  1. On my phone and search is not working. Surgery tomorrow at 1230 any advice to give from all you postopers? Thanks ladies and gents.
  2. Good luck to you well. Let me know how if goes. Anyone doing single incision? I'm supposed to as long as they don't find a hernia.
  3. Oh yeah I have gas x strip too forgot
  4. They said one to two nights. Just bringing two sets of comfy clothes, robe, slippers phone and chapstick . Making it simple. Have to be there at 1030 tomorrow. I say the same thing people have surgery all the time and are fine.
  5. Just the fact that I'm having surgery. I've never been put under before. I have a two year old and don't really think I came to terms with the fact that I am having surgery until today. It has been so up in the air. It's now all very real
  6. How was your pain with the single incision? I'm going tomorrow for single incision at 1230! I'm freaking out about the pain. Did you bruise at all?
  7. Hi all. I'm scheduled tomorrow at 1230 for surgery and was still waiting on one clearance from the endocrinologist. I got it today at 730am! I'm a ball of emotions. I haven't really dealt with the fact that I'm having surgery because I didn't know own it I was going to. Now I'm just a wreck. Keep me in your prayers tomorrow! I'm freaking out lol. Good luck to all the sleevers this week and all of December. <3
  8. You're right mscali. It still stinks through lol. Hopefully this afternoon I should know what's going on. I talked to the scheduling lady at the Bariatric center and I have her working as my advocate between my Dr and the endocrinologist. She is brining my case home with her and said she will call everyone tomorrow. On the plus side last night my surgery got pushed back from 10am to 1230pm . So if this happens to go in to Monday we have some time in the morning to get things finished. They don't want to cancel or move me because there are no more December dates. I do not things happens for a reason but my whole path thus far has just been one thing after another. Hopefully this all gets sorted out today. Prayers that my tests comes back negative that way surgery is a go.
  9. I know. I just don't want to redo any clearances again and the preop diet again. This has all cost so much. I know it's my health on the line so it's a big deal. But I'm just on the edge of breaking down.
  10. So three weeks ago it was found that I have an adrenal mass. Some masses can produce hormones which if put under general anesthetia can cause bp problems. It could spike you bp very high and you could possibly stroke out. So it's good thing they found it prior to surgery. Last Friday I went to the endocrinologist and she ordered some blood work and a 24 hour urine collection. She said make a follow up for Wednesday or Thursday to go over the results. Wednesday night at 5pm I get a call from the endocrinologist office stating that the lab gave me the wrong collection kit and the test has to be redone. I then learn the test had a 5 day turn around. So I blew up because my surgery is on Monday! The lab tech made a call to quest diagnostic and they said the results should be in on Friday (today). So Thursday morning I call the endocrinologist and ask if there is any reason for the visit on Thursday because my labs weren't in yet. The nurse says yes because she was to talk to me about the blood labs. So I got there knowing I won't get everything the first set of results are normal. But the big ones that we need are the other ones from urine. The doctor says yeah well that test takes a week to come in. I said so what was the point of today's visit? You told me last Friday to make a follow up to go over the results. She said well I thought you understood. I said understand what? I told you my surgery was the 10th and yiu said to come back on Thursday to discuss the results. Now your telling me that you knew last week my results would not be in on time. A d she just stared at me. So here we are Friday at 350pm and I still have no idea if I'm having my surgery on Monday. I'm trying hard not to be upset. I want to eat SOOOOO bad. I'm on day 10 of liquids and ready to kill someone. I have my Bariatric scheduler calling the doctors and quest diagnostics today get answers. Hopefully I know soon or ill have to cancel.
  11. My hospital said within 30 days. I'm sure each hospital/surgeon has their own policies. But mines is thirty.
  12. My hospital said it's good for 30 days. I'm sure each hospital/surgeon has their own policies. But mines is thirty.
  13. I'm the 10th as well and I think it really just sank in what I'm doing. I know it's good thing as I have a lot of issues just starting bc of my weight. I've been pretty lucky thus far having no comorbidities. And I'm just so ready to be done with this weight battle. Lots of luck to you.
  14. Like Benjamin said it's usually has to do with your liver. Also the preop diet prepares you for the first few weeks post op. Getting your used to doing liquids and such.
  15. They my surgeon requires pulmonary clearance. They want to make sure your lungs can handle it. You'll do some breathing tests with the respiratory therapist. Then probably see the doctor. Mine sent me home with an overnight pulse ox to check for sleep apnea. If you need it in would definitely try and get in ASAP in case they want to do more tests.
  16. Sorry your having a hard time. What I keep telling myself is that losing this weight prior to going under makes it that much better for my recovery and for my liver. I just found out I have a fatty liver which I am sure most of us do. I'm trying to do what I can to help it shrink and get healthy. I wish you strength. PM if you want to chat are you on our December fb group?
  17. And to clarify I had two egd's not two sleeves
  18. My Dr only does the egd if you have heartburn prior to sleeve bc the sleeve can cause heartburn. They want to make sure your esophagus, stomach and duodenum are ok prior to surgery. But he says you don't need it then go with it. I've had two and they are expensive lol. Although,on another note, I'm not sure what ekg and egd have to do with each other in this post ...
  19. I had two and my first one the total billed to insurance was almost 11k. I just had the second one last Monday and so far that was is only 6k but not everything is in yet. Ended up paying around 700 for the first one. This crazy!
