  1. Hi! I was banded Nov 16/12 and have lost 98lbs and no fill. I rarely feel hungry ever, some people are just lucky and don't need em
  2. My doctor made me sign a paper saying I wouldnt make any attempts of getting pregnant for one year after surgery.
  3. Hi! I started out at a bmi of 43, so quite a bit higher. But I am only 23, if you feel like chatting shoot me a message
  4. When I go out with my girlfriends I usually drink raspberry vodka with water and a kind wedge
  5. I know exactly how you feel. Since Nov 2012 I went from 305 to 220 and I still have another 40 to lose. My skin is starting to get loose, I'm also 23 I excersise A LOT hence the rapid weight loss and I was only extremely over weight for 2 years. Honestly I think the only thing is genetics and elasticity in your skin that will decide if your skin will snap back or not. My arms and thighs are quite wiggly, I don't care much about my tummy because I've never in my life showed it off, but I do as well feel more uncomfortable with my body then I did 5 months ago. That being said I've worked so hard to become healthy, and if I have too I'm willing to pay for plastic surgery. Just try to keep in mind how much healthier you are now, and have extended your life time. Give your skin some time to catch up with your new body. I just wanted to let you know your not alone, I deffinately understand how you feel.
  6. I've lost 70lbs in 3 months. But I count calories an work out a lot!
  7. I have lost 70 in just 90 days. That being said, I work extremely hard counting calories And working out
  8. Thanks for the replys! I guess ground meats aren't for me lol! Next time ill just try chicken breast
  9. Curious if anyone else has problems with ground meats? I made a taco salad once with ground turkey and once with extra lean ground beef.. Seems to PB it up, the other ingredients I add is shredded cheese, which I eat often no problem. And sour cream.
  10. I waited 2 months post op, the only thing I noticed was I get drunk easier so I can only have 1/2 drinks and my band feels tighter the morning after. Try skinny girl margarita
  11. Hi! Was banded November 16/2012 and down 64lbs last time I weighed myself on the weekend. I haven't had any fills yet.. But am seeing my surgeon in March sometime so we'll see what happens. Best wishes to everyone :-)
  12. 22lbs is fantastic! Try to keep a positive attitude and the great work!
  13. I wouldn't worry! I waited like 6 days and it was fine.. Just as long as he didnt rub up or put pressure on my tummy
  14. Hi Ladies! I'm from Kelowna, BC and was also self pay. Had my surgery Nov 16. I went to Victoria BC for my surgery and paid $15,300 all said and done. I found the first month to be pretty rough, not so much that I was hungry.. But wound up getting stuck on a piece of egg on my 3rd week and vommited EVERY thing for about a week, spent some time in the ER for dehydration. Now I'm very happy to say I've learnt how to live with my Band and I am down 65lbs with about 40 more to go. Wishing everyone the best of luck in there journey :-)
  15. Same thing happened to me, my doctor says the yolk is the sticky part. I went onto liquids for a week because I was stuck so bad. Haven't touched an egg since! Best wishes!
  16. I eat between 500-1000 cals, it varies between the days. It's very rare that I actually feel hunger anymore, how ever I've noticed my weight loss to slow down.. So I make an effort to get to 1000 cals, and mostly focus on protein more then anything. I've never felt dizzy or sick since my recovery, if anything I have much more energy and feel great
  17. Hi! I'm from Kelowna BC.. But go to Calgary quite often. If you ever want to chat feel free to message me. Congratulations on the beginning of your journey! I personally wasn't able to do much for the first 5 days, but everyone is different. Best wishes!
  18. I'm 23 and had my surgery back in mid November. I think your a great age to do it, as long as your ready to completely change your life and behaviors. I had been extremely over weight for the past 3 years and really wish I hadn't wasted all that time hating my body, but so glad I'm correcting it now! Deffinately do your research and attend a seminar or get to know other people, maybe in your age group who have had the bad and get to hear there experiences. I personally am so in love with the band, it's the best decision I've ever made. But I've also been extremely fortunate to have an empty band (no fills) and very rarely feel hungry, have any reflux or heart burn.. Any side effects, this far in my journey. I'm very blessed that way. What ever you decide to do, you must keep in mind that diet and excersise are VERY important, and the band isn't a miracle cure, you have to put much effort into it! Best wishes!
  19. I am in the same boat as B-52. I hardly ever have the desire to eat, and actually have to force myself to eat.. Because our bodies need the fuel. food doesn't really appeal to me anymore, which feels strange because 2 months ago it's what my life revolved around! Also my tastes have changed so much, nothing tastes the way I think it's going to!
  20. I work as a care aide in a long term care facility. My work is extremely fast paced and i do a lot of lifting. -So similar work I took a whole month off, and deffinatly needed it off.
  21. Between 2-4 weeks post op I had some complications involving a stuck episode and seriously thought hard about 'what I just did to myself' but quickly got over it. It can be frustrating some times, but once I've gotten to know my band everything is going smoothly. Now I absolutely love my band! Nothing will ever taste as good as I feel right now, and I'm only 9 weeks post op now
  22. Hi Julie! I can't figure out how to add friends on there.. But my name is Courtnin07 if you want to add me. I increased my Protein a bit more and my Water intake seemed to really help :-)
  23. Thank you thank you! Ahh such an amazing feeling! I still can't get over how 'weird' my arms and elbows are feeling and by weird I mean boney Getting the lap band is the best choice I've ever made
  24. Today I had a shower, as I normally would. When I stepped out and dried myself off, I realized..I could wrap an average size bath towel around my entire body! What a great feeling!
