What To Eat Post Op?

Just wondering what most people have in the first few days of post op? And if anyone has had ensure.

My surgery is tomorrow morning, so I double check with my surgeon.. But I purchased some Ensure that was high in Protein.. Curious if others use it?

Sorry to tell you that I bought 8 of them, couldn't get 1 down and threw the other 7 away. It was the clear ensure. Having said that I haven't been able to get any protein drinks, powders or enhanced foods down, except the optifast. You do need to follow your dr's instructions. I could have pudding, yogurt, soup and after a week went back to my pre op shake, optifast.

The Ensure High Protein would work, the other variations aren't nearly high enough in protein.

Talk to your surgeon for sure because he'll have a strict post op diet for you to follow.

Thank you lady's! I'm a little anxious, so I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row. I'm staying in a hotel over night and then a 8 hour drive home tomorrow eeek! I figured if I couldn't use the ensure my dad could (he's very UNDER weight.. Go figure) :)

Ensure is loaded with cal try:

I'm drinking Water first thing in am, the Protein drink, water, iced tea, Lentil soup which is high in prot and Fiber, water, Jello, if I'm desperate I eat reduced fat laughing cow cheese, milk, silk protein and milk and again lentil soup.
