Soooo, since I have decided on weight loss surgery in March, I've probably gained an additional 15 pounds because I'm eating more now... I guess it's because I know that I'm not going to be able to eat like this anymore, so I'm packing on more weight. It's really depressing me... Had anyone else done this?

lol I had more food funerals than I care to admit! I kept thinking... Oh, I can't eat that for a long time??? better stock up on it! I think it is something we all do.

I had to do 6 months with a NUT so even though I ate everything I wasn't supposed to I was a bit more careful so I didn't gain a bunch and then have to weigh in. As soon as I was approved that was all out the window. It was a free for all until I started my 10 day pre op diet. It was almost a relief to start it!

Yes, I did for several weeks. And then I got sick of eating. I was shoveling in food and felt like crap. Since then I have found that I haven't been eating ridiculous amounts, and I'm making better choices now. I get sleeved next week.

Even though I knew I wasn't doing a good thing to myself, I didn't feel inclined to stop until I felt ill. And now I'm in a slightly more sane state of mind I realise that I have extra kgs to lose....bummer. I hope you can get it under control :)

I am on my six month supervised diet and am having a hard time staying on the diet. I lost in the beginning and kept it off but at my last appt they told me I should lose 5 more before my next appointment as it would go along way towards me getting approved. Instead I have been eating lots of things I shouldnt and have gained 5 instead. I have 10 days to lose the 10 pounds and I am pretty sure I can get it off at least I hope I can.

Stop doing that! I binged and acted like every meal was my last the month before surgery and I gained about 10-15 lbs. It caused stretch marks on the outside of my upper arms that I can never get rid of. They weren't there before that last month :(

i would say its probably normal i had something up about this the other day. you know what i have realised about me is that i am just not ^dieting^ !! what i mean is that even though Im over weight i still probably started every day with a diet i would have strayed from it nearly every day but plenty of times during the day i would have denied my self food in the name of that days diet ! but now leading up to surgery since its been confirmed i have stopped all diet attempts until i start the liquid diet next week. if i want to eat i eat. if i feel my hubby is looking at me cos Im eating again Im saying so what it will be over soon.

i know its not healthy but i think it might be part of the journey.

also i was banded and had it removed so i know what restriction is think this is what's makin me eat

don't be too hard on your self

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
