  1. Omgosh!! My sense of smell is crazy right now! I thought it was just me. I can smell bad breath from somone on the other side of the room! It was so hard sitting in a movie theater yesterday, Lol. I thought NO ONE in the room brushed their teeth. I really hope this eventually goes away.
  2. I havent lost one pound since day nine. it's been 17 days for me since surgery. 8 days without losing is getting frustrating.

  4. It was 5 business days for my Cigna plan. Good luck!
  5. Wow, thanks for all the posts but I think some people took it too literally. I wasn't talking about reposted topics, I am very aware that this is an opinion forum, I don't get upset if someone doesn't agree with my opinion, and I am not being over sensitive. I was just wondering about other sites. Actually, I don't get upset with any posts and if I don't like what's being posted, I do stop reading them. I was just making an observation and stating "my" opinion.
  6. I love that I found this sight but is it me or are some people here mean? I am noticing more and more that people answer posts with jugdmental and snippy attitudes. I didn't think that's what this site is all about. Are there other sites out there that are all about sleevers that others like better?
  7. I live in Canton. Had my surgery an hour away in Cleveland. My son lives in Columbus.
  8. try flavors that before surgery you would have never drank. i have never been a chocolate person and now i want chocolate. my tastes buds have changed so much (i'm 8 days post-op). i'm also making mine with unsweetened silk almond milk and ice in the blender. hope this helps.
  9. They needed the documentation of me seeing a nutritionist. My PCP saw me for the 3 month supervised diet because the requirements said it has to be supervised by your doctor OR a nutritionst. My advocate got me in that day with a nutrionist and she sent them her report that day. It was weird but it turned out ok. It was the week of Thanksgiving so I ended up waiting longer than a week for a response.
  10. Oh no Ms Jackie! Praying for you!! Hang in there, remember I was denied at first too and then approved. It's like they don't EVER approve on the first try. Keep me updated.
  11. I was approved by Cigna. They require 5 business days for a decision. They said some additional paperwork was needed after I submitted so my advocate sent it that day. (even though she already sent it the first time). It was re-submitted for "reconsideration" and took and additional 5 business days. I had my surgery 5 days ago. They also require a 3 month supervised diet but no documentation of a weight history. good luck!!
  12. ok, next question. (sorry if i'm nagging :/). my nut told me my first priority is to get in the fluids (try to get 64oz, hasn't happened yet), and my second priority is Protein (start at 30gms, increase to 60 then 80, i haven't done too bad). my question is, what about calorie?. i've tracked the last two days since i've been home and haven't reached 400 calories a day. should i be concerned about this? or is this something that comes later when it's a little easier to maintain once i'm off of just fluids? by the way. . . . it's still crazy to me that i can't get in enough calories, considering what i used to eat, but that's a whole different topic. any thoughts? p.s hot tea has been my savior for getting in some of my fluids
  13. that is extreme. my doctor said 6 weeks!
  14. i just wanna be "feeling great" like everyone else. i told me husband "its been 4 whole days" and he was like "duh, its ONLY been 4 days". i think i am expecting too much too soon. so i decided to take it easy for a couple more days and just rest. my husband caught me folding the laundry and freaked out on me a little bit, Lol. everyone heals different and i am learning all about patience with this.
  15. thanks, now i dont feel like such a crybaby. are you still taking the liquid pain meds? i finally cut the dose in half and am able to take off the binder.
  16. almost sounds like white chili. that's made with canned chicken and the kids love it but its made with northern beans instead of kidney beans. i\the recipe is on the back of the mccormick seasoning pack for white chili and i add diced tomatoes to mine. yummy! add fat free sour cream and fat free cheddar cheese to the top.
  17. i'm so jealous! im still in pain. did anyone else have a hernia repair? i'm thinking this is why my pain is so high unless its just the fact that i'm a big wimp! Lol. hopefully today will be better for me. just feeling extremely blessed to have come as far as i have come. good luck to everyone else in your recoveries.
  18. haha! i just gotta say this. . . . . .passing gas has never felt so good!! i just had to tell that to people i knew would understand. hopefully this means no more gas pains! whew, glad that's over. goodnight all!
  19. I just got home too. I am having the pain where the big incision is on my right side. I had a hiatal hernia repair too and maybe that's causing the pain. I tell ya, my surgery wasn't until 4pm and when I woke up yesterday morning in all that pain, I thought "what have I done to myself". Today was a whole lot better and I'm just so happy to be home. We got the hard part over with (I hope).
  20. I don't have to be at the hospital until 12:30pm. The "prep" made me so sick! I was so nauseated and vomitted horribly. Hopefully this is not setting the way for things to come. See you all in a few days. Good luck to everyone!!
  21. So i'm having my surgery at St Vincent's Charity Hospital in Cleveland and I live an hour south of there in Canton. They are calling for 6-10 inches of snow between 7am tomorrow and 7am on Thursday! Crap! I hope they don't postpone my surgery due to weather. I mean we will leave 4 hours early if we have to but what if the surgeon gets snowed in?! I just feel with the way my luck is, that something is going to keep this from happening on Thursday!! Lord please help me get through this and make it to post-op!!
  22. my biggest fear is getting sick beforehand and not being able to have it that day. everyone around me is getting sick! i'm hoping the flu shot will save me. . .
  23. OK ladies! 3 days to go. Are you ready?? I packed me a little bag for the hospital and just ordered some samples of protein packs online. I have bought some already from GNC but want to try some different options. Do you have everything you need for the hospital ready to go, and for when you come home? I keep thinking of little things, like hair ties, LOL. Anyone getting as nervous/excited as me? Tell me how your feeling so I know I'm not alone.
  24. thank you for posting. i have 4 days til my surgery and i don't if it's just me, but i have been reading nothing but negative posts lately. reading your story makes me feel positive so again, thank you
