  4. No crystal light since last night. I had the same pain today. Now wondering if I am waiting too long to eat. Had a protein shake at 6 then sharp pain started around 1030 then eating some chicken at 11... Just trying to figure out what this pain is... Feels like someone is stabbing me in my gut
  5. Anyone else get a stabbing pain in their stomach after drinking crystal light? I think I have narrowed it down to the crystal light... Trying just plain water today
  6. Always good to have someone new on board. No question is too dumb here, everyone is super nice. Good luck and keep us posted
  7. oh my gosh, its right around the corner..... woohoo!!!
  8. love the marbles idea... congrats on the loss... what a feeling!!!
  9. I personally needed someone there to help me get up when I used the bathroom and get out of my chair... tummy is awfully sore. Whether you hire someone or have a loved one there is up to you... but personally I would have someone there for at least a week. If you are more mobile then I was have a contigency that you can let them go early if you are feeling up to it.
  10. Hang in there sweetie. It will be your time before you know it. Surf the web, do research on the surgery. This is your time right now.. get prepared, get as healthy as you can and when you get the surgery use the tool. We are all here for you... please dont give up!!!
  11. I was told the same thing... Also anyone who has gained weight after gastric bypass nearly always states they think it was from going back to drinking pop... That's enough for me to not drink it ever again
  12. I took 6 weeks off but I was one of the lucky ones with banked sick leave. I could have gone back in three. I was feeling normal by then. But I'm also over 40... Little longer to heal maybe??? Ha!!
  13. good job. Its a great feeling!!!!
  14. You are well on your way to recovery.... YEA!!!!
  15. I turned my laptop upside down so I could see you right side up. Awesome. I can hardly wait til I can wear a 12.
  16. Good grief. Hope all this passes soon and you are on the way to feeling better. I hope your husband is a good nurse. I dont think mine could do it!!
  17. I gave up all caffiene and soda the day of surgery. I made my husband buy starbucks the other day just so I could take a big ole whiff...... smelled heavenly!!!!
  18. I have been at this for 6 months. I have had so many stalls I cant even count them. But I have an app on my phone that keeps track of my weight and it says I have lost 4.2 lbs a week since I started. So not too shabby. Dont give up. You arent doing anything wrong. Your body is adjusting to alot of crap right now including the reduction in calories. In our mind we think okay I am eating a hell of alot less then I used to be and I should be losing like a fiend. Unfortunatly these overweight bodies of ours like to hold onto the fat for as long as it cans, I dont know why. But I guess what I am trying to say is in the grand scheme of things, if you are doing everything you are supposed to be doing that weight is gonna come off. Patience my friends... not an easy virtue but in this game of ours we are in, we have to have it. By the way 107 lbs gone in six months and I stall out at least twice a month.
  19. The numbers are staggering. I am not surprised. We are a fast food, quick fix nation. We sit our kids in front of a tv like its some sort of baby sitter and then buy them every video game imaginable. I have been guilty of it in the past to be sure. Now when I go walk, it's a family thing. And I must say I enjoy the time with them. I often think, and I have seen it posted on the boards a time or two that if we lived like they did way back when... no tv, more family interaction, chores to be done outside, we would be a healthier leaner better nation.
  20. I have got some I'll sell you real cheap... ha!!! They are gross!!
  21. My heart breaks for you Mami. I know decisions like this are hard ones to make. Trust your heart and do what is right for you and your kids. You deserve to put YOU first!!!!
  22. The only chicken I can eat is the rotisserie chicken from the deli at walmart. It seems most enough. Its the one thing I didnt think I would have such a problem with but chicken breast I cook for my family just dont work for me. It was about month 2 for me that I could tolerate the rotisserie kind.
  23. 44 here. I have had a life of dieting and trying every magic cure you can imagine. I used to look down on wls as the easy way out and thought anyone who did it was just not disciplined... ha... man we are the most disciplined people I know. All the rules to follow and things to do... Vitamins to take for the rest of our lives. I have always loved being in my 40's. Really felt like it was my time to shine. And my weight loss is just icing on the cake. It is harder to lose weight the older we get, in my opionion. But after losing 107 lbs so far this has been the best decision I have ever made. I am glad to meet some other 40's who are going thru the same things I am. I look forward to sharing with you all during this journey.
