  1. I am another coffee drinker ( previously) but after the surgery coffee doesn't feel good for me either. it is too strong , too bitter. and I only can handle 3-4 oz. and I started with 2 . the only time when I can have my coffee if I am eating the Protein bar. then it is ok. but again 3-4 oz. about the tummy... I just know that we need to drink more Water because coffee can dehydrate your body.
  2. sorry, my Doctor said wait for 4 weeks before swimming.
  3. Crystal light or sweeten water with 0 cal. like Fruit2O I notice that I cannot drink regular water after surgery. I mean it doesn't taste right. but I still continue to drink my Fruit2O. I would suggest to find or buy small cups and small plates. right after the surgery I was able to drink only form expresso cups which contain only 2.5 oz. and I bought cup with measure inside so when I eat chicken broth I can put 1/4 cup. ( I cannot eat more) Also before surgery I bought isopure and wasn't able to drink 8 oz from 1 time. it has after taste. but after surgery isopure was my friend. it was the protein drink I was able to put inside myself. I ate tea spoon, I don't use the baby spoon. also has different spices at home. if you cook yourself the chicken broth will taste different if you will use different spices and you will not be tired from the same food.
  4. I am slow looser. For the first month I lost 17 lbs. you can see it in my signature.
  5. wait... you might be change your opinion after surgery:) also what I did. I add protein powder to blender + coffee + ice ( someone on this forum suggestion) and got my a-la -frappuchino
  6. i was told that I need to eat 60-70g of protein and I am not always good at that. my usual intake 45-55 g Oops forget to write about others I was told that my calories intake should be under 700-800 for now. watch carbs ( don't have a number but on myfitnesspall I put 55)
  7. mine took 45 min. I was longer in recovery room ( for 2 hours)
  8. I was allowed to drink decaf coffee. and I am ( or I was) the coffee drinker 5 cups per day. But after surgery my Body said that it doesn't like coffee. I cannot drink it right now. I tried it with skim milk ( before I only use black) still not good. the maximum what I can drink is 3 oz of coffee and always don't finish it up.
  9. I think after you start loosing the weight he might change his mind. I wouldn't be surprised that he might follow you on this path. Just don't push him a lot. give him time to realize it himself.
  10. Hi, everyone. Just want to share with you one of the recipe. Zucchini pancake: 1 zucchini (or 2 small) - about 500 g 1 egg or replace with eggbeater 4-5 tbsp oatmeal salt spices Fresh herbs (dill, parsley) 1 clove garlic (optional) Wash zucchini, peeled, grated on a medium grater. Gently squeeze the juice. Beat the egg with salt and spices, pour into zucchini, put the oatmeal, chopped herbs and crushed garlic. Stir the mixture well, if you select a lot of juice, then drain it. Preheat a frying pan cooking oil, a tablespoon spread pancakes and fry over medium heat on both sides until golden in color. Serve with Greek yogurt.

  16. Sometimes stomach growling not because of hunger but because of gas their. Also I notice that sometimes my stomach growling and I feel hunger but it is real thirstiness. What is you food schedule? For me it look like you didn't get enough Protein. I am eating 5-6 times a day. I have Breakfast around either 8 or 9 in 2.5 hours sometimes I feel hungry and I enjoy my protein ( either yogurt or shake) in another 2.5 - 3 hours I have lunch where I try to put protein first tuna or meat or cheese. and some veggies. after that in another 3 hours I have snack with cheese or Protein shake or Isopure in another 3 hours - dinner. and sometimes before bed isopure if I didn't get all my 60-70g of protein per day. and in between all that eating I am drinking Water. I feel hungry only when I am delaying my snack. An btw for the 4th week I only lost 1 lbs. it was one day when I gain 1.5 lbs and it took me 2 days to loose it again.
  17. Good Luck!! Speedy recovery... and WALK WALK WALK....
  18. Hmm, I probably eating more then you. I notice that I can eat 4 oz of liquefied food ( like soup/yogurt/etc) but solid food I usually can eat only 2 oz of protein ( like fish/meat/cheese) but in addition I can eat another 3 oz of tomatoes. or 2 oz of veggies like squash/zucchini. and Once I was so hungry that I ate 9 oz of tomatoes with fresh mozzarella. I was sure that I will return everything right away but it went down smoothly and I didn't feel any discomfort. but after that I never had another 9 oz again.
  19. I am another one slow looser. Today i start my 5th week and last week I only lost 1lb. My weight went up and down which make me crazy But today It went down 0.5 lb below the previous lowest number. So total since surgery I lost only 16.3 lbs. I don't like how slow it is moving but I cannot change it. I try to exercise but it is only 20-30 min per day. I become tired. In the size wise I am down to 18W from 22W but so far only jeans because they are stretch. Hopefully will soon wear 18W pants I see that my body is stubborn, but I am stubborn as well so will see who win about food it become a bit hard. I notice that it is hard for me to eat meat and fish and I try to avoid it. only eat it if it is mince and cooked after that. but with all shakes and etc... my calories intake between 550-700. so I am not sure but sometimes I think it is a bit too much.
  20. Honey Bee, I am sorry you need to go through all of that. but all of us need to learn how to eat, I am sure that it is harder for you then for us. But I really hope that with time pass you will forget the negative part of this surgery and will be looking forward to the progress. How much you loose since the surgery?
  21. tomorrow I would go to 5 week and down only 15 lbs. I always want to eat at night. I always hungry after dinner. Start doing elliptical but only 10-15 per day. very tired after that. metabolism is dead doesn't want to burn calories.
