Constpation 3 weeks post op
I just started soft foods last night but I am still constipated for the most part. I have taken ducolax and it has helped me but I think as I eat more and drink more it will help. I wish you luck!!

First day on soft foods- help!
Turns out I got hungry so I had some cottage cheese (about 3/4 of my half a cup) and I felt satisfied. I'm so confused. Haha

Soft foods day 2 and confused
Yesterday was my first day with soft food and I didn't hit my protein target (off by 5 grams from my minimum). I was told I was allowed 1-2 snacks I necessary. My nutritionist told me to split one protein shake in half between breakfast and lunch now since I'm on food, making my protein intake lower now. Do I have a snack of cottage cheese or skip it and wait for lunch? I'm nervous I won't hit my protein intake..

First day on soft foods- help!
Thank you all for your help! I use my fitness pal already and swear by it! Also, when I first started eating I waited 5 minutes in between bites because I didn't know how fast to eat (lol). I guess I'll pay more attention today- yesterday was a bit of a trial I guess. Thanks again!

First day on soft foods- help!
I finally transitioned to soft foods today and I am looking for advice. My dinner co sister of 1 egg and 1 egg white (because I measured it before I cooked it and it was 3 oz), 3 oz of mushrooms, and a dot of fat free shredded cheddar cheese. Is that too much! I'm following my doctors guidelines on 3 oz protein and 3 oz veggies- but I have no clue! I took small bites and as I got about halfway through I started losing interest but finished because I wanted to make are I had adequate protein. It took me 50 minutes to eat! Was this too big of a meal? This is all so new and scary!

Recent Rocklanders???
I've been to the support group at Good Sam as a pre-op obligation through my doctor (Dr. Rivera). Those are actually his support groups. A nutritionist ran the group and there was a woman there who had the sleeve and many other pre-op patients also. It did help me know what to expect going into this. The nutritionist was prepared with a recipe and some other helpful guidelines to stay successful on this journey. I may start going to those, I'm not sure yet.

medical alert tag
I think this is a great idea but unfortunately I don't have one. I don't even have a LapBand ID card which I will talk to my doctor about. I did, however, google medical ID cards and I found a website that I was able to fill in my information in and I printed it out and put it with my license and insurance cards. It lists on there that I have LapBand and it helped put me at ease. Just a suggestion

Dry Chicken solution?
Hi everyone! I'm starting my soft foods next week, and I remember my doctor saying I was allowed to have chicken. If I find out I'm not allowed, I guess this question will still be helpful when I'm on solids. When you go out to eat and order chicken, how do you ensure that it's not too dry that would accidentally cause a stuck episode? I would be in such a panic if I had chicken that happened to be too dry and I had a stuck episode. Any tips?

Tomorrow, my life changes.
Good luck and congratulations!! All of your emotions are completely normal! Expect to be in pain and immobile because if you expect the worst, it can only be better. sleeping may be difficult so have lots of pillows ready. Make sure you keep drinking and moving afterwards b/c it will help you move gas around. Just remember you will get through it, even at your worst, you will get through it! Also, you may wanna wash your sheets ahead of time b/c you'll probably be in bed for a few days! Best of luck! Keep us posted!

I've seen many people say that they're eating a cup of food and I'm confused. My doctor recommends 3 oz. of meat and veggies.. how does that compare to 1 cup? I'm obviously going to follow my doctors instructions, but I was just wondering.. Thanks so much- sorry if I sound silly
