  1. Nykee, Iam sorry to hear of all of this.. Dr. Ortiz had me go down and eat something as well one time before he sent me back across the border, it was my 2nd fiill, he told me the first fill may take some time to feel but the other fills there after should be felt right away. I ate and was fine and went on my merry way home. Call Dr. Ortiz or Martinez, let them know what is goin on Please keep us updated, and I hope you get relief soon
  2. Zoe have you thought about going to a tanning salon and having the spray on tan done? I have seen the results of it andit looks great( mystic tan) I think is what it is called..I go to the tanning salons but I use the tanning beds , have for years. I stay tan all year round.
  3. How exciting for you, surgery is just 2 days away. Pack light, you will not need much Have all of your Clear liquids ready for you when you get home so you do not have to go out to the store along with GasX and some adult strength liquid tylenol. Good Luck to you on Thursday
  4. Having more protein will help you from being so tired, by the looks of it, it does not look like you have the 60 reccomended grams of protein a day for us bandsters..try having another protein drink or two, lack of caloric intake can also make you tired so if you up the protein and calories it might make a difference. It's worth a try
  5. Most Dr.'s want you to wait until atleast 6 weeks post-op. Here is a great site on getting fills once you have waited the 6 weeks or whatever your Dr.'s protocol is. SOme wait longer then 6 weeks if they are lsoing still and have some restirction still from the initial surgery. I had my first fill 9 weeks post op http://lapbandtransformation.com/Adjustments.htm
  6. 7 days post op, there is nothing much to satisfy you. Protein drinks will help curb the hunger if it is true hunger, but if it is head hunger, I'm afraid it wont help much. When do you get to go to soft/mushy fooods? When do you start solids? During the liquid phase for me I drank alot of water to help me keep full or feel as if I was full. Hang in there, this is the toughest part but all worth it end the end
  7. The only thing I can say is that there are some foods that the band just does not restrict. Are you eating hard portein to stick in the pouch, when I was filled 2.5 cc's I could eat pizza no problems, it was one of those foods for me the band did not restrict, but if I was to eat a chicken breast at 2.5cc's Whoa I had restriction...What is is that you eat in a day? this is where the problem can be, Maybe it is the foods you are eating, just a thought Also, we all know the last few lbs to lose are always the hardest...you have done a fantastic job so far. I think alot of us also know after a year out we seem to become very complacent not following therules like we all did in the beginning. Maybe try going back to basics and the 10 bandster rules to help you get the last 18lbs off?
  8. Babs, Great to hear the good news! Congratulations
  9. Penni, You look beautiful ! An amazing difference
  10. Sorry to hearof your PB, they are NO fun but you are now official Glad to see you are doing therightthing and doing liquids for 24 hours. Take it from one who knows the importance of doing that. I learend the hard way of not doing liquids for 24 hoursand had a horrible case of esophagitis for 2 weeks and it was hell!
  11. I stayed the same too this week..no gain though, but it may be time for me to get a fill since I have been running on empty the last month and a half I have only lost 4 lbs and those were most likely from my obstruction surgery. I had to come back and edit this post, after writing it and posting it, I just went to the ladies room and there it was, I started my monthly cycle, early this month which is odd cuz I am like clockwork and had no signs of PMS which is way out of the norm, so this could explain no wieght loss but fortunate to not of gained either This makes me feel better about no loss
  12. My fills have not hurt. Everyone is different though. As far as eating prior to your fill, every Dr. has a different set of rules. Mines requires no food 4 hours before a fill but liquids are OK. My first fill took about a week to kick in, the other two were instant! Again everyone is different. Good Luck, let us know how it went
  13. Megan You look beautiful. You have done a great job! keep it up Congratulations!
  14. Great NSV Mary Way to go! Im having a mammogram next month.
  15. There is a weekly scale challenge thread here on LBT for all of us who are obsessed with the scale, I challenged everyone who was interested to only get on thescale once a week. It has been very successful for me..you should join us Do a seach for Weekly Scale Challenge and come on in

Good one Vines..LOL I will agree walking works the best, however Gas X did help me.
  17. Iam so glad you were able to speak directly to Dr. Ortiz and he was able to put your mind at ease. It is great to hear that you are doing much better today and you are right, our minds and imaginations can make us think the worst. I read on your other post that you were also to get aftercare with Dr. Pleatman...good for you that has got to make you feel better too! I agree with you on both comments.
  18. COngratulations Christina So glad to hear all went well for you
  19. Wal Mart has the adult strength liquid tylenol, it is on the top shelf not with the rest of the tylenol, same at Savon-Osco
  20. My first fill took a week to kick in. Give it a few more days. What are you eating? Break it down for us, Breakfast? lunch? dinner? Snacks? Are you drinking liquid calories? Are you eating hard Proteins first? www.fitday.com is a great site to track your caloric intake. Writing down what you eat everyday helps in thebeginning, it lets you see where you could be going wrong. Please post what you eat in a day and we will be able to advise you a little better..Hang in there
  21. My first fill took about a week to kick in, give it some time, are you eating hard proteins first? That does make a difference What are you eating in a day, break it down for us, Breakfast, lunch, dinner and any snacks It will help to advise you better, do you drink with meal? Do you drink liquid calories? These things make a difference. Writing down what you eat also helps , it keeps you accountable and you can see where you went wrong for the day www.fitday.com is a great food tracker for caloric intake
  22. Hope it all went well for you, you are finally an offical bandster after the long wait and determination to get your band! I'm happy for you
  23. That is food getting stuck from too big of a bite or from not chewing it enough, when this happens, number one, do not drink with it to wash it down and secondly do NOT drink carbonation like Pepsi to wash it down, it will cause the horrible pain you described. Drinking to wash it odwn will make it feel worse, it is like it is all backing up This is the feeling you get when you have a PB, it is horrible and terrifying the first time you experience it, I remember very well, You get a look like a deer caught in headlights. Remember to chew and small bites and slower, picking at food is a hard habit to break after so many years of doing it, but those times you pick can be the worst for us bandsters , we seem to forget about our bands and the rules of chewing and small bites.
  24. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. I have heard great things about your Dr. I wish you the best and so glad you found this site, it is the best one on the net! Lots of love & support here
