  1. The pool area looks beautiful Betty, Where were you at exactly?
  2. Good News Babs, that is great. I hope you get the same good news tomorrow about the thighs!
  3. Very well said, I agree with you 100% However sometimes for myself it is not always as easy as it seems but having my band does help. It is one day at a time for me, it's all I can do, I do my best to not look into the future or dwell on the past.
  4. Hmmm, I have never heard of this happening to anyone I know who has been banded. What has your Doctor done to correct this porblem? Did he say they would inflate back on their own? I had a "feeling" of shortness of breath or tightness in my chest area due to the swelling in my diaphram and sternum area from the surgery and placement of the band, that feeling went away each day, but total took about 3 weeks post op to feel normal. Could this be what you mean?
  5. Yep I get water retention big time when I fly or travel to a different climate or time zone, you probably got that going on for sure.
  6. First of all you are not hopeless, you are successful. 35 lbs is fantastic especially since your starting weight was under 200 lbs. That being said, since you only had 75 lbs to lose and started at a much lower weight, those last 40 lbs make take a little longer and a little more effort. I wish I had 175 starting wieght What does your daily intake of food look like, can you break it down for us so we can see exactly it is you eat in a day? Are you eating your porteins first? Do you drink with meals often? Do you drink any liquid calories? How is you carb & sugar intake? For me Carbs and Sugar kill any effort I put forth, I am doomed if I have any carbs or sugar in the morning for that day. I agree with you when working out you need to be in a possitve supportive environment, so of you feel uncomfortable working out with him it may not be in your best interest to do that. I also agree with the diet thing falling on your shoulders, that is why us bandsters got the band, so we no longer have to weigh our foods, measue our portions, count points or buy certain foods. Have you tried talking to him about how you are feeling? Let us know what you are eating and how much, Iam sure with all of us here we can offer you some good advice once we see how & what you are eating. None of us are perfect. We all have our bad days and feel discouraged, when I have a day like that, I just tell myself tomorrow is a new day and a new start, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt but I keep trekking along one day at a time. You can do this!
  7. Penni, you are in a strange place, living out of a suitcase and living in a hotel not to mention all the added stress of your mother and the death of your son in laws girlfriends. Once you get home and get back to your normal routine things will get better. Besides Penni, you should never go by what another scale says, always only go by the one you have always been using As you tell us " stay strong"
  8. Great Post!!! Just what I needed to hear as I approach a new week and a new day! Thanks for sharing it with us
  9. No weight loss for me this week stayed the same, But I am OK with it since I started my montlhy cycle last night.
  10. No weight loss for me this week,no gai neither .. Started my monthly cycle last night. Penni, you are under alot of stress, stress can do strange things, you are also living out of a suitcase and a hotel, do'nt fret, once you are home and back to normal and your normal routine things will be good. Hang in there Penni. Congratulations to all of you loser's this week, awesome job!
  11. I can eat 4 scrambled eggs at one sitting and I have had 3 fills )and have fairly good restriction) so you are not the only one Once you get your fills you will notice a difference. My doctor told me that I should be eating 1/3 or less then what I used to eat pre band and I am and I am losing. Do what works best for you. I do agree with the liquid calories, I drink zero liquid calories except the little bit of powdered cream I put in my coffee other then that it is Water. Liquid calories do make a difference in hindering weight loss. Hang in there, it wont be like this once you have good restriction
  12. Hi Flower, I'm 14 pounds away from my original goal weight I set the day of my surgery. I has been a year since I was banded. I can not even begin to tell you all of the triumphs I have had in the past year but I will say that the band is the best thing I have ever done for myself, I honestly feel for thefirst time in my life I will not gain this weight back. I am a much happier person, inside and out. The happiness radiates from me. Like Babs said, my kids are also enjoying their new mom and all the energy I have and all of the fun thingswe now do that I never did pre band. Hubby is benefiting too My band has changed my life. I LOVE MY BAND!!!
  13. I had the same Dr. As Jenna and was told the same thing, it has been 1 year for me with no sodas or carbonation and I do not kiss it one single bit. 86 lbs lost is far better then how any carbonation could ever taste!
  14. Penni, Iam sorry to hear of this tragedy. Condolences to both your family, Amber's family and her fiance Jacob
  15. I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles, Hang in there, it does get better Soon you will be feeling better, this is just a little set back, I'm glad you are getting the problem fixed Monday.
  16. Hi Kathy! Congratulations on your new band! I'm so glad to hear your experience in Mexico with Dr. Kuri was more lovely then you hoped for. That is great news! I wish you lots of success with your new band
  17. Kathy, I hope your sugery went smoothly for you Congrats, Looking forward to hearing about your experience with Dr. Kuri
  18. I had my surgery on a Tuesday and took a 2 weeks off, but not because I did not feel good, I could of gone back to work the Friday after surgery. I chose to take the extra time off because I was on clear liquids for 2 weeks post op and I have a restaraunt and I was not sure how I was going to handle being around food mentally only being on just clear liquids. I chose to go back to work once I was on full liquids . Pain wise I felt great very soon after my surgery, I was up and shopping in TJ the day after my surgery.
  19. Great News Estella!
  20. Hi Tony, Congratulations on your new band! 20 lbs is fantastic. To answer your question I lost 20 lbs before my first fill and did not gain it back, the thing you will notice though is you may gain a pound or two once you get to full blown solids until your body adjusts to the solid foods again, but as along as you follow the basic bandster rules, you should be fine . I would not worry, plus any weight you lose during the 6 week post op pre fill stage is considered a bonus. My doctor told me not to worry if I did not lose wieght before I got a fill, he was more concerned with me healing for those 6 weeks to make sure my band set in place and my incisions healed up properly ,the band works best when it is filled. Try not to worry, the band is a life time & this 6 weeks is just a short time in a long journey. Hang in there and Good Luck to you
  21. Penni, On a more serious note the the previous replys. I agree with you 100%, it is really no ones bussiness where you get your money, how you get your money or how much money you have. For me that is private information. Whoever is telling you people are asking those questions about you, I hope they gave you names , otherwise it is pretty much here say and you can not confront them. Obviously by your post , this is important to you so I hope you find out who it is and get this mess cleared up once and for all, this board has had enough drama and you seem you have a full plate right nowwith yourt mother. Thisi s the last thing you need to be worrying about.
  22. Jorget, you are having the band and only needing to lose 10 lbs? Please tell me this is a typo???
  23. Great News! I could only imagine the relief you are feeling and the peace of mind. I'm very happy for you
  24. So Sorry to hear this Penni. I wish your mom a full and speedy recovery. Atleast you were close by and can be there for her during this difficult time. Sending you lots of posssitive and healing thoughts for your mom
  25. Great Post Katie, I speak only for myself when I say I felt some of the exact feelings pre surgery. It is one day at a time, If you blow it one day, you start back the next day, the good thing about the band is it lets me know when I have eaten too fast, or taken too big of a bite or did not chew enough, I am always more aware of the foods you put in my mouth wiith your band, In the beginning I was the model bandster, 1 year ago today I had my surgery and I'm not the model bandster I have had my bad days, I am far from perfect. Seems since I have lost 85 lbs I have gotten off track, but everytime I have a bad day, I know there is always tomorrow. You will do great! Have faith in yourself, between you and your band working together, you will have success
