  1. Years ago when my 17yr old was about 5, he came home from school one day and told me a girl was calling him names, I asked him what names she was calling him, he said she called me the B word, I said Bitch, he said yes, he said she also called me the Sh word, I said shit and he said yes, then he told me she called him the Fra word, I said Fra word? What is the Fra word, he said Fragina, I told him, honey I think she meant vagina. To this day we still laugh about it

Iam a happy Ortiz patient I have been going to him for 14 months, for my original surgery and all of my aftercare, fills, check-ups etc.. I was just there on Monday for a fill . He has givin me impecable care, he also preformed a life saving surgery on me ( not band related) 2 months ago that the Dr.'s here would not preform. I think very highly of him and the entire OCC staff. I trust him completely.

Thanks for putting my pics side by side The shirt is yours if you want it..I had not worn it in a long long time, a little too big for me now. Have only worn it 3 times Otherwise it is going in a pile of things to donate.
  9. I've learend to let what the bypass patient say go right through me, Time will tell, when the bypass patients are having health problems bypass related and are gaining their weight back because their pouches are stretched ..I get all the satisfaction I need For every person I have told about my band, they have all known someone who had the bypass and had some kind of problems whether it be malabsorption issues, weight gain, other major organ problems, they see me and I do not look like i had weight loss surgery, my skin tone is beautiful, I do not look gaunt, nor do I look flabby like bypass patients do. Iam my best advertisement for the band

Here is a recent picture of me and a friend of mine who was banded 4 weeks ago with Dr. Ortiz, he had us over for dinner last Friday night to eat his first solid meal since banding, the other is of me.
  11. Iam in !!! Maybe I can reach the century mark by then with these last 7 lbs
  12. If it were me, I would wait on the fill, vacation is not a time to be miserable and worried about a PB or not being able to eat, especially if you are ina foregin country with no Lap Band Dr. near by. Go and enjoy yourself, your fill will be here waitingfor you when you get back. Iti s hard to say if .5 cc's will be too tough to handle, everyone is different , I knwo for me when I travle my restriction level changes, from water retention, climate change, time change, jet lag etc...it is not worth the stress over it. Wait til you get home
  13. Happy Birthday Kelli, Hope your day is going good for you Celebrate !
  14. Estela, everything happens for a reason is how I see it..it will happen when the time is right. I have to aks you a question though..the few Dr.s' I have spoken with about a TT have told me it is better to wait until you have reached goal weight and have been there for a few months.
  15. Absolutely! If I ate a pound of See's Candy over a pound of Veggies, you better believe I would gain wieght.
  16. Vines, glad you are feeling better
  17. Thanks everyone for your support. I hate liquids 2 more days of it UGGHHH~~

Thnaks Penni, I did not think we were allowed to solicit or advertise on this site. I was hoping one of the moderators would adress this.
  19. Shaz - Yes swelling happens after a PB, you esophagus becomes inflamed this is why most Dr.'s reccomend liquids for 24 hrs after a PB episode, if you do not you can risk esophagitis and you do not wantthat. I had it, it was the worst, very painful. Kris- do liquids for a few days, try hot liquids to open you up a bit if you feel like something is stuck, cold liquids will tighten you, warmer liquids will loosen you. If you do not have any relief after 2 days on liquids and PB again after eating solids, call your Dr. you may be a tad too tight and may need some fluid removed. as little as .2 cc's can make a huge differenc in being able to eat w/out Pbing but still give enough restriction to lose weight. The more frequent PB's you have the higher the risk of slippage is what my Dr. told me. Pbing more then once a week is not good for your band. If liquids are not followed for 24hrs after a PB it can result in a vicious cycle of eating and Pbing. Here is the thread I started back in November on Esophagitis when I had a bad episode and did not do liquids like I should have, I have learned my lesson the hard way http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=3920&highlight=esophagitis
  20. If you are losing weight 1-3 lbs a week and have some restriction there is no need ot rush to get a fill, just because the Dr. will do one at 6 weeks post op does not mean you need one, I did not have my 1st dill until I was almost 10 weeks post op here is a good site on fill to read to give youa guide http://lapbandtransformation.com/Adjustments.htm
  21. Put your meat in a blender with a little chicken broth or beef broth, it will get pureed.

Is this the same Eric who's wife ran belighter( Ann Marie)?
  23. Are you eating baby food? Are you on the mushy phase?
  24. GO back to basics.... Protein first 60 grams a day, then veggies, then fruits, then carbs if you have room. drink atleast 64 oz of Water. What is a typical days menu look like for you, break it down Breakfast, lunch , dinner and Iam sure we can help you out more. It has only been a month, have you even had a fill yet? If not this could also be why your weight loss has slowed down, with an empty band it is normal to eat more and not lose as much.
