  1. Thanks for this suggestion, I just went and ordered this book online.
  2. This certainly does not sound to be a calorie conscious recipe. Cheese, sour cream, chicken soup in a can?
  3. Glad that you only lost your deposit, my deposit was only $500.00. You have gone on and had your surgery with another doctor so be grateful that you did not lose your life with Dr Pompa. You made the right decision and the cost was miniscule compared to your life. Good luck with your sleeve journey
  4. I agree you will be fine. You will have to be choosy I'm sure on what food you eat. Some are on solids at this point others are not.
  5. I had three incisions and a drain hole. My largest is about 3/4" left hand side tummy, one at the belly button and a very small one to the right of that. I didn't need the liver lifter hole between the breasts.
  6. I am 10 days post op and just got back from the doctors. I had a clear, little red liquid leaking from my large incision and he said it is an infection. You may want to go to your doctor and check just to be safe. You don't want to let it go and then get into serious problems.
  7. No worries it is all water weight. I gained 7 pounds and it took me 6 days after surgery to lose it. You will lose it soon plus more to come.
  8. I know what you mean I feel the same way going from clears to full liquid? I am having a hard time getting in both protein and water, I am constantly trying to sip water after my full feeling from 2oz of shake goes away. I think this is the best way to be as our weight loss should be good and eventually we will be able to eat everything and probably wish for these days back!
  9. It sounds to me like you are missing all of the social and life aspects of food. This for me too is really lifechanging. You will NEVER be able to eating again like others. Think of this though if you did it on your own and wanted to be successful and maintain your weightloss the same would be true, or you would start to gain again. I too agree that two months out is too soon to judge. Please take a breath, think of why you did this, be good to your self, keep exercising and eating right................the weight WILL come off. Do something nice for yourself; massage, pedicure and get your head back into the right spacel. There is no turning back now so go forward down the right road.
  10. Under my doctors direction a protein drink is not a clear liquid(it really is not clear). I didn't start them until I went to full liquids.......................
  11. Congratulations!! You so deserve it!! I dream of the day I reach ONEDERLAND.
  12. I Would love too I don't know anything about it. Can you tell me where to find the link about it?
  13. they use the same hospital. Everything is the same except the company you go through.
  14. when I was talking with a gentleman from alighterme he said that they used to be one company. I guess at some point they split. In my opinion ready 4a change is less upscale then alighterme: older vehicles, no consistent visiting. I think the extra you pay may be the company and not the doctor.
  15. You probably won't damage anything but trust me you won't be able to drink a full liquid yet. Three days ago when I went to full liquids I could hardly get in 2 oz then I was full. Don't rush yourself. Drink your clear for the amount of time required then progress. You tummy will thank you
  16. Well hold tight because you will be drinking protein shakes for quite a while after your surgery. Make sure you find some you like.........................
  17. I am only on my second day full liquids but am struggling to get my protein in. If I am getting 35 grams I am lucky. I just tried the protein shots and thought they would be a great small source of protein but they are soooo sweet that they make my tiny tummy churn, I can't drink it. Does anyone have any suggestions? How to use the unflavoured protein powder? I kind of feel like a fish out of water so to speak not sure how to go about this. My tummy is full after 2 ounces so I am either sipping water or sipping a shake all day. Thanks to anyone for your help
  18. Congratulations, but one question, do you celebrate Christmas? I will had to go through the holidays just a few days out, I envy your determination and desire no matter what!!
  19. Congratulations, glad that all went well, had my revision on the 10th and sailed through it!! One day at a time!!
  20. I just had my revision on the 10th and I will tell you it is the best thing I have done. I new I would have to have the band replaced sooner or later as it would lead to complications. It is best if you can have it done at the same time removal and sleeve. I had an amazing surgeon and would do it again. The sleeve does not allow you to ever again eat large portions of food. You will feel full on very small amouts of food. If you continually eat high caloric slider foods then I am sure that you can gain back weight. It is a very life changing surgery though, your eating patterns will change drastically for the rest of your life. Think about it, but I certainly recommend it.
  21. I think any time is good. I think sharing ideas and challenges will only help us be successful in the long run. Your location sounds close. Sounds like you are doing great for only one week out. I was sleeved on the 10th and started full liquids yesterday, it was very hard to get down one shake. Today seems a litlle better but full very fast. Post when you are ready to meet.
  22. I had surgery on the 10th and just started full liquids today. Can hardly get in one protein shake. Had a little bit of tomato soup made with milk so probably 40 grams today. With all this protien now hard to get in water. I know it will get better each day. I say stick to what your surgeon recommends he knows best.
  23. Amanda you have a long way to go before your surgery. Maybe focus on your eating habits, try to cut out sweets and excess carbs i.e. breads, rice, pasta. Try to incorporate more veggies. I think your body will feel better but don't stress about it. You are having the surgery for a reason. No matter what age, activity level or health everyone will recover differently. You won't know until you have your surgery..........hang in there.
  24. I would love to join a support group. I am just across the border in Windsor and was sleeved on the 10th. Maybe we can set something up once a month.
  25. I am so happy for you!! Congratulations on your accomplishments!!
