  1. My doctor did mine for 2 weeks, which was plenty for me.
  2. Hello and welcome!
  3. It's all about making good food choices and following your doctor's post-op plan. Hopefully the band will help you feel satisfied longer and you will make good food choices. I would recommend that you start tracking your calories on My Fitness Pal or another app to stay within your doctor's guidelines. For me, the band helps keep me satisfied for longer periods of time and I don't really have the need to feel "full" anymore. Everyone is different though. Best wishes to you! Wishing you a speedy recovery.
  4. You're doing great! Actual weight loss varies from person to person, but keep in mind it is possible to gain a little post-op during Bandster Hell, which is pretty normal according to my doctor. Just hang in there and don't give up. Congrats on your new journey!
  5. Did you enjoy your vacation?? That's what is important, not the number on the scale. Today is a new day friend.
  6. I know exactly what you mean! My nurse told me I wasn't eating enough (SAY WHAT!?). I had a hard time wrapping my head around that one. You want me to eat more and I'm not even hungry??? I still struggle with it sometimes, but I'm trying to find that good balance. Most days I don't even hit 1200 calories and I'm totally fine with it hunger wise, but I have been a slow loser so who knows?? Let us know what your nutritionist says.
  7. Amazing loss! Congrats to you!
  8. Yes to an extent. For me it's more about feeling better about myself and being more confident in my own skin. I try not to worry what other people think of me, but having the added confidence has put a boost in my self-esteem and a little pep in my step.
  9. It is needed during surgery because of the anesthesia. Be sure to ask your team any questions you may have. The tube will be in and out while your asleep and you won't even know it was there, except for maybe a slight sore throat post-op. It really is for your benefit. Best wishes to you!!
  10. Heck yeah girlfriend! Proud of you!
  11. Hope you are recovering well!
  12. GNC Total Lean Vanilla Bean or Chocolate- you can taste before your purchase. I buy the ready to drink bottles.
  13. I would suggest a visit to your nutritionist to help you select better food choices. Are you tracking your calories? Exercising? Also, try not to focus on feeling full, but rather feeling satisfied on smaller portions. If you are able to eat 4 or 5 pieces of pizza, you may not be properly adjusted. Utilize your bariatric team, they are there to help you. Best wishes.
  14. I consider myself a slow loser, but a slow loss is better than no loss. It has taken me almost 6 months to lose 35 pounds. Please don't compare your progress to others because it will get you down. Just focus on YOU! Best wishes!
  15. I started running at around 215 I think. When I first started, I could barely walk 10 minutes on the treadmill. I just started adding time and speed each time I walked and before I knew it, I was running. I love it. I try to add just one minute to each workout and it really works. Most of the time I cover the monitor with a towel so I don't focus on the numbers, but let my body tell me when I'm done. I NEVER thought I would enjoy it, but I do.
  16. Wishing you all the best!
  17. After almost 6 months, I finally hit ONEDERLAND while on vacation in Florida! I had to stop at Bed, Bath & Beyond to find a scale (thanks Creekwood!) and stepped on, then stepped off, then back on to make sure of what I was seeing! I'm beyond excited, but not only about the number on the scale, but about how my life has changed since I decided to get healthy. I've learned to LOVE exercise, especially running. Who knew??!! And I've also learned to control the food and not let the food control me. It's such a wonderful, liberating feeling. I'm also so very grateful for the friends I've made here as well. There have been days that I wanted to quit trying, felt frustrated or just made poor choices, but I can always count on my friend Catfish to keep me motivated or inspired to keep going and never give up. But most of all, I'm just excited to have my life back and to enjoy it a little. I'm a happy girl!
  18. So awesome, congrats!!
  19. It's okay, cry it out then take a deep breath. You CAN do this! Ask your doctor if you can take something for the upset stomach and stick with your post-op diet. You got this girl!
  20. For me, I no longer have a desire to feel "full" but rather just satisfy my hunger. I didn't fully understand the concept until I was properly adjusted and learned to live with my band. It does takes some time, practice and patience, but you will get there.
