I got scheduled for August 20!! 2 weeks!!

But I still think they approved me because I bugged the HELL OUT OF THEM DAILY!!

After resubmittal I was approved this morning. The surgeon's office already called and scheduled my surgery for August 20!!! Yipeeee....I'm headed to the loser's bench!!

Well, they resubmitted on Friday. They have asked Cigna to call them if it's denied a second time. They seem to think that it's the wording that the Cardiologist utilized. More to come.. Didn't realized the emotional toll this has...wowzers!

Called Cigna today. Got the bad news. They say I was denied because my surgeon didn't send in a letter from an additional MD stating that I was evaluated and ok for surgery. I called and left my surgeon's office a voicemail. I just assume that if the insursance coordinator in the office does this on a regular basis that he/she knows what to send in. Guess I'll have to micromanage them now.

Congrats!! Hopefully I will be approved by week's end!!

Called Cigna today. First they told me that I was denied due to the fact that my Dr was not at a COE. When they realized that he was, after a 15 minute wait I was told that my case was on the Medical Director's desk, whatever that means. So I'll continue to wait...

I'm pre-surgery (well, waiting on authorization...and goin nutts in the meantime...but I digress) and chose sleeving because there is some research that speaks to the effectiveness of the band in African American patients. Additionally, I did not personally like the idea of having a foreign object implanted in me, nor did I like the idea of a port permenantly under my skin on my side. I want a one shot deal. No going back for shots monthly.

Like any good, well trained gay, I am fashionably late.....however....fabulously here.

Mine was submitted Monday...we're in the same holding Que with Cigna! Stay positive.

Honey I called twice already!!! I couldn't help myself. This has been such a long journey, and when I say that I mean coming to terms with my weight and health and the things that I must personally do to get better. Thank you all for your support. I should have been on this board much earlier. But I won't lie..I am sneaking in some of my favorite foods before this pre-surgery diet. I am ok with giving them up..but I will get one last bite!

I'm actually jealous of you! YOU'VE DONE SOME HARD WORK! You set a goal to change your life. You had a surgery which is a tool to make you much healthier. You had no surgery complications. All of that is a blessing. Beloved, you will lose weight...I mean..they took most of your stomach out. Sit back and don't stress..let nature heal your body and take it's course. I wanna be like you!! That should encourage you!

Well...I finally joined the forum instead of "lurking". I guess the fact that I've officially submitted to insurance is making this all real to me now...I'm ready to join the losers bench! Cigna OA Plus says they have the info...let's hope for a speedy approval!
