass and a lot of scar tissue removed. I am so glad I was able to have both done at the same time.
I think it just depends on your doctor and the amount of damage done by the band. Hopefully you can have both at the same time.

Tried but too much damage, had to wait 6 months between....still glad I did it!
