  1. Thank you everyone. I know I had made the right decision, but anxiety does try its hardest to get the best of me. I had brain surgery 4 years ago, so if I can do that, I can do this. I'm hoping that since I am used to pain from my fibromyalgia, I will be able to handle this pain too. xx
  2. I am being banded tomorrow and I am so scared. The doctor made everything sound so easy "You'll have surgery, be back to normal in 3-5 days and then after the 4 week post op diet, you will eat whatever your family does, only in much smaller portions'. From what I have read on here, the process is much more complicated. I am so worried about waking up from surgery unable to drink any water and being in horrible pain. I have fibromyalgia and have no idea how that will be affected by the surgery. I am kind of second guessing my decision to do this (something I knew would happen) but have already paid for the surgery and done the entire pre-op process. I just feel completely sick to my stomach and I know tonight is only going to get worse.
  3. I have been on a liquid and vegetable pre-op diet for the past 11 days. I have followed that diet except I added a 1/2 cup of non fat cottage cheese (per day) because I was feeling extremely nauseous. I went to weigh myself for the first time yesterday and have only lost 3 pounds. Is this normal? I have read about so many people losing large numbers during the pre-op diet. I have had a really hard time losing weight during the past year (part of the reason I opted to have surgery), and am worried something may be medically wrong and therefore, the band won't help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  5. I agree that you should not cheat during your pre-op diet, but why does everyone automatically assume she ate a hamburger/fries/brownie and whatever else was mentioned. I am on my pre-op diet and today i had to cheat because if I didn't get something more substantial in my body I would throw up or pass out. I chose cottage cheese. Not great to cheat. but not everyone means going to mcdonalds when they mention cheating.
