So, the teacher in me wants to remind my fellow weight loss friends that you LOSE weight - you don't LOOSE it. We are losing weight - we are not loosing weight! Now - our skin is loose and our clothes are loose as we LOSE this weight - but we are NOT loosing the weight! Hope this little english lesson helps! Keep up the losing weight so that our clothes are loose (and unfortunately our skin is loose too).

Hi everyone. Hope yawll are doing fabulous?. I had a rough time. There about 3 weeks after surgery. Didn't lose a pound for like 2 weeks. But I wasn't getting all my Protein or fluids in either. I'm at 45 lbs and I'm 2 months out, nor where I wanted to be,but at least that's 45 lbs that wont be coming back. Tomorrow, my husband is having his Gastric Bypass surgery. On my 2 month surgerversary. I know I'll do better since he's having his. I can't let him lose more than me now can I.

Remember that some people add the pounds in that they had when they started the whole process and not surgery date. Not saying you quoted on one of those. Also, the more weight there is the more weight there is to lose. (goodness i hate how that sounds) But each of our bodies will lose weight as it can.
I thought in the beginning I was a slow loser. However, I am almost (1 week shy) of my 3 month mark. I have lost 50. 3 months ago I was 237, now I'm 187. Wow that's amazing I think. Imagine what I would have done w/o the surgery, definitely not 50. Maybe 5 if I was lucky.
Think of the big picture and not by the day by day or week by week. Also you might not lose on the scale, but can be in measurements.

It's great that you have been doing well, but I think people are being honest about their challenges. The surgery does not fix the mind. Look at it this way, temptation is our teacher. How do you cope? What is really triggering you?
Please don't take this the wrong way, but I teach this...
I'm also seeing a common cognitive distortion a lot of us employ: "all or nothing" thinking. If we make a misstep, every thing is ruined. Try to remember if you do make a mistake, it doesn't cancel out all those good weeks.

I find myself giving my husband looks while he's eating. Thinking are you really going to eat that second plate of spaghetti, really? Then I remind myself at least he eats slower than I did. I would had been done with my second plate 30mins ago! It's kinda ironic and scary!

I was told that at some point like a year out I will be able to have steak occasionally Some people don't tolerate red beef well but it is a great Protein.
I know it can be discouraging but there are lots of people on here that work the program like they are suppose to. We are all human and sometimes we get tempted and cheat but most if they really want the WLS to work and use it as the great tool it is will stick to what their specific program tells them to do. I do understand when you come upon posts that are asking when they can eat all those wrong foods as this is not why you had the surgery. Most of us ate those foods and that is what got us into trouble.
Kudos to you for being 11 weeks out and sticking to the program. You will be one of the very successful ones. Just don't give up because there really are some awesome people on here with lots of experience who have been very successful and like I said before followed their program like their surgeon asked them too.

I felt the same way about a girl crunching on some potatoe chips today in class! In my mind I was saying how bad those chips are for her and if she only knew but I secretly wanted some lmao!

    Hi Bekah,
Sorry to hear you are discouraged! We all have our moments, and I've definately had mine! I'm only 7weeks out. I had a little steak this week, and in no way did I feel like I was cheating. If at some point I was able to try a little cookie or whatever, I'm not worried about it. Unless you are worried about food addictions or triggers, I think some things (in our portion controlled sizes) in big moderation are okay. I won't have a steak every week, but it was nice to taste it and it stayed down!!! How far out are you? I think you need to look at what's really driving you to cheat, because only you can make that decision. I'm glad that you posted and are being honest, that takes a lot of courage! Hang in there, you can do it!

I take it just as needed. I have thought about taking it prior to drinking Protein Shakes but somedays the Protein shakes go down good. So for now I just have it on hand for those moments..Nothing worse then being nauseated. When that happens I don't want to eat or drink and before having Zofran got myself dehydrated one day so the benefit of the Zofran is tremendous.

I'm sitting in class right now and there is a very obese woman sitting behind me eating a cheeseburger and 1/4 lb bag of fries and gulping on a huge soda. It's gross listening to her eat and gulp her soda.
I realized I used to eat and drink like this but dear God! I didn't realize until today I don't miss soda. I don't miss it all.
I feel horrible to be critical since I was as big as her. I think maybe I'm envious of not eating what is but I don't miss it and would be satisfied with a bite but she loud reaching loud. Ugh sorry needed to vent. Usually I was walk away but she is right behind me.

I'm 7weeks out and wondering the same thing. I had a turkey burger (on lettuce) Tues and Wed for dinner. Wed I got sick after eating. Tonight I had tender chix (which I've had before) and I dumped again! It's crazy how some days no issues, and then bahm! I feel like every time I think about what I'm going to eat or try something, I get nauseous. Thanks for reminding I still have some Zofran left over. Maybe I need to talk to my DR about a prescription? Nienie do you take it everyday, or just as needed?
