  1. Umm, I might take a pregnancy test if there are chances you could be pregnant? I am also very regular and I had surgery on the 16th and had my regular cycle start on the 18th. There wasn't anything abnormal about mine, but everyone's body is different :-)
  2. Thank you everyone for the replys and advice! I talked with the nutritionist and she gave me the same advice, stay hydrated and protein! So I'm working hard to get that all in. I'm glad I'm not the only one who was turned off of food. It feels like a two week hang over, when ever I hear the word "eggs" it makes me want to gag lol. Hahaha and it's making me "feel" nuts.. Haven't ate any Thanks again!
  3. I've just have not been hungry at all, and often when I even look at food I feel nauseas. I'm literally having to force myself to eat, it's nuts. Thanks for the suggestion, I think I'll use some 2% or atleast 1% for awhile and call my nutritionist tomorrow
  4. Hi, I'm just shy of two weeks post op, wondering how many calories a day people would typically eat at this stage? I've been eatting around 500 because I just haven't been able to get anymore in.. I feel like crap a lot of the time, assuming because I'm not getting enough.
  5. So sorry to hear that, I hope you have a speedy and healthy recovery. I was just banded on Nov 16th, and similar boat.. Broke my foot in 2 places on Nov 3, I luckily was still able to go thru with my surgery. I wish you the best of luck!
  6. Thank you everyone for the great ideas! I guess I need to start being more creative. I haven't found myself to have much of an appetite these days or crave anything.. I just knew I had enough of cottage cheese lol. I limited myself to 1/4 cup of the mashed potatoes and it deffinately hit the spot!
  7. Thank you! I've been very careful measuring everything I eat, I just don't think I can handle eatting cottage cheese again today lol. Do you have any suggestions on what else would be good to eat during the mushie stage? Also have you ever had difficulty with potatoes prepared another way? Thanks for your help
  8. Hi, I am 10 days post op and am now on the 'mushies' stage. Just curious if anyone has ever had trouble with mashed potatoes? It's one of the foods listed on my surgeons guide, but my mom has me totally freaked out that they will get stuck or something. So just wondering someone's experience who is banded with them, I've been kind of nervous about eatting.
  9. That happened to me yesterday as well. I also started puréed food yesterday (9 days post op), but it happened about 5 hours after I ate. All of a sudden I felt uncomfortable and thought I had gas, but vomited. Now my sternum hurts, well my whole abdomen hurts.
  10. I'm 10 days post op, so far I have lost 25lbs. Thats how much my best friends 17 month old Daughter weighs
  11. Hi Dreamers, I've just been following my post-op diet the surgeon recommended and I feel like my body is melting away. It's insane, my jeans which were tight on me last Thursday are getting baggy, especially in the bum. I really have noticed quite the difference in my body, even my face is looking more slender and I'm 7 days post -op. I've only been able to consume about 800-900 calories a day. I'm now down 25lbs. Has anyone else had an experience like this? I am only 23, so maybe age has a bit of a factor. I did the 'LA weight loss' program a few years ago and lost 60lbs in 3 months, so maybe it's just the way my body is. I would almost prefer to lose slower, not sure if that would make a difference in loose skin or not?
  12. I am right with Daisy.. I also just turned 23 in October and was banded last Friday. I thought I would be super emotional about being banded, so far all I feel is pride. I'm so proud and feel so privileged to have the opportunity to get healthy now, before it's a bigger problem then body image like diabetes, stroke, joint problems. I am already down 23lbs and nothing tastes as good as healthy feels. Best decision I have ever made!
  13. It would normally be about a 4-5 hour drive then 1.5hrs on a ferry, but because of the snow.. We had to take a longer route. There isn't anyone local who can do my fills unfortunately. I had a consultation with a few different surgeons and just chose the one I was most comfortable with. So unfortunately, it's quite a haul every time I go for a fill. But because I live so far away my doctor agreed to give me fills if needed over 4 years instead of 2. I live in British Columbia, Canada. How have you been doing?
  14. Thanks lady's! I weighed myself again today.. Haha trying not to obsess! But I'm down another 4lbs, so 21lbs in total. This seems quite rapid to me, is this normal?
  15. I just weighed myself for the first time since I started my pre-op diet. Did 9 days of a low carb diet and am 4 days post op and I'm down 17lbs. What an amazing feeling!
  16. I was only given a prescription for Tylenol 3's but was told it was okay to take gravol if I needed. I took gravol every 12 hours for the first two days and it helped me a lot! I would ask your surgeon first tho. Hope your feeling better!
  17. I've been having gas the past two days, yesterday I had to travel 12 hours in the car to get home so that made it pretty rough. Every time I felt gas pains I just got out of the car and walked for a bit and that helped relieved a lot of it. I find if I walk to long of a distance tho I get light headed and begin to feel nauseas. Happy healing everyone
  18. I completely anticipated it to be way worse then it was, but I'm also a big baby and usually have a low pain tolerance. I'm still feeling pretty good today, except I tend to do weird things in my sleep and ended up rolling onto my tummy in the night oooouchies! Thanks for the well wishes, feels so great to begin this journey and start to heal Congrats to you aswell amclapp, hope your feeling well!
  19. Had my surgery today, and I am feeling great. It was a little rough for the first out of recovery, but I've been so fortunate to have no gas and very little nausea. I'm feeling so positive and excited about this journey and have no second thoughts on my desicion.
  20. Beautiful! Congratulations on your success this far!
  21. Thank you lady's! I'm a little anxious, so I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row. I'm staying in a hotel over night and then a 8 hour drive home tomorrow eeek! I figured if I couldn't use the ensure my dad could (he's very UNDER weight.. Go figure)
  22. My surgery is tomorrow as well! Good luck, I wish you a speedy recovery
  23. Just wondering what most people have in the first few days of post op? And if anyone has had ensure. My surgery is tomorrow morning, so I double check with my surgeon.. But I purchased some Ensure that was high in Protein.. Curious if others use it?
  24. I've been reading this site for a couple months now, I will be having surgery on Friday for my band. I just wanted to say I really appreciate the advice you put out there, I also appreciate the 'black and white' I think some people may want to be (hate to use this term) coddled and have everything painted in rainbows, but you say it like it is and I admire that about you! Congratulations on your success, you are very inspiring!
