  2. I got my surgery this morning and last night I was crapping myself! I was SO nervous, I just kept thinking of the worst! I hardly slept and I felt like I was going to throw up. Now after surgery I really should have saved myself all that stress and worry because it really is how people say. In the operating room the doctor layed me on the table and injected me and said it was pain relief and I literally conked out, I was totally put for the count, next thing I woke up, didn't even know if I had surgery or not until I tried to wriggle in bed and felt some pain, they gave me morphine and I didn't feel a thing! I was just so happy it was over and now I'm not I'm much pain, I know it's hard not to worry.. But trust me, save your energy, these is NOTHING to fear, I've felt worse pain hitting my big toe off a chair haha best of luck pet. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  3. I mean I'm no doctor or anything but I would just say its your internal stritches healing still of course we will have lumps and bumps for a while but if they are really concerning you, if they are uncomfortable or oozing still then call your doctor/consultant. Otherwise I wouldn't really worry about it. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  4. Everything went well, better than I expected, got my band 6 hours ago and i feel fine just some wind pain but I can drink water, tea and hot chocolate, worried my band isn't working already because I can drink so much!
  5. Thanks guys! I feel weird though, like I feel there is no band in me? I can drink a fair big of water. I suppose in 2 weeks il soon realise how much of a difference it makes when I eat soft food? Anyone else ever wake up after their op thinking 'hold on.. I don't feel like anything is inside me, and I can drink quite a bit of fluids?'
  6. Whoops I ment 'NOW' not 'no' lol these pain killers really get to ur head! Lol
  7. Thanks yea just walked around the hospital corridor so I'm doing good
  8. Just got banded 4 hours ago, I was SO nervous but it wasnt as bad as I expected woke up with pain but they gave me pain relief and now I'm fine, just drugged up so sorry if I spell things wrong lol the funny thing is that I don't feel like there's a band inside me :/ lol it's strange.
  9. Yea I try to be supper sweet when I'm in hospital or at the doctors because I usually get grumpy nurses but then they lighten up when I had samonella when I was 17 a grumpy nurse kept poking me with a needle 8 times 8 different places! Eventually I burst out crying and said 'I'm sorry I've just been though a lot today' and I think she felt bad and turned out really nice lol yea I really hope it goes well, super nervous lol thanks
  10. I arrived at the hospital today to get my blood tests done, the doctor who done it wasn't very nice and it worrys me about tomarro I have deep vains and he stuck a needle in both wrists, both arms, left hand and left foot I feel like a pin cushion, and now I'm super worried about my op tomarro morning any words of wisdom/advice?
  11. Thanks tmf, she is a really really good friend but I know for a fact she will tell her boyfriend, they are really close, and I just don't want anyone to know. Yea I guess il just have to tell her I can't go, but I just hope she doesn't get pissed at me when she leaves for university
  12. Ok, So I'm getting banded on Sunday 12th and can't wait, I've only told my mum, dad and partner. I don't want anyone to know (personal preference because where I'm from word gets out). The problem is, my best friend is going away to university in september and it's her birthday 5 days after my op and she wants to go party and I agreed to it (only of I'm feeling up to it, just goin to sit all evening, no dancing or drinking). But the problem now is she's going for a meal at our favourite Chinese and just told her I'm on a diet and I can't eat Chinese (literally can't eat 5 days after op!) and she just keeps saying 'aw just treat urself once, it's my last birthday here because I'm leaving the country to go to university) so I feel super bad and I can't back out of my best friends final birthday in the same country as me, she will never forgive me, and I can't tell her I'm getting my op because I'm worried she'll let it slip to someone any advise? What would you do?
  13. Does anyone know how long after getting banded you're allowed to smoke again? A week? What if I just have one or two a week?
  14. Oh my god that sounds awful! I'm so sorry I start school in September and thankfully getting surgery next week but I can understand you don't want to miss time from school and you feel like its taking forever just hope and pray your infection clears up soon so you can get your band! best of luck x
  15. Are you going to be the first patient he's ever operated on?!
  16. Wow guys, thanks for your advice, yea there is an unbelievable amount of salt in things! But on this diet I've only been eating fresh fruit and veg and skimmed milk and skinless oven baked chicken breast. I don't add salt into anything except vegetable soup and I was just wondering would it affect my liver shrinking? Trying to be as healthy as possible for my op so I guess no salt for me
  17. So I'm on my pre op healthy diet to shrink my liver and reduce fat (1000-1200 calories) but I was wondering can I have salt? Because I've been making lots of healthy soups, using pepper and herbs but it's just not the same without a bit of salt in it but I'm not sure I'm allowed? Help?!
  18. I just usually eat a piece of fruit and a yogurt its good coz you can take them with you if your on the run!
  19. My op date is the 12th of August. I'm Irish too, I live up north, and I smoke too lol. I'm on my pre op diet and yes it is SO flipping hard and I had to stop smoking, but all I can tell you is the thing that keeps me going is the thought of me not being fat anymore! I'm just so excited to loose weight and I would do anything to loose it, so of I have to stop smoking for a few weeks and diet then il do it to try be healthier. Il probably smoke again after my op though lol. But just think of how good your going to look. And remember how dangerous it is for you if you don't quit smoking! Just try have one smoke a week but 2 weeks before your op you need to seriously not have any. Best of luck! Btw who are you getting your surgery with?
