  1. We were at a ski resort in Brianhead, UT, which is up the mountain from Cedar City. Boy, I sure wish we could travel more and more and more. I'm one of those that can't wait to retire and buy a Winnebago! Wanna come?
  2. I'm always in for some fun, but nobody is answering the line... I'll try again tomorrow. But since you asked, I'm still laughing my ass off at something that happened yesterday. Last week, I sent a girlfriend (no names) a gag gift.. a grown-up "toy" if you will. Yesterday the United States Post Office left a message on my answering machine stating they are holding a VIBRATING PACKAGE. I laughed so hard that I started sobbing at my desk, because I had to call the post office in order for them to deliver the parcel. Make a note: The US Post Office must either verify the contents of "vibrating parcels" or they are forced to open them.
  3. Hey, where's everyone else's pics? There was a 4th of July weekend... did I miss something? Pics, please! Betty... hello? What about that awesome trip you took?
  4. Vera, you crack me up cause I have no idea what the heck you're talking about. And now I'm intrigued at the idea of "less restriction at sea level." Things that make you go hmmmmm.... I'm off to 6,000 feet elevation this weekend. That's still not 11,000, but I'm going to see if I feel a difference. I really need to get serious about getting my new port because that restriction was so awesome. I ordered a full meal, with salad. Chris ordered a full meal with soup. I traded in my entire meal just for his appetizer soup, which wasn't even easy going down. I brought my entire meal, plus salad up to my room and ended up throwing away a baby-back rib dinner! ME, throwing away ribs? Elevation rocks!
  5. What the heck is so wrong with splurging on yourself and buying a couple new new capris and shorts for the summer? Huh? You've earned the reward 60 times over. Go shopping! $50 bucks can get you a couple capris, some shorts and even a tank or two. You can feel extra good in a month or two when you donate them to charity (tax deduction) or take them to a clothing exchange for smaller sizes. Why was it okay to blow gobs of dough on junk food, french fried, fast food? Now live a little. Go shopping. That's an order.
  6. If he's a good gastric bypass surgeon, then I would have no problem going to a guy that's only done 15. Past experience speaks volumes, and I'd think the Band would be easier to place than all those cuts and stitches required in an actual bypass. If he's got a stellar reputation for his bypass skills, I would be happy to be his #16 if that meant avoiding Mexico.
  7. Jodie, if I had my way, everyone would have tons of picture threads because I also love photos. I don't even care if I know the people; I could look at pictures all day. Unfortunately, I'm not able to see/view anything you've posted. Is it me? Can anyone see them?
  8. Dr. Pleatman, how come you haven't accepted my offer of running a clinic out of my Vegas home? Please? Okay, kidding, but thanks for the intro. I really wish someone like you would come to Vegas though.

Jenna, no worries. Last year we had digital cameras going and were posting real-time pictures because there was a whole "Pity Party" going on at LBT. We were all on the computer with a live thread going, so there will be plenty of pics.
  10. I guess I shoulda said they were pics from West Heaven. Paula, all those places that John Denver sings about, Like the Shennadoah (sp) River and Rocky Mountains, and all the fiddle players singin' about them Blue Ridge Mountains... for now those places are only dreams to me. One day I would love to see something less "west." Paula, are you referring to the famous, "Weenie Bite" game? If so, that was hysterical!. They hang a weenie from a rope (held up by polls.) The girl has to pick her favorite condiment. After the dip it in mustard or ketchup, the guy drives under the weenie as slow as he can, while the woman has to stand up on the back of the bike and try to bite the weenie. A girl named Laurie won, and for the rest of the night the crowd would suddenly burst in a loud chant of "LAURIE, LAURIE, LAURIE." Funny stuff! I wish we could have stayed longer and seen more... I read about some of the places you guys have seen and wish YOU (hello) would post me some pics! Chris and I are towing one bike up to Big Bear this weekend with the dogs to finish off our summer vacation. We would have loved Maui or Europe, but all we can afford for now are little weekend get-aways, but I'll take them!
  11. Wait, I'm thinking you're not from the US considering I have no idea what a Kit is. Also, are you talking about Jelly or what we call Jello? Cause if you're talking about Jello, as in gelatin, then you can make a whole pool with just ice cubes. It won't be as firm as you'd like it, but just buy two kiddy pools. fill the bottom one up with ice, then set the second pool on top of the ice. Make the Jello using minimum water and almost all ice cubes. It won't set hard-hard, but it will be floppy fun!
  12. One question, Annette... where the HELL have you been all my life? I lied cause I have another question. Where's my invitation?
  13. I guess I'm weird cause I just pretended I was part of some scientific experiment that would cure the world. Yep, they stick electrodes anywhere and everywhere, then they cram tubes in your nose or over your face and you're expected to sleep comfortably (think Houdini.) But because I was finally getting air for the first time in a decade, I was actually able to sleep through most of it, which was Heaven.
  14. I would snap straight up like an arrow out of a dead sleep gasping for air. Sleep Apnea closes off your airways when you sleep and causes your heart to stop beating. It used to scare the hell out of me. In a nutshell, it sucks. I went for the sleep studies. They were quite comfy, but they might not let you use a fan since they are trying to get some real readings... they might think you need the fan to help you breathe (does that make sense?) Then again, maybe they'll let you use the fan with no problem. Go get the study - it will give you peace of mind, and if you have Apnea, they'll give you a machine to sleep with. Once you get used to it, you'll sleep like a baby for the first time in years.
  15. I had some negative TJ experiences as well, and my heart breaks for anyone that loses their band. I still have my band, but I don't have a port (thanks to Mexican doctors I've had two ports removed.) Good luck to you, and thank you for posting your experience to warn others against the dangers that can take place. Good luck.

Just think of my place as Hippy Haven where anything goes! Come barefoot, drunk, naked... Actually, the only thing I'm not into is drugs (unless my Doc prescribes them, then Oh Yeah!) So just hide your Ganja and party till you puke. Okay, don't really puke, but let your hair down or shave it off if you gotta but just come on in and have a good time.
  17. I know how you feel because I freaked out and wanted to pull my Band out in the beginning, too (I think a lot of us felt that way.) Take it from me, it will get better. And I'm the resident expert on complications since I've already had 4 major Band related surgeries and two ports removed. I am in debt up to my ears, but I know there's hope, and I know one day I'll start losing weight again. Just be positive, it will get better.
  18. Do you think it was easy to admit my husband was right when he bought a new Harley? That's when the fun began! I highly recommend it to anyone. My dog has this toy called a Jolly Ball. She bugs me to death to play with her, but all I have to do is sit on the pool edge and she goes nuts with that thing (but leaves me completely alone.) But if I walk in the house, she instantly stops playing with it. My point is that it's so much more fun when you share good times with friends, so thanks everyone for sharing my weekend Kelly, no bash required - the key is always under the rock for you.

Trish, that's the coolest thing I ever did see at LBT! How the heck did you do that, and will you make me something cool for my signature? I cut and pasted this from Penni way back: "OK here goes. September 9, 10, and 11 weekend in Vegas for the BASH is set in stone. Plan accordingly." Penni, is this still accurate? I guess I should know which weekend to clean the house and polish Sachi's nails for company. You can bring anything or nothing... I will be doing a huge salad bar and poo-poo platter (appetizer finger food type things.) Trust me, nobody - I mean nobody - has ever gone hungry at my house.
  20. Heaven isn't all in one place, you just gotta drive far to find it! Jack, what's wrong with a pink Harley? What's wrong with a pink anything? Just think pink.
  21. Actually, I don't think I could ever do it. I had Carpal Tunnel surgery and nearly had the same nervous breakdown when they removed the bandages to take out 8 tiny stiches in a scar less than 2 inches. Some people actually enjoy all the bodily injury stuff, but I'm with you!
  22. You know what, girl? The pain will be so, so worth it in the end. I bet everyone else will be as envious as me! I'm glad to see you back home safe. You'll start feeling a touch better every day, then suddenly you'll be this hot thang and the pain will be a distant memory. I'm really happy for you and smiling to think of how great you'll look and feel.

Screw it. Call in sick and go to the doctor. Cry your brains out, shake, hyperventilate. Tell him you can't face your co-workers due to the humility, then have him write you a prescription for anti-anxiety meds, therapy, and 30 days of disability due to post-traumatic stress. Then they'll fire the bitch. You can flush the pills and spend the next month floating on a raft drinking Crystal Light out of a coconut. I am going to throw up now. This sickens me, and I'm sorry she caused you so much pain.
  24. Is this a joke? Cause you knew dern well that I'd be the first to respond! But I ain't saying anything till someone else does! XXX
  25. I got a few at JC Penny. They work great cuz I have a tiny cup size so I can't buy many plus-size bras. Only a couple bucks each.
