Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
I hear everyone talk about cheating and wonder what they mean too.... My NUT said I am cleared to eat anything I want. We have to go on with as normal of a lifestyle as we can. She said as long as I am getting in my protein and fluids etc.. it is OK to have a treat once in a while. If we deprive ourselves all the time we will just want it more often. I think back to the amount of food I would consume in a meal and am shocked! We are still eating far less than we were before. We don't have the ability at a couple of months out to eat like we used to. I am so happy that I am satisfied with just a bite of something when I used to always want so much more. Don't be so hard on yourselves. Look at your life now compared to a few months ago. We are rockin' our sleeves!!! Keep up a positive attitude and if you slip up... tomorrow is another day. I can't wait until we are a year out. We are all going to look fabulous!!!

Glass Of Wine
Mine does not allow alcohol for 1 year. I am fine with that as wine gives me a headache, the only beer i like is Corona, and only like a few mixed drinks. I have a friend that had lap band. He is 4 months out and has a drink each day. He started that on vacation and gained weight. Pretty sure i will wait the year

Vsg In Minneapolis Area?
My surgery was with Dr Jones at Park Nicollet. I can't say enough about how wonderful they all are on the bariatric team! Dr. Jones is great. He makes you feel comfortable from the beginning. The nurses and nutritionists are great too. I have had a great experience and so have 2 of my friends. All 3 of us have had no problems at all. I am 2 months out. 1 of my friends is 3 months out and the other one is 1 week out. Fabulous program at Park Nicollet. They also have a support group that meets 2x a month. Good luck to you. Feel free to msg me if you have any questions

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
My surgery was 9/6. I started noticing more hair loss this week. I was washing it and looked at my hand... it was covered in hair. I have enough hair for 10 people so I am sure it won't be noticable to anyone but me. Our church has a turkey dinner every year. My husband went and got a to go meal for himself. I just plucked off a little bit of turkey, mashed potatoes and dressing. (tiny bit of the carby stuff). It was so delicious and I was so satisfied! I said to him... "I love my sleeve and the Holiday's are going to be a piece of cake for me this year. I won't over eat and will lose" Lovin my sleeve....

Gaining Weight
lol I had more food funerals than I care to admit! I kept thinking... Oh, I can't eat that for a long time??? better stock up on it! I think it is something we all do. I had to do 6 months with a NUT so even though I ate everything I wasn't supposed to I was a bit more careful so I didn't gain a bunch and then have to weigh in. As soon as I was approved that was all out the window. It was a free for all until I started my 10 day pre op diet. It was almost a relief to start it!

I was in the store today and realized that I had slip on shoes that no longer fit! I felt like I needed to curl my toes to keep them from falling off. It was a good feeling but they are my favorite shoes and still in good shape! I normally just wear flip flops around the house (I work from home) or walking shoes if I am out exercising Not sure I want to buy new shoes yet as I have a lot to lose yet. I think I'll just wear my walking shoes when I go out.

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
I hated guacamole for a while but tonight we went out for Mexican and I liked it again. I shared a meal with a friend. We had shrimp and refried beans. Yummy and protein packed. Wasn't even tempted by the candy. Not much left over thank goodness!

Unable To Eat Veggies With Protein
My NUT told me to try eating 2 bites of protein to 1 bite of veggies. It has worked well for me. You can always get extra protein in a shake.

Your "large" Incision?
Right side for me too. My Dr made 7 incisions for mine. I know others have less. I also had my gall bladder out at the same time so maybe that made a difference.
