suzeeq67 got a reaction from SueBee01 in 40 lbs. down so no fills yet. . .
My doc did do a fill today. I didn't feel a thing. I haven't been hungry since yesterday at 2:00 in the afternoon. Not sure why. Talked extensively to the nutritionist and she was awesome. I needed that refresher to remind me how the band is to be used. I am a little trepedatious for fear that I will mess up and eat something wrong or too much, etc. But I know that I have the tools and knowledge necessary to be successful.
However, I really feel like I had stalled. Not because of the weight loss, that wasn't the big issue. It was the fact that I had no restriction at all. I could've eaten anything I wanted, although most days I didn't. There were some days where I had a lot of trouble. I am 3 1/2 months out & almost 40 lbs. down which I understand is great. That wasn't the issue. The issue was beginning to be the physical hunger even when I ate the Protein and tried to keep my tummy satiated.
And emotional days were hard because I am an emotional eater. That's what got me 140 lbs. overweight! So my point is, to each his own. I Celebrate each and every persons weight loss as long as they are happy & healthy. And you have to work hard for every lb. lost and they should all be celebrated. Even if you have a fill that isn't going to be the only reason you lose weight. Exercise, vigilance, and determination are the key!!!! Good luck everyone. And congrats on your successful journeys.

. . . my tumbly! 2 days post op. Just giving an update! Haven't experienced the intense pain that a lot of people mentioned. Mostly bloated tummy and incision pain. Haven't had a lot of trouble drinking Water but can't mentally stomach anything else! I tried to eat Jello last night and broth today. Ich! Can't do it. May get better in a few days. Otherwise not so bad. Just resting a lot and trying to heal. Good luck to everyone and best wishes to all the new banders out there.

Yep, for me! Melissa first day, Danny that night, then Amanda, next morning. They were so great! I had a wonderful experience. Too!! Loved walking down and seeing the birdies! Feeling a little better today, sore tummy! But able to drink and have Decaf coffee and SF Italian ice! I can do this. This week will be rough, but so worth it. Good luck to you. We should chat when feeling up to it!

5 months for me. could've gone quicker. But we had a summer vacation in between. My insurance doesn't require 6 month diet, etc. I am about to start my liquid diet very soon, last surgeons consult Tuesday! Woo hoo.
In total, I had to do the initial seminar, an initial surgeons visit for consultation/bloodwork. My physicians visit, my physicians physical, and a separate psych evaluation. Then pre-op testing - mine included bloodwork, X-rays, pulmonary (breathing tests) and an EKG. Then a visit with the surgery team and anesthesiologist. Oh and a nutrition class on lapband foods, Vitamins, etc. Whew!
So far so good, so excited! Good luck to you on your journey. Hope it goes by quickly.

    Hello All,
So I'm on my 3rd day of my liquid diet, and I have found what works for me to get thru the cravings. I have found taking my shakes at regular meal times, and maybe one in between and/or before bed curves my cravings to the point where I dont even notice that I'm on a liquid diet. I also found that eating vegtable, chicken, and beef bouillon curves my cravimgs too and if you put some hot sauce or jalapeno sauce it actually takes pretty good. Depending on what brand you get, it kind of reminds you of ramen noodles. Also, I've pounding the Water, but to mix it up I use crystal light, or drink another alternative. To my fellow diabetics, I usually took my insulin 3 times a day, but since I've started, over only had to take it once in the morning because my sugars have been between 90 & 100. I'm so excited! Never thought fighting for my health could be exciting at times. Hope you all are doing great ass well. See you tomorrow. Oh and thank you for ask your responses! You know who you are!
    V/r,
    DeShawn

Family services is not the only option like the above person commented! Call your local churches, food banks, etc. There are a ton of free or nominal care services in my area. Some offer free food, discounted groceries, canned goods, etc. We all need help sometimes and if it's for better health, it's worth it. Your life is worth it. Explain you situation to the care worker, they can probably keep directing you to other people who can help. Good luck and best wishes. If you need my help looking up some information on this stuff, PM me and I'll send you a list & numbers to call in your area.

Yes, turns out my scheduler has a funny method of keeping track of things or amnesia! Keeps telling me I've already had appts. And testing, that I haven't. She also has the ability to leave invisible, silent message on my phone. Haha. It's all good, I'm just excited now! Wheeeee! My final visit with surgeon is next Tuesday, the 4th. He will schedule my surgery that day & I will start my Protein diet shortly after I see. I feel so lucky, as I just went to my first lapband seminar in April & got the ball rolling! I can't wait!

I have a similar problem. My husband eats nothing but fast food 2-3 times a day. He doesn't have a weight problem, no cholesterol, no diabetes. He's a perfectly healthy (young) man. I hate him sometimes. I have been starving myself on this 100% liquid diet for the past two weeks and full Clear liquids for the past two days. The only thing I can say is be an example.
Why cook two meals? Make something healthy for your family too, it'll eliminate temptation for you and, if they don't eat it they can fend for themselves. I am making no plans to cook anything special for my husband, if he wants something different, he can take his wallet and his car to go get it, or make it himself. Think this is YOUR health, not your husbands, not your kid's, not your sisters, not your mothers. They might not like you now, but when you are healthier and alive longer i'm sure they will see your intentions (or mine in this case)

It is really hard not to have support, but with all the support in the world your family is not choosing this journey you are and truth be told there will be lots of occasions when they will eat stuff you can not. And they will get fat and have health problems in the long run if they over do it. You however have this golden opportunity to get healthy and lose weight. You will learn that life is so much more and better then just eating food. You will find that you have energy you never had , you will look different and feel different and this is about you not someone else.
Some one else asked how do you stop eating sugar easy you don't put it in your mouth and you can not eat what is not it your house. Honestly I ate so much crap that I bought for the "KIDS" or my husband.. If theywant that stuff they need to go out and buy it and eat it in the car. Most men are just to lazy to do that for very long it's a hassle.
After awhile you will be able to eat somethings but trust me they will lose their appeal and a little bit will do you.
