  1. Congratulation! You are doing great! I had a high BMI and a lot of weight to lose. I am 11 lbs from being half way to goal. That will be a significant goal for me!
  2. I try to set a few mini-goals along the way and Celebrate them as I accomplish each. My first goal was to when I got to 250 we would celebrate and we did. My next mini-goal was to get to 240 by vacation. I may miss this goal by 1lbs but it still feels like a victory! I cannot believe how far I have come yet I still have a long way to go. My next mini-goal is to be down 75 lbs and half way to goal when I see my doctor in October. I have 13 lbs to make that mini-goal and they weight loss has fallen off...so I guess I will up the exercise. I hate not reaching goals. I am 54 years old and will get my Master's Degree next year...I think we are never too old to reach for our dreams!
  3. You are in inspiration to us all and you will never know how much your comments and post have meant to me. We can always count on you for a reply and educational advice. Please continue to be there for us as we will try to be there for you as you strive to reach your goal! We know you will and will lead the way for the rest of us seeking to reach ours! Congratulations!
  4. I ate what my doc told me also...which was soft blended foods. I thought they were delicious since I had been doing the full liquids for 2 weeks. I had blended chicken stew, spaghetti, turkey chili...whatever the family had for dinner. I could not eat very much....about 3 or 4 teaspoons but it was enough. Now I do not have Pasta at all. I use spaghetti squash and zucchini for my pasta's. I watch my carbs and count my calories!
  5. This has way too many calories for me! I think I will just stick to my spagetti squash! Thanks for the info anyway!
  6. I was sleeved by Dr. Mailapur in Huntsville 6.25.12. He and his team are awesome! I would recommend him to anyone and would do it again in a heartbeat. How are your stats?
  7. No brag..just fact!! Awesome job!
  8. I eat the Fiber One 80 calorie cereal. It taste good. I don't eat it often because of carbs but if I must have some. I eat 3/4 cup with 1/2 cup almond milk and most of the time cannot get it all down. I really do chew it well too!
  9. Anyone on here eat pork rinds?
  10. Congratulations!!! Whoooo hoooo! Can't wait to get there!
  11. I have not had that happen but sure hope it does. Right after surgery...my hair started turning gray. I noticed but no one else did...so I am keeping my fingers crossed that what happened to you happens to me!!!
  12. Today I had: Breakfast: scrambled egg dusted with shredded cheese and 3 thin chicken lunch meat slices 126 calories Lunch: 1/4 c chicken, pinto Beans, salad with sour cream, avocado (1/4 cup altogether) 75 calories Glazed donut 135 calories (I know bad, bad, bad..but it was a treat for a group project) Dinner: Chicken & Shrimp grilled, grilled mixed veggies(1/2 cup, no tortillas) 218 calories Calories 536 Carbs 31g Fat 23g Protein 54g I may have 1/2 Protein shake to get my protein up!
  13. I like Simply Right Protein Powder from Sam's Club. My favorite way to drink it is a scoop with Almond milk (less calories) 1/2 cup 50 calorie orange juice, 1 teaspoon orange metamucil (sf) and a teaspoon of Splenda. It taste like an Orange dreamcicle.
  14. Thank you so much for your kind words! I appreciate the encouragement!
  15. At 10 days out I could have mushies...so I had some very thin oatmeal and grits. You could possible blend an egg if your surgeon approves. It all depends on the doctor. You have to be patient and remember a whole lot of it is head hunger. I really suffered with this because during my first 2 weeks my daughter and her kids stayed with us and they ate pizza, spagetti and everything I like and it was around the 4th of July. I would just get up an go to the bedroom. I also had tomato basil soup which was yummy!
  16. I eat almonds and pecans and I am 8 weeks out. I chew them till they are mush!
  17. You look awesome...congratulations!!
  18. I can really see a huge difference! Congratulations...keep up the good work!
  19. Yeah when I hit a certain goal...my reward was a Gigi's cupcake...one of my all time favorites. I cut it in half and gave my hubby the other half. I took one bite and it was way too sweet...raked the frosting off and took a bite of the cake...threw it in the garbage can! I just didn't care for it...it wasn't what I expected it to be. I would rather step on the scale and see more lbs gone!
  20. I had a lap band put in back in 2007 and it never worked much for me. I told everyone I was having it done and when it failed..so did I. I was extremely embarrassed when people saw me years later and said "I thought you had the lapband". So when I have my sleeve I didn't tell many people because I was afraid of failure again. But now 8 weeks out I really want to tell the world but I am still afraid. I have lost about 58 lbs so far but everyday I think...what if this is all I lose or what if I gain it all back. Especially when I am in a stall or gain some instead of lose. It is still a daily battle and I have to remind myself that I am doing great. I fight head hunger everyday and I am always afraid I am over eating. I try to stay around 600 calories a day. Protein first! We were walking everyday but we decided to start jogging and I hurt my back...so now I have to take a week off to let it get better. Since I am not walking I gained .6 and that stinks but I am going to keep on keeping on. I wanted to post my picture on here of how far I have come as an encouragement to myself! I want to lose the weight and I don't want to be ashamed of how I look but I never, ever want to go back there!
  21. I have also donated 3 huge black garbage bags full of clothes! I am trying to only buy a few items. I bought one new pair of jeans and couldn't believe I could even get in them. I have added a pic that shows my progress!
  22. I agree with you! No one at work could tell I had lost weight and I was just like you down about 43 lbs. I bought me 2 shirts that were 2 sizes smaller than I wore before surgery...and they fit!!! I wore one to work on the next Monday and everyone was coming up to me saying...wow, how much weight have you lost. There is even this one guy who calls me Skinny Minnie (he is a hoot). It makes me feel great! This weekend I bought a pair of straight leg jeans 2 sizes smaller and didn't try them on....I told my husband that even if I couldn't wear them now I could in a few weeks..he agreed. We got home and they fit great in the waist (I was so surprised I could get them on at all) and were too big in the legs and hips. So please try a smaller size...you might have a clothes swap at your local Wellness Center or YMCA check to see! You have done amazing and I am so proud for you!!
