  1. good to know! thanks I'm going to check out that vitamixer..
  2. hmm, interesting. I go from Protein shakes for 2 weeks to 2 weeks of mushy/soft foods then to solids. It's amazing how every doctor is so different. I'll have to check with my doctor and nutritionist. Thanks Missy
  3. aww, thank you! I wanted to ask you, what is your Pinterest link? You've mentioned a lot of great pins you've found on Pinterest and I'd love to take a look at them
  4. Hey everyone. Ill be starting Mushies and soft foods in 2 weeks and I wanted to know what you all think. My doctor has me roomed applesauce, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, even finely chopped eggs.. Would you consider chilli to be part of this phase?
  5. I'm 4 days post op and I've been an emotional wreck! I have felt everything you have, so don't worry you're not alone. I think our bodies and minds are going through withdrawals right now and any all all emotions are totally expected, acceptable, and completely justified. Don't let the struggle blur your focus of your goal. Stay positive! The harder the struggle the more worth it in the end. The struggles are character defining moments in your journey. You can do this! Utilize these boards endlessly! Venting and knowing you have support are crucial! Best of luck and stay strong! I believe in you!!
  6. Awe thanks Missy! And Chicago I'm definitely going to check yours out!
  7. that's so weird! Sorry, Missy! Here's the link Confessions of a Foodaholic
  8. click on the picture "confessions of a foodaholic"
  9. Thank you B-52! Very insightful! I admire how knowledgeable you are about you band! I am aiming for that!
  10. I was banded 4 days ago and sleep has been annoying. The first night was very rough. I'm a stomach and side sleeper and I was only able to sleep on my back. I woke up a lot but I had pillows on each side of me to try and help. When I layed flat, the gas pains got so intense that I woke up crying. I decided to sleep sitting up in my bed so I was propped up with pillows. Eventually I was up at 4 for the rest of the day. The nights tend to be long but they are getting easier and easier. I slept on my sides for a little while last night which was exciting. You'll get through it, I promise!
  11. Hey everyone! I'm not advertising my personal blog, but I have one that I use to talk about my LapBand journey and I was wondering if any of you have one also. I love reading other people's blogs- reading about their journey every step of the way! If you have one, would you please share it? If anyone is interested, mine is in my signature.
  12. Thank You! I'm happy this is normal... I'm getting so paranoid with every feeling I have! lol I guess it's because I don't know what to expect Thanks again!
  13. I am 4 days postop and I've noticed that I can almost possibly feel my band in the morning. I mean, I will wake up, and not be hungry but I almost feel like something is in my upper stomach right beneath my chest (where the band is). When I sit down, i can feel my heartbeat in my chest/stomach. Is this normal?
  14. Me neither.. Miracle Noodles are different. http://www.miraclenoodle.com/default.aspx I posted that link so you could read about them. They have no fat, no sugar, no calories, and less than 1g of carbs. Hopefully I have offered something to all of you. I am definitely going to ask my doctor about this. Thanks everyone
  15. I'm 3 days post op and I bought the Miracle noodles and wanted to know if that would considered a mushy food. How does everyone prepare it? I'd love some recipes! I don't start Mushies for another 2 weeks but I want to be prepared.
  16. I have a 10cc band with 3cc put in during surgery
  17. What a relief!! Thank you for sharing! You helped put things into perspective for me. I'm happy I'm not going crazy! Lol. I do have a blog which I turn to and I'm going to have to utilize much more these days I bet! Thanks again!!
  18. That's wonderful! I wish I didn't have an interest in food. I'm 2 days post op and I am starting to crave food. I don't know if it's hunger or habit though but chicken breast, an omelette, egg salad.. It just sounds delicious!
  19. Did you have any cc's filled into your band during surgery? I'm just curious. My doctor filled mine 3cc's during my surgery on Wednesday.
  20. I was banded on Wednesday and I have been an emotional wreck! I heard this is normal and the pain medication can contribute to these emotions but has anyone else experienced this? I am crying endlessly!
