    Surgery tomorrow

Good Luck with your surgery tomorrow afternoon...
  2. Hello Pkchop... This is a great site for advice and support from successful bandsters and even some who weren't as successful. It is a lot of great information available to you on this sight and it will help you along the way. I like some of the photos as well, sometimes seeing somebody's progress is helpful. Good Luck!

    New to site New Journey

Hello Moorecr and Pkchop... Congrats on getting your date for surgery set. Everyone is not always on board with you but it is good to have some that are supportive. I believe once you start losing weight and moving forward with a healthier lifestyle, the others will jump aboard. Lapband is a lot safer than the other weight loss surgeries, so that is a positive to share with your families. Good Luck.

    This is very real!!

Hey Lori Jo... I know first hand what you mean. If it can happen, it usually happens to me. I went to the ER 3 weeks after surgery when I woke up not being able to breathe well, Pulmonary Embolisms. I am now on Coumadin for a year and wish it was over already. Well good luck with the rest of your journey.

    Salon/barber chairs & weight limit

Im 370 and I just left the salon on Tuesday. I learned to ignore the stares if they stare or I just stare back and they would usually just turn their heads. At 270, I think you'd be fine to go back to the salon with no problem with the chair. Go for it!!!!

    Newbie!

Hello Delightful521... If you believe that you selected the right procedure, then you have. We know that you selected the least invasive surgery. Just because they failed doesn't mean you are going to fail. Actually the fact that you are so worried about the possibility of failure will probably help you succeed even more. Ignore the negativity. Keep your faith and you will be successful. Good Luck!
  17. Hello everyone... I had my band done on August 15, 2012 and had lost 50lbs the first two months. Since November I've been fluctuating 10lbs back and forth. I have been on this plateau and have not lost anymore weight with having two fills. The first 50lbs I lost was without any fills. I just went back to the doctor last Thursday and he did not give me another fill, he said that he doesn't believe I am eating enough. He believes now that I have been released to start back going to the gym (hadn't been since before surgery) and him wanting me to eat more especially breakfast, that I will start to lose again. I just had gotten really discouraged due to not losing weight. I started my journey at 445-450 and went down to 405 in a few weeks of eating 5-6 times a day and going to the gym at least 4-5 times a week. From the time I started my pre-op diet until after surgery (October), I had lost around 50lbs. I'm now around 360 and desperate to start losing again. My goal is around 185-200lbs so I have some ways to go but I'm not going to lose my faith. If anyone has any suggestions let me know... Thanks for listening (reading).

  19. Mike your success is awesome. I had my surgery two weeks after you and lost 50lbs but hit a plateau. I hope that I will beat this plateau and start to lose again because I want be successful just like you. Good luck with the rest of your journey.

I didn't take any before surgery pictures because I did not like to take pictures. I have now lost 50lbs since surgery 8/15 but hit a plateau since November. Hopefully I will start losing again soon. I still wear a 32 its just a looser fit.

    Hello Everyone!!!

    Thanks, i will.
  22. Hi everyone, my name is Monica. I will become a new bandster on tomorrow August 15th with Dr. Vincent Lusco of Lou. KY. My Highest weight was 445 and with eating 5x per day and working out at least 4x per week, I dropped down to 395. I've been contemplating weight loss surgery for the last 3 years but hadn't pursued it because of fear. Im 31 y.o. and I now fear that if I keep this weight it will most definitely shorten my life. I have been seeing a nutritionist for the past 4 months and its just plain hard to lose weight. I have been eating like once or twice a day for the past 10 years and I gained a ton of weight. It really didn't help with me doing that after my last child out of 5, c-section, tubal ligation, and the weight just stayed and kept building on. Now Im completely miserable, depressed, and I want my life back. I've been on this pre-op diet for a week and a day now, cheated a couple times but not a big amount of food. I felt bad after cheating but felt better after the scale read 375 yesterday from the 405 on the 3rd. I pray that my story will be a success as many of yours is or will be. Thanks for reading my story and Have a Blessed Day.

    Hello Everyone!!!

Im doing better today than I was 4 days ago. I was really sore, hard to cough or sneeze and when I did it hurt like hell. My incisions were still bleeding through the steri-strips. I only have one incision that leaks through a little but the others seem to be healing pretty good. The doctor saids the strips will come off on their own within a week or two. Today I was able to drive to the store and pick up a couple of things but it seems that my bronchitis has been acting up a little since the surgery but they gave me an inhaler before I left the hospital. It's really easy for me to get out of breath right now. I really appreciate you asking about me.
  24. Good Luck to all of you. I had my surgery yesterday morning and Im super sore but thankfully it all went well.
