well you are healing......body full of fluids.....i would stop weighing for a few weeks so your body can heal....congrats on your surgery

You should start reading some other post. People are getting tired of not getting support and being ridiculed for not using the band properly. I think people are finally having enough of not looking for support on a forum that was supposed to be build on support

Amen Shackwacky ! You took the words right out of my mouth. I don't even post any more about being hungry or when feel like a made a mistake because I know I will get ridiculed. I stick to certain people and a certain forum that I know that will have my back and are there for me.

Yeah I guess you're right.
It would also would help if people who are frustrated from reading the same questions over and over not comment, because it comes off mean after reading their comments they made on the other threads.

I can only speak for myself, but I assure you bandster hell is still very fresh in my memory. That's exactly why I reply to threads like this, because I consistently lost weight from the first day after my surgery so I share what I know to work despite being in bandster hell.
What works is counting calories and restricting portions, despite being in bandster hell. It's not easy and it's not fun, but it's the only choice you have if you want to lose weight.
My one year band anniversary is coming up the first week of January. I still track every bite of food I put in my mouth, count every calorie, and make sure I never eat more than a cup of food per meal. Even beyond bandster hell, it works.

I understand what you're saying and I know that this is tool and not a magic pill , but the band is worthless and just a piece of crap without anything in it!
alot of you old timers that have had the band for a while have seen to forgotten how it is with an empty ban, and instead of giving all the new Bandys a hard time, try to give a little more support! for after all that's what they're looking for. That's all I'm saying if you had the band for a while you know what I'm talking about because you have been there that's why it's called band hell and yeah I'm sure it is a lot easier when you got something in your ban to help with your restriction that seems to be the key to success that everybody credits.

WHHOOP WHHOOP ! I got the call today 9am is my go time on Friday. I want to call in sick so bad tomorrow to work and stay home clean my house and make it perfect for my recovery.

Don't beat yourself up too bad, Nancy. I was reading a blog called "The Dandy Bandy" and she talks about what she eats and when she makes mistakes. It really helped me to remember that we didn't learn to over-eat and make unhealthy choices overnight, this is going to be a learning experience as well. The Band will be there to help with that *gentle* or *not-so-gentle* reminder when we over-do it or eat something that doesn't agree with the Band. And remember, the Band will not prevent us from eating anything that we want to. So, if anyone is thinking, "oh, I have to eat that because I'll never be able to again" you can stop thinking that way right now. What the Band WILL do is allow us to eat a smaller portion than we did before. It will allow a few bites of that yummy pasta instead of the full plate. And we will be SATISFIED with those few bites for a couple of reasons. Our Band will help us feel satiated AND we will chew our food so slowly and really get to savor the taste.
Will we still make mistakes? Abso-freaking-lutely!
Will we learn from them immediately instead of 20lbs later? Without a doubt!!

Leigh - I don't want to say its OK but my doctor allows me one meal at night and that's usually what I eat.

I start my pre op next Saturday. I can't believe it is here already
