  1. can't wait to try this!! I'm still on full liquids.
  2. It took my bladder a day to wake up from anesthesia. They cathed me 2x but it wasn't too bad.
  3. That's why I spent a couple of nights in the recliner
  4. I made a can of tomato soup with milk and threw in some basil. It was the BEST tomato soup ever!!! lol Other than that I am sticking to yogurt and protein drinks. Looking for other suggestions too
  5. I had a hard time laying flat for a few days. I slept in the recliner for a few days. Then I slept in the bed on my side. I am not a back sleeper either. I had no trouble on my side.
  6. I picked up some smaller spoons and forks in the appetizer section of a kitchen store. I love them!! Use them every day. My NUT had me do this pre op so I could get used to it. It sure makes you eat slower. Love them! I also got some p,.astic baby spoons at the dollar store. They are perfect for yogurt!
  7. So... I have a hard time drinking an entire Protein shake. I usually drink 1/2 for a morning snack and the other 1/2 for a snack later. Do any of you do this? or can you drink a whole shake??? I just get so full!! I can easily drink any Clear liquids. NO problem!
  8. I found mine at world market. I bet if you google it they will tell you. Amazon has them too.
  9. I add SF syrups to my shakes. English toffee and caramel are my favorites! I also add PB2 (powdered peanut butter) to my chocolate shakes. They are the best!!! (caramel in that one) I also add SF pudding like pistacio or cheesecake. Maybe a little crystal lite. Mix it up a bit so you get a variety! They are not so bad when you spice them up a bit
  10. What are your favorite sites for healthy recipes. I am only 1 week post op but have been looking at many great sites. I really don't like to cook much but I have such a great new outlook on food that these recipes look fun!! Some of my fav's so far are http://www.emilybites.com/p/recipe-index.html http://gastricsleeve4me.blogspot.com/ http://www.hungry-girl.com/ http://www.bariatriccookery.com/ http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ Those are some of my favs. What are yours???
  11. Such a great new life you are about to embark on. Good luck on your journey! I am 1 week out and SO happy I did this. Feeling great
  12. I wanted to cheat but I stuck to the diet. I figured the more fat of the liver the easier surgery would go! So glad I did as I am 1 week out and everything went GREAT!!!
  13. I am 1 week out. When I had Breakfast today I decided on yogurt. There is NO way I can finish an entire container. So I save 1/2 of it for lunch or for tomorrow. I definately feel full and not at all hungry when I am done. Yesterday I did not feel hungry at all and had to remind myself to get my Protein in! Such a great feeling!!!!!
  14. My surgery was 1 week ago today. I feel fantastic. Of course you will have a little pain but you just had a major surgery. They are so good about keeping the pain under control that it was never an issue. I was up and walking around a few hours after surgery. I did not have any nausea after the first day. I have already been out and about with my girlfriends shopping for 2 days this week. Not long periods of time but at least I was out of the house for a bit. I do get tired easily but I am sure diet has a lot to do with that too. Keep a positive attitude and it will make a huge difference. Mind/body healing is a great thing!!! Good luck and keep us posted
  15. I am doing great! I think I over extended myself the last couple of days so tonight I have a little pain and am pooped!! I was just feeling so good...... Started on creamy Soups, Protein shakes etc.. and now it is a bit harder to get all my Water in. I feel like I am drinking ALL the time! So happy to step on the scale
  16. good info!! I have had them a couple of times. THanks!!
  17. A good friend of mine passed away 2 years ago. I am very close to her 7 yr old. We spend a lot of time together. The other day I told him I was having surgery and he asked why (his mom had many surgeries) When I told him I was not sick and my dr and I thought it would be a good idea if I lose weight. He looked me over from top to bottom and said... "I think they are right" lol out of the mouths of babes. HE also asked what I would look like when I came home from the hosp. He thought I would lose it all in the hosp. (i wish)
  18. I got my sleeve 6 days ago and feel great! So happy I made this decision. One of the main reasons I decided on the sleeve was that the nurse I met with for the informational meeting had the RNY 15 years ago. I asked her if she were to do it now would she do the same procedure? She said she would do the sleeve. The first nurse I met with was PG and going to have the surgery after she had the baby. I asked if she minded telling me which one she would have and she said "hands down the sleeve" They see patients every day and I thought that spoke volumes! I had absolutely no reservations going into this. I did a lot of research and felt very comfortable. So happy I did it!!!
  19. Many Dr's require different pre op diets. I was allowed to have Protein shakes 4-5 x a day. It is good to have a variety! I got tired of the sweet stuff so I got the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup and it was great when mixed with broth. I would also do broth for a change. I drank a lot of Water, Sobe water, tea, apple juice, cranberry juice Good luck! It is much easier than I thought it would be and goes by very quickly!
  20. Great recipes! when we are so limited it is nice to have variety
  21. mmmm looking forward to refried beans. I LOVE them! Strange how little I eat!! What a difference!
  22. Had my 1 week check up today. I was approved for Protein shakes and creamy Soups. I made the BEST tomato Soup (can) Just added a little basil and it was fantastic!!..... It's all perspective..... Best meal in WEEKS!! YUMMY Didn't think I would like Protein Shakes so much again either! lol
  23. check out some of the smoothie recipies on the world according to eggface. She has some great ones. Switch up the Protein drinks. i found I got sick of the sweet stuff so i ordered some unjury chicken Soup. I loved it when mixed with chicken broth. (big difference) It goes by way faster than you think it will. I found it fairly easy. I followed it to the T and didn't have any problems after surgery. I am 5 days out and you would hardly know I had it done. I am just a little tired. Took some pain meds this morning as I had to go to the Dr 1 1/2 hr away and lots of walking. I don't think I would have needed it. We even went shopping afterwards! Good luck to you!! It will be here before you know it!
  24. Corn does not digest well. I would be careful and just try a little.
