  3. Woodys this is therant and rave forum, you know it going in. You chose to click on it knowing full well it was rant and rave and yet you continued to keep reading on and even reply to this thread. If you did not like any of this as you proclaim then why read it and certainly why post to it???

  6. If it aint broken don't fix it ! If you are losing then you are doing something right, save your fills fo rwhen you stop losing on a consistent basis. You are working with the band and not relying on the band..this is how it is suppose to be done Good for you

  10. Iam 40 yrs old, mother of 5 ( 4 boys 1 girl) I lost my oldest son to cancer 8 yrs ago and my youngest was diagnosed with cancer at the same time my oldest was battling his cancer, this is where my wieght gain came from, I was put on anti depressants because on top of all of that , my mother died 10 days before my oldest son died. I gained 70 lbs on paxil in 1.5 yrs, I was banded on April 6th 2004 by Dr. Ortiz I had a pleasant journey I had one major comlication I had complete bowel obstruction in April of 2005 and had surgery by Dr. Ortiz to fix it. other then that my band did it's job. I lost 105 lbs in 18 months then my band eroded in November of 2005 I had it removed on Nov 28th 2005. SInce then I have gained back 4 lbs UGGH!!! I refuse to gain this weight back. I need a kick in the ass. Someone like all of you to keep me accountable and to report into every week. So my starting weight as of tonight is 168
  11. Look at it this way ..she is 22 lbs lighter then she was in March. It could be worse she could be 22 lbs heavier then in March. 22 lbs since March is an average of 4 lbs a month, that is 1 lb a week..sounds good to me. We all know weight loss with the band is much slower then weight loss with the GB. Praise her. She is doing great! The band is working for your daughter, she is losing! Would she of lost 22 lbs since March without her band? Probably not or she woul of and would not of gotten the band right? You are just a concerned loving mother is all
  12. What would you like to know?
  13. is it too late to join, even though I am flying solo I am struggling right now and really could use this support. I am currently 168 lbs. I have gained 4 lbs since flying solo in November 2005
  14. Miper, I too was an Ortiz patient...remember even though you may not be lsoing on the scale you will be losing inches. Not to mention I bet you feel better then you have in years so you are winning at this by getting your life back, do not let the numbers on the scale dictate your success with your band, think of all of the other good things that have happened to you in the last 5 months since your band. here is great post I started for you to read that may help you feel better. Hang in there http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=9148&highlight=inamed+handbook
  15. From what I have been told and led to believe that some doctors prefer top use the VG band on men and on men or woman who have a BMI greater the 52.
  16. Creamed soups did not count for my clear liquids, but go get some popsicles and jello those are clear liquids, they count and it will feel like you are actually eating food:biggrin1:
  17. This is why I only weigh once a week, same time ,same clothes every Monday. Or it will drive you crazy. It iwll dictate your day.
  18. Not hard here in Cali, it happens alot here . I have several male friends who have custody of their children due to the mother being unfi. Your brother needs to document everything she does that is unfit for those children while in her care though so when he does go on the 28th he has a little ammunition
  19. My hubby and I went shopping the next day after my surgery in downtown TJ. I felt great.
  20. What you think may be hunger could also be the rumbling of the gasses left in your from surgery. More protein drinks will help and like Funnyduddies said, the thicker soups help. One thing that also helped me was jello, it was like eating food for me since I got to use a spoon and not just a straw or a glass..my head thought it was food.
  21. Tylenol puts out a great Adullt strength Liquid tylenol. I only found it at Wal Mart though.
  22. I just asked one of the moderators why are some threads locked and others are not? Seems if one negative mean spirited thread is locked they all should be regardless of the thread starter or regardless of whatever forum they are in! Iam waiting for a reply from the mods on this one.
  23. Jonh, I am so sorry to hear this. Please let her know all ofus here at LBT wish her well and will keep her in our thoughts. Thanks for updating us. Let her know we lover her

We too donate to The Cancer society and the Luekemia Lymphoma Society every motnh since 2 of my 4 boys had cancer. I also donate to "Make A Wish Foundation" my younger son had his wish granted and my older son did not survive to see his wish granted. It is a fabulous organization. People donate because they want to not because they have to is how I see it.
  25. Hi Paula, I think Alexandra is on vacation
