  2. Well I have to say I am 20 days out now and those pains are gone. Once in a while if I lay wrong or something I might get a little pain but for the most part it's all good:) how many days out are you guys now? Are your pains gone?
  3. Lets just keep in mind that low bmi does not mean we are healthy, my bmi was 32 and at that I was still considered obese. So IMO depending on your health history you might be saving yourself a lot of problems later on.
  4. Hopefully I can loose the weight but how do I gain the confidence? You look great in all the pictures! What was your surgery weight if you don't min me asking? And how long did it take you to Loose? Any advise for the newbies?
  5. Self pay like many of us low bmiers unfortunately:( pretty good investment though, I'm pretty sure I spent more on take out and diet crap te last few years;)
  6. I think to myself.. What did I eat three xmas's ago fr dinner? What dessert did I try? I can't remember. But I remember being depressed about my weight every year. So although its tough I know this time next year I won't be depressed about my weight, nor care about what I didn't eat;)

Good point.. Then I'm sure once you've been sleeved you will also seek advise from Your doctor as opposed to asking anyone on here who may have been there done that and would only offer non medical real life experience... Good luck with your journey;)
  10. Good luck with your journey! I wish you a safe and speedy surgery/recovery;)
  11. The hospital provided them for me. Wasn't asked to wear them Before though...
  12. Dec 3 here. Lost 15 PDs the first week and none this week lol Wth? Anyway I'm ok with that. Still on liquids though or another week:/
  13. I hate to scare people because ( by the looks of these forums) hers is an exception. But she had the sleeve done, they found no leaks. Two days later she was so sick and sore we took her to emerg. Turns out she got blood clots in her lungs an her blood pressure wouldn't stay where it should. So they flu her to the city. She got phnemonia and a staph infection and was in the hospital for two months. She then had a drain bag in for infection for six months ( bs communication btwn the two hospitals that were caring for her). She has to have a stent put in in two weeks and hopefully she will be better ( this should have been done months ago IMO). So it a crazy story that prob wouldn't happen to most. But for me It scared me. I have made good friends on here that are doing great with the sleeve. But so far I am doing great with the plication. On my secret dec sleev fb page there are tons of people on it ( all with sleeve) and only one has had a leak so far and she is getting it treated right away. Crazy hey... Everything happens for a reason I guess. My mom Had it done here at home and I had mine in TJ Mexico so things can happen anywhere i guess:/ glad it's all over!
  14. Do what you decide is best for you. We all have reasons for the choice we make. Some Of my reasons for choosing plication are: less invasive surgery : could use that portion of my stomach if needed (esophageal cancer): not all vs patience loose their hungry sensation: and my mom was part of the 1% with vs and almost died. So after going through 8 mos of hell with her I could not bring myself to do it, but also realizing I needed to do something. I know her case is the exception, but it was scary and I have three little kids. That being said I see many success stories with the vs as well. The decision is yours... I wish you the best in whatever you choose:)
