Why I'm Not Telling My Mother In Law
I'm sorry you have to deal with people like that in your life. Fortunately, this forum is a great place to vent and get the support you need. Keeping your surgery a secret is completely understandable and is totally a personal choice, in my case I don't really care whether people know or not, I guess fear of failure it's always lurking on the back of our heads, but if you put it in perspective, you will realize that you just got a great tool that grants you a big advantage in this battle. I wish you the best

You're welcome, good luck

Knocking On Green's Door
It's when your skin starts turning green from all the vegetables you have to eat everyday It's actually when after a few fills you finally get the right restriction for you, where you don't feel hungry and can sustain a desired weight loss without starving. I'm hoping I get there soon myself.

What Is Your One Main Motivation?
Great topic Carolina, My great motivation are my two kids, not only on this journey but in all aspects of my life. I've always tried really hard to set a great example for them and the only thing that I wasn't able to control was my weight. Also, I'm in a point in my life where I can enjoy my kids, take them camping, fishing, play sports with them and even though I do a lot of that, I want to be able to keep that up for many years to come. In second place would be my health, I don't want to be forty or fifty and have to deal with all the consequences of obesity, I've seen my uncle get a stroke and be reduced to a life of complete codependance and his quality of life is horrible. And this might sound cheesy but I am also hoping that I would find the perfect woman for me, I am ready to give love another try...... and hopefully this time it won't break my heart.

New Guy In The Group !!!
Update: Hi guys, I'm sad to inform you that I gained 5lbs I just haven't been able to eat the 4oz of food every three hours. I'm constantly hungry, maybe because my band is empty but I can eat as much as before the surgery. Anyways, my first fill is scheduled for this Thursday Aug 16th, and I am really hoping that this will finally get me back on track....crossing my fingers and I will let you know

2 Weeks Out
They gave me Optifast shakes, three flavors, chocolate, vanilla and strawberry, really good. I had to take five a day. It wasn't that difficult to stick to the regimen. After the second day your body kinda goes in shock or something and you stop having those powerful cravings. This is my tenth day pot -op and I feel really good. I walked two miles and jogged one. No pain at all. If you don't like your shakes change them for another brand that suits you better, any GNC or nutrition store will have a nice variety. Don't sweat the small stuff and focus on the big picture. I hope you do great!

Do You Think Sexual Attraction Will Change With Weight Loss?
I think sexual attraction has a lot to do with all of your senses. It's not just how the woman looks, but to me at least it has a lot to do with the way she carries herself, the way she smells, the way she talks to me and how she makes me feel overall. so I wouldn't determine whether I will be attracted to someone or not based on how I look, but based on what that person IS and how she makes me feel, it's all psychological, your brain tells you what to like.

Hi everyone ! It's great to find this site, to share good and bad expreriences, but that's what support means. I'm scheduled to have my surgery this Monday July 23rd, 2012 and even though I am a little worried about the challenges ahead I am also very excited about the positive turn that my life is gonna take. I hope we can share our journeys together.
