  1. I have been thinking about this.i think she needs to try really hard on another plan before choosing band. Good exercise and healthy eating. We all had to go through this and she is so young to do something drastic without really working to change her life first. Just my opinion the band should not be a first choice. You are talking many many years with the band. Not to be taken lightly.
  2. You are doing great. A lot of people gain during the healing process. just be patient let your body heal and maybe do not weigh yourself too much right now. Carolina is right weve got your back.
  3. My hardest time is also night time so I have a planned snack of a nut/seed/fruit mix and decaf coffee. I measure out 2 oz of the snack and I am finding a lot of times I dont eat it all. Its a nice snack and I eat piece by piece nice and slow.
  4. Congrats on your success. You are setting a good example for your daughter taking care of yourself.
  5. so sorry about your journey but thank you so much for sharing with us. I hope you are finaly feeling better.
  6. Quitting diet sodas was almost as hard as quitting smoking but so worth it. Google info on losing weight and diet sodas. They are so bad for weight loss not just for the band.
  7. Yes hard to eat or keep anything down and reflux while sleeping.
  8. You are probably retaining fluid. I would suggest not weighing yourself every day because your body will fluctuate. But thats just me. I weigh in every week. I would suggest you do not drink any carbonated drinks ever again. They are not good for your band or your weight loss. Lots of chemicals too.
  9. That is awesome way to go!
  10. Great post!! I feel so much better when I watch sodium. I try not to eat too many processed foods.
  11. My advice is to casually walk for now. Your doctor is the only one who can give you the ok to do anything else. Best of luck!
  12. You will only know when you get close to your goal. Age does seem to be a factor but there is no clear answer for you. You either will or will not.
  13. I think most doctors have nutritionist they use. It is important that they undersatnd your doctors guidelines.
  14. Some times I feel like you are explaining. I am ususally stuck at that point. I find a lot of times if I walk around a bit it helps. Make sure you are not eating too fast and you are chewing well.
  15. I only get hearburn or reflux when I am too tight but that is just me. Have you been eating anything different lately?
  16. Honestly I get dizzy every time I am on liquids. If you are really worried you should call your doctor. Hope you feel better.
  17. When were you banded? You have to give yourself time to heal before you worry too much about weight loss.
  18. I think you can go to pateints and then my patient profile. Also try going under photos. These options are top middle of page.
  19. I dont think granola, peppers or mushrooms are really considered mushy. I might be wrong.
  20. tuna or other flaky fish. canned chicken, eggs, egg salad, scrambled whisked with skim milk, refried beans, baked beans, cottage cheese or ff ricotta with some marinara sauce little cheese also can add beans, mix egg salad or tuna with little avocado.
  21. i dont really understand your post or all the phases. I dont eat the stuff he said because they are pretty much sliders and wont satisfy you. the juce because its loaded with sugar. As far as fiils I was always told one day liquid one day mushy and then solids. once on solids i dont drink any my protein normally. sometimes during my tom i have to do shakes because i am so tight. hope this helps you some.
  22. Dont be scared my advice is dont watch the needle. It looks really big but you will barely feel it. Be prepared to do liquids for a day after.
  23. You will not really know how things will be until you get to solids and are eating high protein soild foods. Hang in there.
  24. My doctor said you either will or will not have sagging skin. He never said but if you try the wraps. Mis made a really good post while ago about the wraps. Something like they have diruretics in them and they draw out a lot of water. Hopefully she will reply to this post.
