  1. Mine is pretty bad and I am almost 4 months out and pray it won't get any worse...my is very thin on top and front. I am taking vitamins and getting my protein. I don't want to cut it but may have to.
  2. I have salad now..3 months post op...but I mostly just eat the meat out and a couple of bites of salad.
  3. Congratulations! I was banded and it was removed and I was sleeved at the same time. My doctor was not sure how good my success would be because of having the band first and being used to eating then having food back up in my throat. That I might eat too much! But so far so good! I am almost half way to goal since June 25th. I hated that band and am so happy to be rid of it!
  4. My insurance turned me down initially...so I called them and didn't just talk to the lady on the phone who was "suppose" to be helping me. She told me it got turned down by a nurse. I asked to speak to that nurse directly and explained my situation. She told me that just 10 minutes before my doctor has called and spoke to the doctor in charge of making the decision. 3 days later I was approved. I am very thankful to my doctor but most of all to God for my surgery. I have come a long way...I still have a long way to go but I am getting there. I think you should take charge of your life...starting with your insurance company!
  5. I have not had bread since early June and I don't miss it one bit. I was like you about breads and pasta. I wasn't sure I could give them up but I don't even want them. I bought some flatouts to make little open face tuna melts...but I just prefer the tuna. I do eat some carbs but not very many. I have Fiber One cereal some times and last night I had a turkey roast and a little baked sweet potato. It's really not about what you give up..it's about all you gain. I have lost 73 lbs from my highest weight and a lady stopped me going down the hall at work yesterday and said. "You sure do look good..you have lost a lot of weight but not only that your countenance looks different...you look happier". I told her I am a lot happier and more confident...giving up bread was definantly worth that! I love my sleeve and I am sooooo happy I have it! I can't wait until I am at goal...I didn't give up anything but being fat!
  6. You look awesome. I am about half way to goal and hope to make it by my 1 year anniversary. I have terrible saggy skin on my neck and my arms are pretty bad. I hope I can have all the excess skin removed one day! Congratulation.!!
  7. I need size 16 and 14s post them on the website and price so I can look!
  8. Yeah Kroger store brands are really good!
  9. I got mine at Walmart. I have the vanilla, caramel, and raspberry. It's fairly expensive so I only bought one bottle at a time.
  10. I put 4 oz of almond milk, 4 oz of 50 calorie lite orange juice, 1 scoop Simply Right vanilla protein powder, 1 tsp orange metamucil, 1 tsp splenda..It taste like an orange dreamcicle. I also use vanilla protein powder in my coffee like creamer!
  11. It is good to know I am not the only one who cannot take the Bariatric Advantage. They make me feel sick and I have thrown them up as well. I usually wait till I am hungry at night and take it right before bed. I hate them! I have had them with and without food...still the same! My husband is taking them now and he says they are fine. I am going to look for an alternative because seriously I only take them about once a week because of the nausea. I thought it might go away because right after surgery I couldn't tolerate the Protein shakes very well either. I switched to Almond milk and can do the Protein shake with it! If anyone has suggestions about a good Multivitamin please let me know.
  12. Ok...decaf gives me heartburn but regular I have no problems with. I get heartburn when I eat Bar B Que Pork Rinds! But I can eat jalapenos...no problems...go figure!
  13. I am doing great! I have had a couple of stall but even lost 2 lbs while we were on vacation. I am losing about 12 lbs a month but that seems to be slowing down. I walk on the treadmill but was trying to do a little jogging but everytime I do...my back starts hurting. I am hoping to be to the half way to goal mark when I go to see my surgeion in Oct. I have 5 lbs to go....wish me luck!
  14. I had my surgery 3 weeks before you and I have lost 70 lbs! You have done awesome! I have 5 more lbs to be half way to my goal!!
  15. We are at about the same amount of loss and lbs to goal!! When was your surgery? I buy the prepopped corned...3 cups has 150 calories...so I have about 1/2 to 3/4 cup and it makes me happy dappy!
  16. I have been drinking through a straw since 4 weeks after my surgery. It depends on what I eat as to how full I feel. When I eat yogurt 4oz I don't usually feel as full as when I eat 3 oz of chicken. I can eat almost a whole can of tuna and feel full for hours or I can eat hummus and be hungry again in an hour. So it depends on what kind of food you eat. Try eating meat..it fills you up better and keeps you full longer. Protein shakes keep me full too!
  17. Congratulations!!! I will be three months out in 4 days and I am only 67 lbs down. My weight loss has slowed to a crawl. I eat between 600 -700 calories daily, drink my water, and walk. I am thankful for what I have accomplished and don't want to get discouraged because I know the weight loss will come. I am hoping to be half way to goal for my doctor's visit in Oct. that means I have 8 lbs to lose between now and then so wish me luck!
  18. I have always been the friendly, life of the party, kind of person....(jolly fat lady) I got invited but I didn't go. I didn't go to my 30 year class reunion because I didn't want to be the fattest person there. When I went to our 20th...a girl who was very overweight...made a statement in front of my whole class about how much weight I had gained. I was a cheerleader in high school and very thin! After 3 kids and mulitple stomach surgeries...I gain a lot of weight. After that I never wanted to go to any group events. I sing and always get invited to sing at different churches and events but I got where I didn't want to because I didn't want anyone to talk about the fat lady singing. I still shy away from these things but I believe as I get closer to my goal I will get more comfortable. We are going to my first work function in years this month and I can actually get into some reg size clothes! Praise the Lord!!!!
  19. You look awesome! Don't you hate it when someone thinks it is easy just because you had surgery? It is hard work, eating right and working out. Right now I am on a 2 week stall and I am just trying to stay encouraged..thanks for your help! Keep up the great work!
  20. You look awesome!!! So proud of you! You don't even look like the same person!
  21. My weight loss is really slowing down but I think I am still losing inches!
  22. My date was 6/25 and I am down 66 lbs from highest and 44 lbs post op!
  23. I had the band to sleeve revision so I did not have to wait 6 months but since yours has been off a while..you may have to start the process all over again. The best answer is to read your insurance coverage and then contact them.
