Glass Of Wine

Recommended Posts

Is it okay to have a glass of wine at an event at eight weeks out?

I am also putting a call into my surgeon, because I didn't see anything about this topic in thier documentation.

Mine allowed it. I was 8 weeks when I had my first taste. Since it's at an event though, sip slowly and see how it effects you.

There are many topics about this if you type in the search box above. Several will probably respond to this thread, but it has been covered in several different ways in other threads as well.

I had my first wine about then and did just fine. I think it is not advised because it is "empty calories" but I calculate in with my calories allowed for the day.

Exactly. but whoever called them "empty" didn't enjoy wine. its my fifth food group :P

I am 5 1/2 weeks out and I am debating having a glass this weekend while we are out of town. I may not, but if I do I will let you know how my one glass goes.

Thank you all for your input. I am thinking it is safe to slowly sip a glass of wine! :)

Or drink like a fish and dance on the table...or puke in the flowers. Both risk you not being invited to an event again, or being invited because you're nice entertainment....

LOL there was another wine question in another thread and I want to tell you I totally refrained from commenting even though she spelled it "whine" which she linked to the word liquor. I totally refrained from a whine and lick her comment....I swear, I'm a model of decorum....

Mine does not allow alcohol for 1 year. I am fine with that as wine gives me a headache, the only beer i like is Corona, and only like a few mixed drinks.< /p>

I have a friend that had lap band. He is 4 months out and has a drink each day. He started that on vacation and gained weight.

Pretty sure i will wait the year

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
