Yea i'm self pay and i'm going to mexico to a surgeon my director of nursing just went to A month ago, no one has ever died from this surgeon. I think people are predjudiced because it's mexico. If we said england or something people would think it was cool. I'm not prejudiced but i am going to save 15,000 or more by going there...

To the other poster, there have been MANY many successful lab-band surgeries in mexico. you only hear about the negative, and I've not heard of one HORROR story yet been researching mexico surgeries for a year. I'm a nurse and would not go somewhere for anything if I thought my life was in danger. Most complications have been incision site infections and this happens in the states and is usually due to the patient touching the incisions sites with dirty hands. do your own research & from people who have actually had surgery in mexico....

Still on mushies for another week but amazed at how much weight ive lost. I want to lose about 90 all together so im pretty happy. It hasnt been easy though. Emotionally harder than I expected. Some days im not sure i did the right thing. I really miss over eating. Crazy isnt it!

I was at a wedding on Saturday. It was a 5 course meal and I tried a taste of everything including dessert. While the others were chowing down I was moving the food around my plate and taking a small bite here and there. No one even noticed.
I found that the urge to eat everything on my plate had disappeared.
Love my band for helping me to be satisfied with small portions.
Got on the scale this morning to find I had lost a pound!

I lost almost 13 on a 10-day liquid.....and yes it is more about the liver shrinkage. My surgeon told my husband my liver looked really good and he could tell I did well on my liquids. I was proud.....silly thing to be proud of, I know. But it is about the small victories. I'm only 5 days post op and I've lost 4.4 since surgery.

I lost 9 lbs, my surgeon told me the pre op diet was not about weight loss, but more about liver shrinkage, you should focus on that

Hi my name is Lori and I am scheduled for November 15th. I started my liquid diet on Thursday. It consist of 3 Protein Shakes per day plus SF Jello and pops. Was having a difficult time the past couple of days but woke up this morning with a new attitude and regained confidence. I haven't weighed my self since Thursday morning but I can tell I've lost weight. My stomach is a little flatter and my pants a lil looser at the waist. I ve only been on this website for a couple of day's but already it has helped me. Thank you all for sharing ur good and not so good experiences. It really does help! Hav a blessed day everyone. Ok surgery over, feeling sore and uncomfortable more than pain. The upper shoulders and chest from gas is the worse, my 5 incisions are various sizes, 1 about 1 1/2 in being the largest. My problem I have a nauseous feeling and I don't want to eat, only got down 2 of my 5 shakes yesterday and only about 16 oz. of Water. My shake is going down a bit better this morning hope this goes away soon and the soreness goes quicker, down 2 lbs this morning. I think I want something in my mouth to chew well maybe with some substances but have to wait 2 weeks for that don't I . I did have about 1/2 sf popsicle last night it helped, (don't think I was suppose to have it ? ) Would like to hear from others who have just had their lapband done are we on the same boat LOL and best wishes to all November banders

Just got thru surgery last night, Nov 2....so I did end up staying the night in hospital. So far since home 11am on to now 4pm, I have downed about 35 oz including 30 grams of Protein. No gas pains, 6 cuts, largest 1.5 inches it looks like. More sore if I move in getting up or down, walking fine. Sugar count was high after surgery but fine now. Good to be on the other side......
