  1. We have the same Dr. and I have taken heed in the warning also, have not had any nor do I miss them, it's not worth any risk of losing my band or damaging my pouch
  2. Dianechef, how much weight have you lost since surgery? What is it that you are eating exactly, are you eating the good foods or the junk foods? Regardlessof calories it does make a idfference for me anyways, I can eat 1200 calories of junk and not lose but if Ieat 1200 calories of good foods I will lose, its about eating good food all the time though or I just revert back to the same 2-3 lbs going back and forth.
  3. If your not PBin eating the healthy stuff then you are OK, its the junk food that will kill any weight loss efforts since it goes down to easily. You can always ask your doctor to remove a small ammount like .2 cc's, that will make a difference so you may not have pain but still have restriction. This is a mind thing, we have to do some of the work. Slow down your eating, wait a few minutes after the first bite, my first two bites take a bit to get to the band and after that I seem to be OK but if I take continuous bites without stopping I get pain.use a small ( crab fork) it helps to take smaller bites, works great for me.
  4. My girlfriend has been banded for 17 months now and had a flipped port back in November, and just yesterday she had her port removed due to an absess under the port, she was in severe pain for several days and went to the Er, and thye could not ifnd the rpoblem so she flew back to TJ and had Dr. Ortiz do an endo and they found the problem, it does happen , it is rare, Main thiong is if you know something is not right to act on it immediately and call your Dr...Don't hesitaste
  5. Growling one day op could also mean gas..I know it did for me. You are only 1 day post op, the swelling is probably pretty good which is why a few sips and your feeling full. It was that way for me too
  6. WOO HOO Great News! Nov 3rd is right around the corner
  7. If you go to Mexicanbandsters in yahoo groups and do a search you will find good and bad info on Dr. verboonen. Here is another one to read.. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/mexicanbandsters/message/13935 The mai nthing is that you are 100% satisfied with your choice of your Dr...if you are 100% satisfied after all your research then go for it! Best of luck to you..
  8. I did not go with the mid band since it was not approved in the US when I had surgery and even though I go back to Dr. Ortiz for my aftercare, I wanted the Inamed band in the event of an emergency since many U.S. docs will not give aftercare with a midband. Ask questions, go to the Yahoo boards Mexicanbandsters as well Here are a few links on the subject.. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=2614&highlight=midband http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=226&highlight=midband http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=283&highlight=midband
  9. My brother has lost over 100 lbs without a band and I can tell you he has eaten a baked potato every single day since June! Not a Bad Food, it is what you smother it with that makes it bad, my brother uses fat free sour cream and the "Ican't Beleive it's not butter" spray, it has zero calories and tastes like butter
  10. LOL>>>LOL>>> Great Story! I needed that
  11. Ok I ordered from Kelli, Snickerdoodle Mix, Rice pudding Mix and Tapioca Pudding Mix..all of my favorites
  12. Lisa, I just have to thank you again for the slumber party you gave us, it has done wonders for me & hubby and I didnt even get very many "new" toys but what I got sure has made a difference in our sex life WOW! ...it is so nice to have someone you know where you can go to to purchase these items, and not feel insecure, shy or embarrassed. It is amazing to me how many women think "toys" are just for themselves, they do not realize the pleasure recieved when both are involved in the use of these "toys" I'm taking the catalog to work this weekend when all of my waitresse's will be there. I also have been giving out your web site left and right.

  16. This is one of the reasons that drinking with meals is a NO NO, and a vanilla shake OMG..you poor thing, I get that freaded feeling if I have a stuck bite and drink Water..cant even imagine the thick vanilla shake trying to make it's way through.
  17. Productive burping OR I have heard it be called Painful Burping, it is whne that bite that is too big or not chewed wel lenough wont go down and sits there in your chest making you slime and your mouth water until the piece comes back up in a PB...
  18. I just bought a Soy protein powder made by EAS at Wal-Mart it is 14 servings for just 6.98, I got the vanilla flavor and it is actually very good, I blend it with milk, ice and a bannana, I figured I was safe buying it at that price and only 14 servings in the event I did not like it, not much was invested in it I have never really been into the protein drink thing since I do not like to use my calories in liquid form, and never really found a protein powder I liked the taste of however there are days when I am very tight so I am using this as an alternative on those days which has been the last 2 days in the morning, the added pottassium with the bananna has allready made a diference in my leg cramps at night.

I went to Mexico and paid 8995.00 and had an awesome experience. I financed 2000 of the 8995.00 and just paid it off last month, some MX docs have financing plans available through US companies.

  24. I smoked up until the minute I was wheeled in to surgery, my nutritionalist told me not to try and quit , that trying to lose weight and quit smoking at the same time woul dbe difficult, told me to do one at a time, so I did the weight loss , now I'm focusing on quitting once I reach my goal weight which I'm hoping wil lbesoon, however since home from the Vegas Bash where I smoked way too may ciggarettes, I have made a commitment to my self to cut back, I'm down to 5 cigarettes a day. I had the same fears of not being able to do the liquid diet post op also but I wil ltel lyou this, it was much easier then I had imagined, all of the swelling and gas I hadfrom surgery, I was not hungry for 2 weeks, you may be surprised, dont worry too much, you wil lget through it, we all have Good Luck
