  7. I’m 5 days post op and my belly rumbles loud Like an irritated volcano and I have diarrhea (tmi?) 6-7 times a day. Is this normal?
  8. Thank you..today is much better than yesterday! Still sore but no cramping or vomiting.

  10. I’m 3 days post op from plication to bypass revision and am Miserable! Between the intense stomach cramps to the diarrhea, dry heaves and sweats, I can say this is not fun! Any recommendations? Please tell me this will get better. It seems I’m either sleeping or on the toilet. I’m trying to walk and get fluids down but between the other two things there just doesn’t seem to be the time.

  12. I have bypass tomorrow morning. I walked 3 miles a day with no issues. How long after surgery were you all able to walk your normal distance?

  14. My post op weight was 291 on 3/26, I'm now going back and forth between 262-266. It came off quick but has been a struggle lately.
  15. I had the surgery with Dr. Ortiz in Mexico the end of March. So far I couldn't be happier. I'm down 45 lbs with very little exercise yet and feel great. It's amazing how little u need to eat to feel full. Takes some getting used to...but I agree, I do feel somewhat hungry every couple hrs but I think that's good because it gets your metabolism moving. I have a friend that had bypass and suffers daily with side effects..he can't keep anything down after two years.
  16. My wife and I are a month out. She is down 18 lbs and I'm down 37 from our pre op weight. We are eating normal foods and everything has been great. The only thing that's hard is getting use to eating so little and feeling so full. The weight loss is slow it seems but we need to learn how to quit checking the scale daily.
  17. I am on day 15 of my post op diet. I'm getting sick of soups and wondering what I can eat on the "soft food" diet which starts in a few days. I have munched on a couple Very small pieces of ham but feel like there's a rock in my gut after. Makes me wonder how I'll be able to eat real food soon. Anyone else been thru this?
  18. So my wife and I are 10 days out and doing well with the creamy soups but it's getting old. Any suggestions or ideas for something different? Do we need to do the full 3 week liquid diet? We both lost weight the first week and now have gone 3 days of losing nothing. Any input would be great.
  19. Good luck! My wife and I saw Dr Ortiz on March 26th and have been happy with everything so far.
  20. 1 week has passed and my wife an I are both feeling pretty good. The liquid only is gonna be a struggle for the 1st three weeks and it's hard to tell at times if I'm having hunger pains or cramping. I'm sure it will take some getting used too. Other than the first day after surgery, I can say that it has not slowed us down. We spent the weekend doing spring cleaning, washing cars, etc. Hope this helps
  21. 5 days out and my pain is at a 4. However my wife is at an 8-9. She is feeling bloated and said she feels like her stomach is gonna "pop". Any thoughts? I also have no problem drinking yogurts, broth, or protein shakes. Is this wrong? I drank a 12oz protein shake in 5-10 minutes with very little cramping.
  22. Two days out of surgery. Stomach cramps are a bit painful and happen every time we drink anything BUT we were able to walk around the San Diego Zoo for 5 hours with maybe 3 - 2 minute rests. If the spasms are the worst part, we will be just fine.
