  1. I didn't have to do protein shake diet, but I have them occasionally to prepare for post-op. They're great for quick grab & go breakfast.
  2. I'm proud of you too! Great job! I know a lady who lost 100 lbs with no fill, after the 100 she finally did. Hoping I'll be like you. Not excited about trying to find green zone.
  3. I had a problem that my nutritionist didn't want me to lose a lot of weight & PCP did. I drew a line down the middle and lost 24lbs in the 6mths. Once my insurance was approved I switched to some LB rules like protein first, small bites, putting my fork down for one minute between bites, smaller portions, chew 30 times and have lost a total 34lbs and surgery is still 15days away. I hope adjusting to band life will be easier! Best to you on your journey!
  4. Sounds good! Curious, did the cottage cheese make it creamer?
  5. I too have sciatic pain for years. When I went to orthopedic Dr for knee he gave me a cortisone inj. & it helped for awhile. Eventually it came back, I think it's the way I waddle b/c of knee's. I found that stretches help the most. I got a sleep number bed and hot tub and they both work wonders. I had a bad car accident in Jan2012 and whatever wasn't hurting before hurts now. The # I use on bed that helped sciatic, now kills my neck & shoulders & neck / shoulder # kills my back. I think I'm going to sleep in hot tub. That my friends is heaven. I was really hoping that taking some weight off would help, but after reading this thread I'm not vary hopeful. Bright side, lose some weight and have knees replaced.
  6. And I would not be guided by. Someone that encourages wl patients not to listen to their Dr. j/s
  7. I've read about Ghrelin and it sounds like Mis73 is right.
  8. Just in case Missy doesn't get back on, she posted this on this thread. It's called Ghrelin. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghrelin I hope this helps you!

  11. It's amazing someone can write for a major news median and be so ignorant of the facts. Geez!
  12. Also my Dr said the size of a pencil eraser, which I think is about a pinky size.
