    Hi Everybody,
I've been silent for a long time. Over the Xmas holidays I had some setbacks, not the band, only me and life. I'm back on track and have reached the important intermediate goal of Onederland. My emphasis for now is Protein first. I'm hoping for some visual changes soon and dumping most of my larger clothes. At half-way through my weight loss journey I need to keep up the momentum. Do any of you have anything to say to help me stay successful?
    thanks,
    the laughing cat

I don't know about only eating 1 or 2 meals per day. It is more likely to be 3 meals plus some planned Snacks. the 2 meals or less Utopia that some Dr's describe DOES NOT EXIST.

Mine is still fairly new to me and I'm still learning to live with it so it's always on my mind when I eat. I don't actually "feel" it though.

KAATNS reacted to AmineR8705 in My paperwork is final and being sent to my Insurance!!
So I have been part of this Lap Band process for about a month and half now and I gotta say, I'm pretty excited to get this new journey started. I just received word this morning that all my paper work is final and that it should be submitted to my insurance as of today or tomorrow. The thought of being more healthy and losing weight is starting to settle in. I hope I don't have any issues getting approved and that I don't have to jump through any hoops to get approval.
I have been overweight for most of my young life since I was 17. I'm currently 26 years of age and I have a BMI of 44.5 and I'm a tall gentlemen at 6'2. I have been on numerous diets in the past 5-6 years and have been successful at losing weight but I would gain it right back over and over again. I can tell you right now that I love food and that's the way it is and that's my biggest problem along with my portion sizes. I'm sure a lot of you can relate to the portion sizes along with "head hunger". It's been a crazy past two years, I'm on High Blood Pressure medicine along with signs of diabetes. I'm ready for the new lifestyle change and becoming a healthier person and setting the bar high for myself.
I have never really posted in details about myself on here but I'm glad I did and it sure feels good!! It will be just a matter of time before I know if I get approved or not. I shouldn't have an issue *fingers crossed*.
Well its off to work for me. Have a good day ya'll!!

I wish I hadn't told my co-workers because they are always asking me how much I've lost? That really annoys me, especially since I am slow losing.

Its been sometime since I've been on LBT... I missed ya'll. You all helped me get through the challenging parts of this journey(Although, there has not been that many). I have had several stuck episodes, I had to learn how to eat again. I'm rarely ever hungry, more thirsty than anything. food is no longer my bestfriend. so far I only have 3.5 cc in my band. Since the very beginning of this weightloss journey I have loss 57 pounds. I can't explain in words how wonderful I feel (before/current pictures coming soon). I still have NO clothes, I think my body is shrinking more than my actual weight is coming off, I started in a size 26, now I'm in a 20, but I still wear my 22's with a belt because I can't afford clothes right now, I do shop at the second hand stores every now and then.
I basically dropped in to say that I'm still EXCITED the same way I was excitied before (I'm not getting paid to say this, I'm a normal person with a normal background). No, this has NOT been easy. I miss food (not saying that I can't eat, but I miss certain foods) I use to ABSOLUTELY LOVE BROCCILI, I would eat it almost every day.I broke down and cried after I got stuck eating it. After I got stuck I thought maybe I didnt chew enough so I tried again, SAME THING. I also miss bread and Pasta, I tried pasta, it went down, but digesting it was CRAZY.
I'm far from a success story, but I know this was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I love my new life!!

I don't feel mine...physically wouldn't know its there, unless I'm eating or maybe drinking something thick or fast. Just letting it do its thing...

It's probably normal, just be sure you're staying hydrated and follow your doctor's instructions. You can always call the office just to be certain. Good luck to you!

libbyb....I'm sorry you get stuck often, but it DOES NOT and should not happen if your band is adequately adjusted. I have been banded for 17 months, have lost 90 pounds & have only been stuck (to the point of PB) 3 times, ALL my fault!!! I was super hungry, took huge bites & didn't chew! I knew as soon as I swallowed I was going to be in trouble! I have read about a lot of people who get stuck frequently & I just don't get it....I COULD NOT have stuck with this if it happened "more than you might think". I don't know how y'all do it that have this problem frequently!!!
cnotche....I wish someone would have told me I'd have so much extra skin & an overhang of fat/skin that would need to be removed! Then, I would have started saving for the TT the day I was banded!
I wish someone told me it was going to be this easy!
I wish someone told me to start taking Gas-X the evening of surgery to get rid of the gas....that was the MOST painful part of the whole surgery....that dang gas that rose to my shoulders & made me feel like my collarbones were going to break! Once I started taking the Gas-X several days PO, it dissipated fairly quickly.
Like steph04 said, don't compare yourself to anyone else's progress. This is hard, but you need to stay focussed on you & only you.

Your body will make strange noises at the most inappropriate times. As much as I read it, chewing well and eating slow really are important! Always know where the nearest restroom is located in a restaurant just in case you get stuck or have a PB. Don't compare your progress to anyone else's. Good luck on your journey!
